Tincknells serves customers across Somerset, Wiltshire, Dorset, Avon and south Gloucestershire. It’s already a well-known name in the South West, with a great reputation for integrity and customer service. Company director Rob Ormond and heating services manager Richard Beck both emphasise that Tincknells is a ‘modest’ company, concerned more with providing a good service than making a fuss about it. But its recent win could change all that.

Tincknell Heating Services is one wing of the long-established fuel business, Tincknell Fuels. ‘It’s a win for the industry,’ said Rob Ormond. ‘The fuel industry, which we’re part of, doesn’t always get the best press, but this is a really positive step.’
Winning the Which? Trusted trader of the year award and being elevated above the thousands of other businesses on the Which? Trusted Traders scheme means a lot to the company. But it’s adamant that this won’t change the way it works.

Over three days, Ollie and Jamie installed a replacement boiler and hot water tank in our house, with associated flue, controls, connections and a chemical flush, a major renewal of our heating system. This was all completed to our satisfaction, to the agreed schedule and budget. They completed the work on time, with minimal disruption and were a pleasure to have on site. They were communicative, polite, tidy and were knowledgeable about what they were doing and kept us informed of progress. From the first survey by James C, through the provision of a professional report and quote, to completion of the work by Ollie and Jamie, Tincknells have lived up to the reports that we had of them, in being good value, attentive to their customers and providing a first class result. We would recommend them to others seeking such a service.

Complete heating system refit and conversion from electric to oil

Have nothing but praise for this company. From start to finish they have been helpful, informative and completely professional. We required a complete heating system refit and conversion from electric to oil which meant moving out for 5 days. This is quite an upheaval for anyone but very traumatic for my mother who is 81. However, this company carried out pre-visits explained the whole process, their requirements prior to work starting, kept to time schedule and left the property clean and tidy. Honesty, you would not have know they had been there apart from the fact that the house was warm and there was a lovely bunch of flowers to boot. I cannot fault this companies workers or their work ethics and would highly recommend them to anyone.

Tincknells Heating engineer Keith Davey had visited previously as we had had problems with our oil heating system and he had recommended following up with alterations to our header tank pipework to correct things that were wrong. We were given a quotation and a date and time for the work to be carried out. Keith and apprentice engineer Harry Peters came on time on the appointed day and carried out the necessary procedures professionally and tidily and with minimal disruption to ourselves. They were both an absolute pleasure to deal with and we are delighted to have had this work done completely stress-free ! Thank you also to Nick Turner, Installation and Parts Manager for co-ordinating the project. We can say confidently that Tincknell Heating is an efficient, well-organised company that we would have no hesitation in recommending to prospective customers. Keith and Harry are a credit to themselves and to Tincknells !

Our aged boiled broke down. Phoned Tincknell who sent us a engineer David. He was brilliant. The boiler needed a new pump and other items to put it into working order. Tincknell reacted quickly to our problem. I was most impressed.

I recently needed to have a new boiler installed, which at the time seemed like a major job. However, I need not have worried. Everyone I spoke to at Tincknell’s was polite, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble, I was not rushed into making any decisions, and communication to and fro during this time was always reliable and courteous. Once I had made my decisions, my new boiler was fitted promptly and efficiently. The team left my home just as they found it (except a lot warmer!) and I have no hesitation in recommending them to others. Thank you, Tincknell’s, for a job very well done.
