UK Stairlifts

I rang on a Wednesday and Scott came round to my Dad's house the next day. He measured up and quoted. It was a very good price. Previously the LA (Kirklees) had quoted and it was substantially more, even to the point where my Dad refused to pay and hasn't been upstairs for years. Initially I asked Scott to fit a stair lift that had been gifted to us. It wasn't suitable and Scott explained why, he offered a very fair trade in for the old stair lift. The job was done on the Friday so just 2 days from the initial contact to the stair lift in place and working. We are very pleased with the stair lift. Just so you can see the difference in cost, Kirklees had quoted £5000 and Scott did the job for £1400 plus gave us something for the old stair lift.

I never purchase any item without first consulting Which. I always spend time researching and reading reviews (some with a pinch of salt) before committing. My old boss always said, buy cheap buy twice, buy the best cry once. In this case it had to be Stannah. The stairlift would only be needed for a short period (4 to 6 weeks) whilst recovering from a knee replacement operation. The cost of a new Stannah was out of the question and a Stannah refurbished installation cost the same as other manufacturers new ones. Trust a trader came to the rescue. We chose UK Stairlfts because of good reviews and they supplied refurbished Stannah stairlifts at an affordable price. Communications and fixing a date and time was excellent. On the day Scott kept in touch because we were having family problems and he fitted in with our needs. We had a problem with a 2 step landing a the top of the stairs. This was easily resolved by Scott. Installation (even with fixing the landing problem) took only 3 hours. We can’t thank Scott enough for an excellent job. Scott left the stairs spotlessly clean and tidy. Scott spent time demonstrating all the functions to both of us. The cost was well within our budget and we intend leavening it in place because it takes up little room and we will probably need it later in life. Thank you all at UK Stairlifts for on time on budget installation. I can only recommend you to one and all.

Scott and this company wasted 3 weeks. Very poor communication. Asked for photographs of the stairlift for removal. Sent and eventually replied days later at 22.12 on a Saturday night and I quote "Hi Sue Ill bell you tomorrow" Rang on Monday and arranged to come and take down the stairlift originally supplied by them at 5pm on Wednesday. I messaged on the Wednesday to confirm the appointment but no reply. Waited at 5pm to 7pm and he did not have the courtesy to message he was not coming. Offered £200 for the stairlift that was originally over £4000. Would not buy a stairlift or have any dealings with this company ever again.

The whole process from visit to obtain quotation followed by installation was carried out in a timely manner and done with complete faith in this company.

Scott came twice to check if our property was suitable for a stair lift, even bringing a chair to ensure it would fit correctly following my wife's broken ankle and the urgent need to access the upstairs of our house. There was no sales pressure from Scott and all the details etc of the work to be carried out were provided without delay. Scott fitted the stairlift in very tight timescale. I would recommend this company for its outstanding customer service.

Scott came and did a detailed survey at the beginning of November. It was in no way pressured, no special offers etc.. He was very reassuring. He recommended a bespoke system which was important as there was a lot of furniture to work round. One visitor who quoted for the same job told us some furniture would have to go. This proved to be unnecessary. Installation was on 28th November well withing the time quoted. Scott and Max arrived punctually and proceeded to work quietly without fuss. They left no mess and did exactly what they said they would. They estimated 3 hours, and that was what it was. They were considerate and courteous. After all the work was completed, everything was cleared up and taken away-you would not know they had been. No damage at all to the decor or furnishings was done. Scott took time to demonstrate the stairlift's use and would not leave until he was satisfied that we could use it safely. We were so impressed with their professionalism. Thank you so much Scott.

UK stairlifts engineer was punctual and courteous. It only took 3 days from the first inquiry to the stairlift being installed. The engineer was very helpful and explained in detail haw to use the equipment. A two year warranty (parts and labour) was included. Overall a very good service.

From the very first contact UK Stairlifts were very professional and efficient. The work was carried out within the timescale indicated, everything about the operation was explained clearly and they cleared up afterwards so everything was spotless. Very pleased with their service and workmanship and would certainly recommend them.
