Recently had two separate jobs done; firstly pointing, then roof repair/rebuild by Traditional Roofing and couldn't be happier. Quick but thorough workers who left the place clean and tidy, keen to explain everything they had to do and no surprises with the bill - just what was quoted beforehand. Couldn't have asked for better.

Many of the trades involved in this type of heritage work are rare; however, Traditional Roofing carried out the works with ease and expertise. Their team successfully installed the Horsham stone roofing tiles to an exceptionally high standard, which has left both the client and the construction management staff highly impressed. Eddie and his team at Traditional Roofing recently completed a number of repair jobs on our roof: we needed better ventilation in our loft, some of the flashing of the front of the house was leaking, some of the troughs had degraded and the whole roof needed de-mossing. Eddie evaluated the condition of the roof quickly and accurately, and provided me with a competitive quote with each item costed individually, which I appreciated. When we decided to go ahead, Eddie quickly arranged for the scaffolding and organised his team within a fairly short space of time, giving me suitable advanced notice. As for the repair work itself, the team were friendly, professional and diligent, talking me through the process and happy for me to have a close look myself; they stand by the quality of their labour. As I suspected, they found additional concerns during the course of their work (our roof had not been touched in 30 years) such as further loose and broken tiles, and we talked through options as appropriate. I now have a fully fit-for-purpose roof that should be good for the next few years, at least. In summary, I’m very happy with the service I received from Traditional Roofing and would recommend on that basis.

I had a chimney top taken down and a second chimney renovated. This included repointing, replacing flashing and some replacement of tiles. The work was done as specified in the timeframe predicted. The team were polite, friendly, tidy and knowledgeable. I was very happy with the work done.

Eddie and his team were brilliant when they replaced the thatch on our medieval barn with clay tiles in July ’23 …so it was a 'no brainer' to use him again to re-roof our 3-bay garage. As usual Eddie was completely reliable and straightforward. Despite adverse weather the works were finished to the highest standard, promptly and as quoted. His hardworking team typically friendly, conscientious, efficient and tidy. The additional carpentry necessary to replace previous bad joinery was superb. All in all very happy.

The job was to re-felt a large flat roof extension, with a PVC surround. With five people working the job was completed in two days and come in under quote as there was an unforeseen problem. There were a few other issues on the main roof, which were dealt with as well. Altogether very helpful and a pleasant crew to have around.

The work carried out by Traditional Roofing involved preparing and repointing the top 17 courses of brickwork on our chimney stack, applying a water seal and installing a solid fuel cowl to the chimney pot. Eddie and his team carried out the work promptly and efficiently and according to the quote details and cost. He was very professional, gave clear information and timely communication. Before and after photos of the chimney were provided. I have no hesitation in highly recommending this trader.

I employed 2 roofers prior to Eddie. Neither resolved a recurring problem on a section of roof and despite efforts to ask them back, they never did. So I was wary asking another roofer. However, Eddie is completely different. He is refreshing and reassuring. He understood my concerns and genuinely listened to what I wanted done. He also didn't do anymore than was necessary. We agreed to replace a section of roofing (to include new flashings etc) and to repoint a chimney (which was repointed badly by one of the other roofers). Eddie and his employees were polite, friendly and incredibly tidy in their work. I have no hesitation in recommending him and the team and will use their services again when needed. Thank you!

Make no mistake …Eddie is the real deal. Having wasted months dealing with an assortment of roofers messing us around ...(some not bothered or courteous enough to return my initial email enquiry …others unable to keep a simple appointment) ...Eddie was like a breath of fresh air. He was reliable, professional, enthusiastic, prompt with his estimate, had 30 years worth of experience and had a completely realistic approach to costing. We wanted a dependable company to replace the worn out thatch roof on our medieval barn conversion with clay tiles and to add roof lights and 'Traditional Roofing' were the ones entrusted with the job. Following the winter storms two tiles had become detached at the ridge level. Contacted Traditional Roofing who visited a few days later, viewed the work and gave a firm estimate. On acceptance the work was carried out within one week to my satisfaction and without the need for scaffolding. Efficient and professional.

Eddie and team reroofed our house during a renovation and extension project 4 years ago. The quality of the product used is excellent, he and the team were able to come up with innovative yet simple ways of joining the extension and the main house taking account of the unique shapes and requirements for roof lights. We recently had a small issue with a slate and the team came round and fixed it on a Sunday, quickly with no fuss. Can't recommend highly enough.
