Having tried to contact electricians in Bridgend where I live but receiving no response to telephone calls, emails, messages left, I decided to try Cardiff and found Mr Williams on Which Trusted Trader. He returned my call within hours and came and carried out the work I required within a week. He is an excellent electrician, the work was all completed to a very high standard and he was happy to give me advice on other aspects of electrics. Even though he had to travel several miles to my house, his price for all the jobs which took a few hours, was extremely fair. Mr Williams was a very pleasant and efficient electrician and cleared up after the work was finished. I would use him again 100%.

Returned from vacation this year to find the power off and the contents of the freezer evolving into new life forms. Over the following few days the power continued to trip off at apparently random intervals, so we called in a professional. Mr Williams was thoroughly courteous and competent, working tirelessly to identify the source of the fault, then propose and implement an effective solution. The work was completed in good time with a minimum amount of disruption, and the costs were very reasonable.

Mark was recommended to us by our daughter. We called him in as we had a few issues with the electrical work which had been undertaken when we had a new bathroom fitted. We needed him to install a replacement infrared fire, and a new isolating switch. In addition, we wanted to reposition a double socket, and change the cable run in the room. He reset the bathroom fan which has adjustments for both Timer and Humidity, and we will in our own time fine tune the settings. He arrived on time, and worked consistently during the time he was here. Like a true professional, he did not pass comment on the quality of the work our previous electrician had exhibited. I needed electrical wiring to be made safe, replacement double socket plug, down lighters and a general thumbs up to the electrics. Mark came to assess the job and then returned to do all the work on Tuesday 7th March. He arrived nice and early on Tuesday 7th March, and spent the whole day dealing with all the issues, Only stopping for a quick cuppa. His workmanship second to none and obviously knew his stuff. We asked Mark to do a variety of electrical jobs - repositioning kitchen lights, fitting outdoor lights, adding a power point etc, some of which required further investigation. He completed these diligently and methodically and we have been really pleased with the work. He also popped back at short notice to fix another light switch. We found him very obliging and a pleasure to deal with, and will certainly be using Mark in future.

We needed some sockets removing and cabling rerouting to accomodate our new kitchen, along with some new downlights. Mark was very professional throughout in his approach to the work and his communication was excellent. He also indentified some previous poor installation and corrected it. Mark rearranged our main bedroom electrical sockets and changed bathroom light fittings. He has a well-deserved high reputation and is much in demand, so it was no surprise that he had to schedule the work to a fortnight after his initial visit at which he inspected the requirement and agreed the budget. True to his word, he arrived punctually, fully prepared and completed the work in good time to a high standard, including carefully making good the necessary channelling work. He also volunteered to put right the fixing of the main bedroom central light - a long-standing minor irritant which he corrected quickly. Mark is highly professional and personable; a good listener and communicator; it's a pleasure to have him in our home.

He has been twice - to remove spotlights from the kitchen ceiling, in order that it could be re-plastered, and then returned to fit new lights as well as replacing electrical sockets. Williams Electrics were fantastic. My oven recently stopped working and I contacted him for help. He had helped us with the same problem 4 years ago. He replied straight away and booked me in for his earliest slot (which was very quick - a day or 2 later). He came to assess the oven and thoroughly checked it over. Straight after leaving, he kindly went out of his way to find the part we needed. I was very pleasantly surprised when he called back to say he could fit it promptly that afternoon. Within an hour and a half, he had assessed the oven, bought a new part and come back to fit it. Very efficient, reliable, professional, friendly and skilled man. And extremely reasonable price. Work involved checking/replacing a double socket, three security lights, cloakroom light and fan. Mark kept to the agreed schedule, texting in advance when he was unavoidably delayed for an hour. We had two tiny jobs and two queries so it didn't look like an attractive call to make and two earlier electricians whom we knew did not bother even to take a look. Had a number of minor electrical jobs to be done from fitting outside light to mending a plug to installing a completely new double socket. All done in a day, on time and within areed quote. Mr Williams discussed pros and cons and how he would do the job if it impacted on what could be seen. Also about where the outside light could be installed without loads of extra work. Liked that a lot. Would definitely use again and recommend to others.

Engaged with Mark to determine how best to provision an electrical supply to a new outbuilding. Having taken on-board Mark's advice we agreed that I would dig the trenches and run/clip all the cables - all as specified by Mark - whilst Mark took responsibility for terminating all connections, testing all circuits and issuing the final certificate. As we had to work around other trades (and the weather!), Mark was extremely flexible and managed to make himself available precisely when we needed him - this was greatly appreciated. Mark's work was neat and tidy and he went to great lengths to ensure that he did not create any additional mess - especially when switching from working from outside to inside. Communication by both Text & Mail was efficient and we were never left feeling that we didn't know when Mark would be with us and what he'd been doing whilst he was with us. I thought Mark's rates were fair and easily understood without scope for misunderstanding, and I would without question engage his services again should they be required.

Project: taking out my gas hob and fitting in a Zanussi induction hob (Which? Best Buy recommended). Running a cable from Trip box to the cooker, concealing it in a tidy way, tidy fitting, circuite testing and tidying up after the job. Before taking the job: Polite, courteous, no cowboy bragging ( a sure sign you will end in trouble and excuses or ditch you and run away). Gave me a clear estimate and spelled out the details of how it would be done. ADvised me on the Best options as well as the Cheap options ( I went for the BEST OPtions- remember , a kitchen evolves in the hands of good cook- plan ahead!). The work was done on time, in hours not days. I was happy to trust him and leave a key with him as I could not take time off. He tidied up after wards and left the work clean. It was a great relief to have an electrician I could trust with my new home appliance and my house. Also the cats said he was great and nice to them! He sent me a detailed invoice which showed all the things he had done. The total bill was quite affordable and below what I had expected. I will be using him on future projects, without a doubt.

I phoned Mark to quote for installing smoke alarms and carrying out some electrical repair work. He immediately arranged to call round the same day and gave a very satisfactory estimate. The work was completed two days later including an extra item which only came to light after his initial visit. Mark was a pleasure to have in the house. He was tidy & worked non-stop, even coming in under his already very competitive estimate due to finishing half a day sooner than expected. In a kitchen with notoriously hard engineering bricks, Mark installed new, chased-in cabling, isolator switches/sockets & RCBOs for oven and halogen hob. He also repositioned some existing sockets and added a new double socket for extractor fan. He was thorough on his quotation visit (being the only electrician that checked that the Crabtree consumer unit wasn't using MCBs that are now discontinued) and when discussing the cable routing, didn't just go for the route that was easiest for him to install. He was also very prompt in sending on the associated certificate. I have no hesitation in recommending Mark and will use him again for any future work.

I’d managed to short circuit our kitchen that has countless sockets. Mark fitted us in at short notice. He is a gentleman, makes you think of how traders all used to be.
