Replacement Windows
Used Window Advice Centre to replace all of our existing UPVC windows. From day one we had a clear understanding of the work required, the estimated cost, and the anticipated timescale. In practice, all of the contract elements were met. Found dealing with Window Advice Centre staff extremely easy, they were very helpful and able to provide guidance and reassurance at all times, additionally we were kept fully informed throughout the period of the contract.

Excellent service
I have used Windows Advice Service twice now, for my own home and for my mother's house. They were superb from start to finish - their service gives you peace of mind that you're getting a top quality installation from a reputable contractor, and the final inspection makes sure that everything is perfect before you pay the bill. Highly recommended.

Window Advice Centre
What a great service. The Window Advice Centre took away all the stress of obtaining and comparing quotes for our new windows and doors, and we knew that they would be from reputable companies. They were also there when we needed them during installation. When there was a hiccup with one of our new windows the WAC stepped in and immediately resolved the problem for us. It was very reassuring to have an independent party to advise us. We highly recommend them.

Really good service
The Windows Advice Centre made the process of buying new windows very simple & straight forward. They measured up our windows and helped understand what we wanted, they then put this out to tender. It meant that we had 1 person in the house rather than 10 different companies. Ken has been an incredible support with guiding me through the window buying process, including guidance on the council planning application, and continued support once the windows were installed. I'd recommend the company to everyone.

Excellent Service from Window Advice Service
Window Advice Service has taken the strain from me in choosing which Double Glazing Company to install my new windows and doors. They send out an expert to go over every aspect of the process with you and give advice on what is available. After coming to a decision on types of doors, windows, handles etc the work is put out to tender to companies which have been thoroughly vetted by them. I then received tenders from several companies, detailing costs for each item to be installed. I chose one, signed the contract with them, paid a deposit and two months later everything was done. My contractor was first class and I could not be more pleased with the results. Only after the work was inspected by George, the expert from from the Window Advice Service, was the balance paid. I would recommend using this service as you don't have a stream of double glazing salesmen coming to your home from firms that you know little about.

A happy return customer
I first used WAC about 23 years ago and they were my first and only choice when i decided to get new windows. The consultant, George, was very friendly, knowledgeable and listened to my requirements. He didn't blind me with too much jargon, and answered my questions without jargon. He came back a week later not only with the agreed and full window specification, but also quotations from around 5 contractors. Having been a customer before I knew that due to the work that WAC puts in to vet and monitor their approved contractors, I could accept the lowest tender without any worries. George then came back the day after my installation was completed and checked everything was as agreed and that I could safely pay the balance to the company. This business has served me well twice now. I have been recommending them since my first double glazing work and will continue to do so. It is great to be relieved of all the stress and worry over potential pitfalls that still exists in the double glazing market. A company that truly represents the client interest is a rare commodity, and as a repeat customer I have to say that they're still providing me with the standard of service and technical expertise that made me choose WAC all those years ago.

Excellent Professional Service: Expert knowledge, Customer Friendly and Highly Effective
We wanted to install new sash and case windows and a large door and surround in a Victorian house in a Glasgow Conservation Area. A neighbour told us about the Window Advice Centre (WAC) and we’re so glad. WAC completed a survey with a detailed specification to ensure that everything would be of the highest quality at the right price and complying with all legislative and regulatory requirements. They then put this out to tender with all of their supplier contractors, helping us to shortlist and choose the most competitive. Last week our installation was completed successfully by an excellent contractor and we’re delighted. WAC stayed with us throughout the process and were very responsive to our requests for advice and support throughout the process. We can’t thank them enough and would highly recommend then.

First class service
Used Window Advice Centre after a recommendation from a neighbour. The best thing I have done in a long time. No hard sell, no pressure from anyone. Just good sound advice explained simply. You get to choose which supplier to use from a list of supplied quotes that have been obtained by Ken at WAC. Don't put yourself under undue stress going to four or five companies sending commissions based salesmen to your home, ( who don't want to leave until they try and convince you to buy their product.) Contact WAC and it's sorted with ease of mind. First class service as it should be. Well done Ken at Window Advice Centre.

Expert advice resulted in planning consent
Highly recommend the team for their input in obtaining planning permission to instal iPVC windows in place of timber-framed windows in a conservation area. The initial feedback from planning was that the replacement windows needed to be timber framed. The team got to work and put together detailed submissions over a period of some months as the application dragged on. Eventually there was a successful outcome Would not have received the planning green light without their expert advice and persistence

Excellent Double Glazing Advice and Service from start to completion
I engaged the Window Advice Centre in Glasgow to give me support replacing the over 90 year old Sash and Casement windows, containing lovely Leaded Top Lights, in our recently purchased Bungalow. Having contacted a few companies myself and been informed, " No son you can't keep the leaded windows or incorporate them in double glazed units", I visited WHICH? of whom I am already a long time member. Found the contact number for WAC Glasgow, phoned them left a message, was contacted quickly and arranged a visit by one of their consultants, George Dunn, who gave us excellent advice regarding what was available and took us through the process from measuring up to completion and snagging. He then carefully measured, put together the tenders, including our specifications, issued them and we received quotes from five of their "Recommended Contractors". We chose Ace Windows and everything was installed over 3 days by superb and tidy installers, who worked hard and kept us updated at all times. A couple of very minor snags were dealt with very quickly. I cannot thank Window Advice Centre(Glasgow) enough for all the advice and the checks on installation completion, they made everything very easy for my wife and I. Yes our Leaded Lights have been taken for refurbishment and will be returned soon to be installed in the Top Lights to bring the character back to our home. The house is much warmer and our neighbours are pleased with how the Sash style blends in to the character.

Brilliant service, so easy and cost effective. Window Advice Centre is definitely the way to go. The consultant from Window Advice Centre genuinely worked for us to get the best solution for the best price and then came back to check that everything was up to standard before approving payment to the contractor, real peace of mind! Would definitely recommend these people.

Highly recommended service, replacing original windows with weather-rated double glazing on our south-facing sea-front property. Professional, knowledgeable and courteous staff, with absolutely no obligation to buy and no salesmen! Followed by a very clean and tidy installation. Excellent advice and service from start to finish.

Appalled at the service
Sadly we are appalled at the service (or rather lack of it) of the Dundee Window Advice Centre. We have made repeated attempts since July 2021 to obtain advice. We have spoken to them on the phone and e-mailed our requirements. We have even sent them a detailed specification of our needs including a few questions. Despite assurances that they would respond on a number of occasions we have had nothing. They have never given any explanation for their behaviour despite numerous opportunities to do so. Very sad to have to leave thus review to what is a Which Trusted Trader.

Very knowledgeable and helpful
I phoned for advice as I thought that I needed work done to my existing windows to prevent condensation. I had phoned other contractors who had quoted me in the region of £1000 for repairs or £7500 to replace windows. I phoned the Window Advice Centre and spoke with Ken who was very knowledgeable and patient even though my phone kept cutting out. He established the problem and explained in as much detail as I asked for about what was happening and how I could change how I used the windows to prevent the problem, advising that i did not need to change/ retrofit vents to the windows. He had saved me spending a significant amount of money unnecessarily, and when the time comes that I do need to replace the windows this will absolutely be my first call.

Peace of mind!
The replacement window market is full of pitfalls and unscrupulous salesmen with the usual high pressure sales techniques of “Sign-up today!” After suffering from 2 or 3 of the usual high street names, I chanced upon WAC on the Which website. I particularly liked WAC’s business model of impartial advice, discussing/agreeing the best solution for me, preparing a comprehensive enquiry document and then obtaining separate competitive quotations from known contractors. They then oversee the installation works and carry out a final inspection. The end result is great. I didn’t know old stained glass could be incorporated within double glazed units. It’s a bonus to have kept this feature of our house. Ask for Ken Hislop –he has forgotten more than you or I will ever know about windows and double glazing. I will use WAC again.

Which? Local Review
This is an excellent service which is free at the point of use. The consultant is extremely knowledgeable about the type of windows allowed under planning regulations. He explains what is possible and arranges 8 or so estimates from installation companies on the Centre's list of approved companies. When the work is done the consultant checks that the proper materials have been used and that the work is up to standard before final payment is made. The deposit paid and the company's guarantee are both covered by the Centre's insurance policy.

Which? Local Review
Needed double glazing windows and new porch to our mid-terrace bungalow. I put our needs in the hands of W.A.C. who arrange a meeting with an independent consultant who discusses ou needs and options. Tenders for the job are sent out, returns discussed with the consultant and final decision (s) made. No pressure, no commitment at any point until contract is signed. Whole process was reassuring, highly efficient and excellent value for money, including a 10 yr. Policy of Insurance underwriting the installing company's guarantee. Consultant is available at every stage of process.
