I contacted TrustGuard looking to have some timbers in my house previously affected by woodworm assessed. Trustguard were really responsive when approached and readily gave advice and a quote about the level of service we needed to fulfil our aims. Trustguard were understanding of our timescales to have the assessment completed and had no difficulty in accommodating this for us. On the day of the visit, the technician arrived on time (and even gave us a call to let us know he was on his way prior!). Don was friendly, knowledgeable and thorough in his assessment whilst at the property. Helpful verbal feedback was provided followed promptly by an email summary of his assessment which we had requested to support the sale of the house. Don understood that getting this back to us on time was really important and required no chasing and everything was done as promised. This level is service and after care is one that other traders should be aspiring to reach. Very pleased with our experience using Trustguard and would recommend them confidently to others.

Carried out a PIV service and filter change in a couple of flats. Have used previously for the install of these systems and they were great then too. Great communication from Don and the team throughout the lead up to work being completed. I had damp proofing completed in my living room and dining room following a survey after purchase of a property. The team arrived promptly each day of work, were thoroughly professional throughout and kept me informed of all the work they were carrying out at all stages. Some damp was discovered when having building work done. Having been let down by the first person we saw, I contacted Trustguard having remembered they'd done some work for us when we bought the house 10 years ago. Stacey in the office was incredibly friendly and accommodating, understanding our predicament (room needing decorating before carpets could go down all the while with growing pressure from wife and kids to get the xmas decs up on 1st December!) and arranged for Don to come out. Don is knowledgeable, friendly and gave a great quote on the spot. He and Jay then turned up on time and constantly cleaned as they went tot he point that I didn't even see a speck of dust which was incredible given the work being done.

I found TrustGuard Damp Specialists from Which magazine Trusted Traders, as I was looking for a recommended company due to a negative experience with another Damp Proofing company. Don came to my flat when he said he would and identified the rising damp patches and gave me a competitive quote straight away. Don also advised me about incorrect information given to me by the other damp proof firm, plus he told me how to improve the ventilation in the flat. When I formally accepted the quote we agreed a date when the work would be completed. On the day Don rang me to tell me when they'd be at my flat. The work was completed on time and Don gave me advice on when I could paint the plaster. Wayne, Don's plasterer also advised me about the painting process. I received an invoice via email which contained payment details. I have recommended TrustGuard to friends because they gave a fair quote, with no attempt to rip me off or give incorrect advice. They turned up when they said they would, and did a good job and the aftercare was in place as Stacey rang me afterwards to ensure that everything was OK.

Phoned Trustgaurd Ltd for an estimate for rising damp in our living room, Don came out on the agreed day and give us an estimate and explained what was involved and also sent us the estimate. Had rising damp issue in living room and hallway.had a quote in the winter and was happy with it but waited until the summer to get work done. Was a big job took a week as they said it would, very happy with work completed. They even did more than expected, doing extra plastering work to match and even out all the walls. Very friendly team. My house was extended many years ago and where the house and the extension meet, the pointing had all cracked from top to bottom. I rang Trustguard and Don came within a matter of days and explained fully what the issue was and how it could be fixed. We had quite a bit of damp remedied . We prepared well covering everywhere with builders polythene as we hadn’t long since had new carpets laid and didn’t want to take them up. We asked the guys to be as careful as they could although we understood it was a dirty job removing plaster from the walls and re plastering. The two guys Don and his pal did a fantastic job and worked as cleanly as they could even getting the Henry hoover out to clean round the edges of the polythene . They arrived at the time they said they would and worked solid completing a job that they said could take 4 days in 2 . The cost came in as quoted and to be honest they did more work than they had quoted for so we were very impressed with that. We would highly recommend and we ourselves would use again if we needed to .

I had a problem with damp and looked online for somebody local who could come out and confirm the problem and hopefully rectify it. After reading the reviews for Trustguard I rang Don who came out and explained the problem and how it could be fixed. I was able to arrange the work to be carried out when the weather got a bit warmer and around my work which was appreciated. I am very pleased with the work which was carried out professionally and to a very high standard by Don and his team. I wasn't looking forward to cleaning up afterward to be honest but I needn’t have worried they left the property as it was, clean and tidy. Communication was great and I was kept informed of the progress by Don while the work was being carried out. I needed a job done quickly while a flat in our house was empty for a couple of weeks. They were very helpful in coming out quickly to assess the job and did it in the tight time frame finishing on the Saturday to keep to the schedule requested by me. Had damp course installed at my property Trustguard arrived on the date arranged and did an absolutely fantastic job, Don did most of the work to a very high standard, would definitely recommend Trustguard, in fact already have done.

Don and the team did damp proofing on an old cottage and the work was carried out exactly as I had been informed and very efficiently and promptly. Although this job creates a lot of mess and rubble the team did a great clean up job and put things back the way they had found them as much as possible. They were punctual, friendly and polite throughout and worked flat out for a full week to get the job done. I would highly recommend them and use them again in future.

This is the second time we have used Trustguard. They installed a damp course for us in January & this time repaired a sprung floor caused by damp rot in our entryway. Don Cellini carried out the work. He was, as always, friendly, helpful, polite, & generous with his time. He explained what had caused the problem, what he would do to remedy it, & before he nailed the floor back into place, showed us what he had done. Afterwards, he removed the old materials leaving us with no clean up & a floor that acts like a floor not a trampoline. As people with little DIY experience & little knowledge of the mysteries of house construction, maintenance & repair, it is very re-assuring & helpful to have someone explain things step by step. The job was completed for a very fair price that matched his quote to the penny. There were no hidden or unexpected costs. Once again, we are delighted with the job Don Cellini carried out. Trustguard quickly diagnosed the cause of my mould problems and recommended the solution of a PIV in my loft, without adding on expensive extras that other companies had recommended. I was impressed by the no frills approach, there was no hard sell of their products & services, just a simple suggested solution, followed by a prompt install. I called TrustGuard as my joiner thought I might have rising damp. Don completed a thorough inspection questioned how often I opened windows, almost never, and ascertained that the problem was condensation, not rising damp. He advised on the correct course of action, the installation of a PIV unit and within a couple of days John came to fit the unit, followed by Steve who connected the unit. Trustguard fitted a ventilation system in Feb for me. As my previous review states, I was delighted with the service I received. However the measure of a great company is the service they provide after they have your money! This company is everything you want. I rang Don to say the system wasn't working. He arranged to come out a couple of days later, checked the system and found we had accidentally switched it off!! Oops! As I apologised profusely....Don was great took it all in his stride and couldn't have been kinder. This really is the service you would like from every company. Brilliant, thank you.

Was buying an old house and an issue was raised with the homebuyers survey of damp in many places, contacted a couple of companies and got and a wide varied of prices which some was over the top saying the whole house needed doing, spoke to Don and asked him to carry out a survey and as you pay for this services they not trying to rip you off. We were given a moving date and arranged with Don to carry out the works ASAP once we got the keys so the work could be done before we moved in, this date fell through and this was not an issue with Don, once we finally moved in at short notice Don carried out the work straight away in the time frame given, the work was carried out by John who was excellent tidying up as he went and the work was to a great standard. Don & John was very helpful from the first conversation to the end of the job.

Don came to give us a quote, he looked around the property himself to see what was needed - this was great for me as I’m currently working from home so I was not disturbed at all. John then came to do the work over 2 days and once again got on with what he needed to do, he cleaned up after himself and was so efficient completing the work.

I would not hesitate to recommend Don and his team at Trustguard. Firstly Don came out at Straight away after contacting him saying I needed work done ASAP. He is professional and knowledgeable...I still had another quote to get from another company but after been impressed with don’s professionalism, knowledge and competitive price I cancelled the other appointment. I contacted trust guard and within 24 hours I had Don at my door. He diagnosed the problem and explained in layman's terms what was needed and more importantly what was not. After an hour of his explanations, I cancelled the two later firms I had also asked to attend my property as this gentlemen is clearly the best company in the North East and if I have found the best then why settle for less. I found his price very reasonable for the amount of work that was to be carried out. Don resolved long standing damp problems in kitchen, sitting room and dining room. Kitchen was particularly bad and other traders had failed to resolve the problem over a number of years. From initial contact to get an estimate through to post job snagging everything was done promptly and efficiently and disruption kept to a minimum. Also everything was explained very clearly. Don recently did a DPC for a chimney breast in a house I rent to professionals. He agreed to do it between Christmas and New Year, which suited the tenants as they were away. He did the job exactly as planned and very professionally. Don has also done two house refubs for me, so it was no surprise that he did this small job well. I would not hesitate to recommend TrustGuard! TrustGuard recently carried out and inspection and some damp proofing at my two bed ground floor flat. I asked for someone to come out urgently and on a certain day. Don was able to come out at this time and did a very thorough inspection of my whole flat, using the latest technology and taking the time to explain all aspects of the problem to me and the options for repair. Don did not recommend any unnecessary work, and in fact tried to talk me into trying a few "self help" remedies in respect of condensation before going to the expense of installing a PIV unit. I took on board Don's advice and decided to deal with some penetrating damp first and review the condensation problem over time. Don was then to complete the job within a week of coming to the property to give me a quote, at a time and day suitable for me. His time estimate (that the job would take only one day) was accurate. TrustGuard charged a reasonable price comparable with other businesses and I felt I got good value for money for the work. The quality of the work was completed to a very high standard. Considering the dust involved in removing plaster Don covered all of my furnishings and left my flat in a very neat and tidy state. All rubbish was taken away - something not every tradesman does these days! Overall I am very impressed with TrustGuard and I will definitely be using them again on other jobs I need doing.
