Tree Craft Ltd

We have used Tree Craft services for several years, winter and summer for a range of work including hedge trimming, tree and shrub pruning and occasional felling. They have provided us with skilled and courteous service and we've had expert and willing arboreal and environmental advice from their co-director, Richard. Staff work closely to the job specification and check with us regularly to ensure that ongoing tasks are being done as required. Any issues or queries are promptly addressed. We were taken aback to see the previous low-scoring review (2020) which contrasts hugely with our experience and with the otherwise universally positive preceding reports on Trusted Traders. Tree Craft have competitors who are cheaper but we've experienced the work of more budget garden and tree services and prefer the skilled professional work of Tree Craft and their concern for the environment.

Waited six weeks after being booked in to have a large tree taken down. Appeared reticent on initial visit but sent a quote and booked in the job. Quite surprised to have people turning up unannounced and twice banging on my door the day before the work was due to be carried out to put down protection. Arrived an hour later than arranged and after and hour and a half decided they didn't have a chain saw large enough to do the job, weren't prepared to even take down some smaller pieces that it had been agreed were to be done in small sections. Seemed more interested for the time that they were here texting on their phones. Taken a day off work to be here and other work booked in following what was hoped to be a tree removal we have waited weeks for. No real apology or comprehension of problems they have caused. Not at all what I expected from their website and reviews, one of the worst experiences we have ever had when dealing with trades, felt as if there was no integrity and very amateurish and frankly rude and arrogant.

We can thoroughly recommend Treecraft, after several jobs here. They arrived on time, did the job speedily and charged a fair price, they did exactly what they quoted and even swept the street as well the garden. They actually do what you ask rather than what they want to do. You don’t pay them on the day, no cash in hand but get an invoice afterwards, they aren’t super cheap but you get what you pay for.

The task was to fell a very large tree in a very tricky position near a busy main road. Tree Craft managed the entirety of the process, dealing with several regulatory agencies as well as the provider of the heaviest equipment. This went smoothly and quickly so that Tree Craft set and met a very short time schedule. The actual felling and the grinding of a massive root buttress were done rapidly and with a minimum of disruption and mess. The job was done at a competitive price against other highly regarded practitioners. I regard Tree Craft as exemplary in their professionalism, customer care and competence. I recommend them and would not hesitate to use them again.

Tree Craft came on schedule, on time. Cut down a large conifer at the bottom of my garden and removed all debris through my terraced house, without a scratch on the walls or fittings. Left the garden, house and front drive clean and tidy. Good value too. Recommended.

Our 10 year old Eucalyptus was climbing it's way to heaven!! One section was leaning dangerously over two of our neighbours gardens so it just had to go. I contacted Tree Craft for a quotation. The site was surveyed and I received a very professional and detailed quote within a few days. The quote was very competitive and I accepted a few days later. Unfortunately, a few weeks later, we noticed a pair of nesting magpies and felt obliged to inform Tree Craft in case it would jeopardise or delay the works. We were informed the tree could not be felled with nesting birds and the works had to be delayed until the end of the nesting season. I was highly impressed with Tree Craft's ethical and environmental approach and fully respected their decision. The works have just been completed to a very high standard, The team were punctual, extremely professional and left the site tidy and free from any debris. They were working within a very tight drop zone on site and if you'd seen the size of the tree, I'm amazed there was no collateral damage, they were very careful indeed. It's not something you have to cope with on a regular basis, however, if you need a tree felling, consider these guys!! Highly recommended and I would definitely use again should the need arise.

We have used Treecraft for many years to maintain our very long [over 250 feet] and very tall [over 6 feet] mixed wildlife hedge [privet, hawthorn, holly and laurel]. Also we have various trees that need maintenance from time to time. Everybody remarks what a perfect job they do :-) ! Before we found Treecraft we tried various other people but they were all dreadful and made such a mess of everything [presumably because the job was too big for them and/or were not properly qualified]. Also it is such a good deal as they do not charge any more than the 'cash-in-hand-no-VAT' cowboys that destroy more than they maintain. I cannot recommend Treecraft highly enough - they truly are Simply THE BEST :-) !

I contacted Tree Craft after reading the previous positive reviews on the Which? site, I fully endorse the reviews. They thinned out a neighbor's Oak tree that overhangs my garden, they took great care with retaining the shape of the tree and keeping my neighbour happy also. A job well done!
