Simon smith was hired to inspect a property due to high damp reading being picked up on a walk during a survey. It’s a Victorian house we’re trying to purchase so it was very important to get more details on this. Simon is very professional, responsive and very thorough in his inspection- demonstrated a high level of expertise in this type of property. In fact he was recommended by a friend! We have been so impressed with the work that has been carried out. Half of the internal wall plasterwork in our old cottage was removed back to the brickwork. Luke, who came to resolve our internal damp problem, worked so neatly and tidily that there was no issue with dust—despite everything being covered in dust sheets, it turned out they weren’t even needed. All debris was neatly bagged and removed. Power points were carefully detached before the insulation and damp treatment began, and Luke happily explained each step of the process as he went along. The insulation panels were carefully cut and applied directly to the brickwork before plastering. The plastering was finished to an exceptional standard. Once it had set, the power points were reinstalled. The walls are now being left to dry properly, following Luke’s advice, and are ready for the original Victorian skirting boards to be refitted. Finally, I must say we are absolutely delighted with the work done—Luke and Wall and Roof Coatings Ltd are a real credit to their trade. In the meantime, we’ve had friends and neighbours come in to admire the results. I highly recommend this company.

We engaged Simon to undertake a damp survey on behalf of a Landlord. The survey was comprehensive and we are working with Simon to progress the remedial works.

Work carried out by Luke and completed the next day. All worked was carried out as per quote. We found Luke to be professional, polite and the area was left clean and tidy. They applied damp proofing to the walls of the building, a first floor flat, the work was carried out without any "ums and ars", and non stopping, once started it was continued to the end of the session, and also done to the agreed budget. Luke arrived on time, and had set up by the time I got to him to welcome him, I had a few questions to ask him, which were answered as though he were teaching me how to do it, so knowledgeable and professional, I felt really at ease. nothing went wrong, but I felt there was nothing Luke could not handle if it did. I've had a problem with penetrating damp on an external wall, and this company (someone called Del) assessed the problem and ensured me in their words "this will definitely sort the problem out". They added a wall coating to about 4 feet wide of the wall and charged me £950 in February 2023, but also supplied a 10 year guarantee. Less than 2 years later the problem has come back, but are they interested? - no! I reported the problem to them on 6th January, but they didn't send anyone round until a month later, who tried to find any reason to say the problem wasn't the same problem covered by the guarantee, he said he'd discuss with Del and get back to me - a month later and I'm still waiting. Their guarantee is worthless in my opinion - SAVE YOUR MONEY, AVOID THIS COMPANY.

We have used Wall and Roof Coatings Ltd since 2016 and have always found them to be professional and extremely knowledgeable concerning their quality products used. On this occasion the company coated the entire outside lower walls with a damp proof membrane followed by a facade coating of resin bonded/vapour permeable protective specialist exterior wall coating treatment. This process took longer then expected due to the poor weather conditions. The work was undertaken by Luke Burgess who we found to be friendly and pleasant in manner, insightful, meticulous to detail and methodical in approach. He made some helpful suggestion when approached for advice and was extremely clean and tidy in his work.

I needed them to carry out a full survey for a remortgage, they managed to book me in quickly and carried out a thorough survey and gave me a detailed report. I forgot to mention that my property had a basement and the mortgage company also needed a report on the attic. Simon came back back pretty much straight away to carry out those two further spaces and updated the report. I would strongly recommend using this company.

The work was to repair blown pebbledash and to apply hydrophobic paint. They have done a great job. They were always polite and considerate to our home, friendly and pointed out other issues that that spotted. The site was left spotless after they had finished.

We had a damp issue in the corner of one of our rooms. I contacted Tony after being recommended his company by a neighbour. I called him and he arranged a viewing of the property, he was on time. On inspection he confirmed the problem was condensation and the moisture was being drawn to the salts in the wall. He is very knowledgeable and did tests with a damp meter to confirm there were no signs of rising damp. He also showed us the readings on the outside of the wall and again confirmed no rising damp. Tony advised the best solution for the issue which we could do ourselves. Even though his services were not required any further his knowledge was very much appreciated.

All of the work was completed over several days by a first rate operative, completed on the specified time and within the quoted cost. We would certainly use this company again if other problems with damp arise.

I understand Luke had a two hour drive to get here but was on time both days. He was friendly, efficient, and when asked questions He was very professional. He cleaned up when finished.
