Wimbledon Window Company Limited

This review relates back to my windows which were fitted in 2014 and still are under warranty. The front of my house is being rendered and as the pebbledash was being removed, I was shocked to discover that the windows at the front of the house had been fitted with barely any insulation (foam or otherwise). As soon as the plastic mock tudor fascia was removed you could see the exposed brickwork and on one window the void was huge. No wonder the rooms at the front of the house always feel cold! I emailed Wimbledon Windows to raise this point and they quickly replied to say that had I contacted them about them before about the coldness they would have investigated. Fortunately my builders immediately made good the problems, including the void above one window which was dangerous (in their opinion as there was no support). Given the reputation of Wimbledon Windows I was disappointed that the windows were fitted without any insulation- it would have been a quick job to do it properly. I asked if they would contribute to the extra work undertaken by my builders but they declined. Instead I was told that- 'The industry and building regulations standard at the time was a C rated window, even without fully insulating these will comply with an A rating' That is good to know that I got A rated windows fitted with uninsulated gaps all around them. Just be sure to check that all the gaps around are filled would be my advice.
