Total Home Solutions (THS) are part of the Smith and Byford group and specialise in delivering Gas, Electrical and Plumbing services to local private Homeowners and Landlords. Our THS team operate from our showroom, located in Cheam Village, which was first opened in 2012.

Contacted Total Home Solutions after a disappointing experience with another potential installer. From start to finish Total Home Solutions handled the choice of the new boiler and thereafter supplying and fitting together with new radiators plus removal of a water tank all with excellent quality and attention and good communication from Emma and her colleagues.

Right from the beginning everyone was very kind and helpful. It took 2 days to do the cleaning process and installation and I was kept informed of progress all the time. I have been a customer for many years and cannot praise this company enough. Emma, Del, Andy , Dee, Jason and all have become the 3rd emergency service for us! This time we desperately needed help to replace our daughter’s boiler asap, due to imminent house move, even though she was not a customer, they did the job within four days, with special thanks to Del for getting the hot water to work for those few days. Honestly can’t thank them enough for their understanding and help, would recommend them to anybody.

I made a random telephone call to Smith and Byford when we needed a new boiler, having seen their vans in our area. I spoke to Dee and from my initial enquiry there was no going back; she was so helpful and reassuring, as was Emma who organized our installation. The surveyor, Derek, and the engineers, Andy and Bryn, who carried out the work on our boiler replacement and heating overhaul were all extremely professional, so nice to have in the house and produced a result with which we could not be more happy. From a random call we have found a company with whom we hope to have an on-going working/service relationship; they are excellent.

Installation of a new boiler
We have used Smith and Byford for a number of years and the whole experience has been exceptional with this company. The admin staff Emma, Dee and the others are responsive understand the problems and are quick to sort resolutions. We had a problem with our existing boiler, the engineer Will was quick to diagnose. He had the patience to try everything before finally diagnosing the need for a new boiler. Smith and Byford were extremely quick to supply and fit a new boiler, their teams contacted us to ensure everything was working as expected, Andy and Brin two very competent engineers, polite and knowledgeable. We would highly recommend this company, it’s like going back to old values in that they value you as customers and go out of their way to provide an overall excellent service.

After a few years years of annual boiler checks I asked Smith and Byford to install my new boiler. It all took place with minimum disruption and I am very pleased with it. It should save me money with a more efficient boiler and some adjustments to positioning will help with future checks. Everybody is friendly.

Today Jason replaced a bathroom radiator. He called ahead to announce his arrival and arrived within the agreed timeslot. He carried out the replacement efficiently and diligently, taking care of the surrounding fixtures and completing the job perfectly. The invoice is as agreed. Both engineers - Andy & Bren - arrived on time and as a team worked well together. They were very efficient and virtually worked all day without a break.Explained the workings of the new boiler and left the place tidy and clean after they had finished. We were very pleased with the work carried out, in one day and at the price agreed upon. The two electricians were hard-working, polite and careful, including clearing up afterwards. In addition, our advisor in the office (Dee) was helpful in co-ordinating the various parts of the job, so that it could all be carried out on one day. She also obtained answers to all our questions before work commenced. Would certainly recommend this firm for similar work.

The boiler installers arrived promptly at my 94 year old mothers flat and did the work to a professional finish. Andy and Bryn had to remove an old back boiler and water tank, and they managed to hide all of it behind cabinets. They even found time to make mum a cup of tea and fill her hot water bottle. They were polite and courteous, and the site was left clean and tidy. I would recommend them to anyone. The estimator, Del, was also extremely helpful at all times. We advise anyone needing this type of work to be done to use this company.

We needed an additional radiator downstairs. This job went very smoothly from the site visit to the installation. The estimator and the fitters were very personable. They had good office support. At first the rad was set too high, but they reset it for easier future redecoration. It’s a very neat job, at a reasonable price, and they tidied up after themselves. We’re very pleased with this professional organisation, and have no hesitation recommending this local company.

We have had a service contract with Smith & Byford Total Home Solutions since 2016 and have always been delighted with their service. Thankfully, for most of the past 8 years we have only required an annual boiler service and check, but when we have called them in an emergency they have always reacted promptly and made the repairs necessary with no extra charge, such as when the boiler sprang a leak last year. This week we called them out to investigate what we thought was a suspicious smell coming from the boiler, the engineer spent an hour and a half doing various tests and taking readings before he gave the boiler a clean bill of health, to reassure us all was well. Again, this came within our service contract, so no further charges. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone who is looking for excellent service and peace of mind. 5 Stars + !

The service I received on the installation of a new boiler was excellent from start to finish. Customer Service and communication is first class. Nothing is too much trouble.
