About

Hello and welcome to Tolleys Gas. We are a family-run business with 48 years combined British Gas experience. Our Company includes father, daughter and son.

George/Ted Tolley started with British Gas straight from school as an apprentice and has built up a good reputation with all his customers over 42 years. As an engineer, he was always valued and trusted by his customers and colleagues and was often asked for by name.

Sarah Tolley followed in her father's footsteps and started with British Gas as an apprentice in 2007 and was fully qualified 12 months later, gaining 6 years experience in gas appliance service and repair and being one of the first female engineers in the area.

In 2013 we joined together to create Tolleys Gas Limited, providing a friendly and professional service using the experience and expertise gained at British Gas.

In 2014 Antony Tolley joined the business as an apprentice. Antony is now a vital member of the team and hopes to be qualified soon.

Sarah & Anthony fitted a new gas fire for us and explained our options in a very clear, polite and professional manner. They were responsive to messages and always punctual to appointments which is important to me when arranging time off work. I will be using their service again and have recommended them to family and friends.

Tolleys have serviced two boilers for me today, completed a Landlord Gas Certificate and replaced two carbon monoxide alarms.

Lovely people to have working in the house and they are so professional and go above and beyond! This is the seventh YEAR that I have used Tolleys Gas Limited, there is nothing too much trouble for them and, living alone, I can trust them to do their careful and skilled work without problems. They arrive on time, work cleanly and efficiently and offer advice without having an eye on profit. The added bonus is knowing that I can rely on them if I have an emergency. If they are remedying work done by someone else, they do not denigrate the work they are repairing, they're just thoroughly nice and trustworthy people. I love them.

Tolleys have always serviced my gas stove and have more recently taken on my boiler and heating. They are considerate and efficient: professional gas engineers. On this occasion, I needed a service and a thorough check and safety certificate in preparation for the possibility of housing some refugees. The team of three divided roles to include fire, boiler and flue checks and maintenance. They also updated the carbon monoxide alarms. I felt reassured by this and know that when you call them you get a swift and competent response. Their charges are moderate, complementing their service.

This is the first time we have used Tolley's - they fitted our new boiler and we were very pleased with the work they have done. Their advice and recommendations were good - our previous boiler was underspecced and unsuitable for the job - they new one is way better. They take pride in their work and they go over and above what is necessary to get the job done - when they had left we didn't just have a new boiler, we had a new system which was miles better than what we had previously. On top of all that, their prices were competitive and excellent value for money considering the service we received. Would definitely use again and recommend to others.

The third time we have used Tolley's Gas to fix our various heating problems. Only a thermostat swap this time but the same, prompt, efficient service. Clean, tidy engineers who know their stuff and just get on with the job. Full Covid wear and distancing was observed. Call the best folks to fix your problem. Why look elsewhere?

After our boiler started to breakdown we had a few quotes for a replacement and after a prompt, comprehensive and competitive quote we chose Tolleys Gas. We were kept informed of when the work would be completed and the team were great when it came to the install - friendly, professional, hard working and great at explaining what they were doing and then making sure we understood the controls etc once all set up. Would happily recommend them to anyone.

Having made a decision to cancel a boiler care agreement on Which?'s recommendation in favour of using an independent should our boiler become problematical, our 23 year old Myson Marathon 700C failed for the first time. Researched Which? trusted traders on the internet, and having read numerous reviews decided to contact Tolleys Gas Ltd. What a good call it turned out to be. Their response was quick and efficient, with Sarah finding the problem, going away and locating the part, and, all within 36 hours, including two evening visits, triumphantly, firing up the boiler. Excellent smile, excellent service and at a good rate.

No show after 75 days
I have given up on them. Their card says 'no job too small', but they took [by agreement] 50 days to turn up and then just took identical photos to the ones I'd already sent of the job. 25 days later, no response to email/SMS/phone [not even picking up]. Is this a record? YMMV.
