Matt installed Solar panels for us in 2012 - he was a clean and tidy worker who delivered exactly what he said he would. 2 years ago, we ordered a battery from a 'Bulk Purchase' scheme through Surrey CC - NOT Windsor Solar. The battery was installed and never worked. Once we had had it removed, I decided to ask Matt at Windsor Solar to quote for a Tesla Battery. Like the first time we met in 2012, Matt explained the process, explained the scale and scope of the work, explained the difficulties with battery supplies and gave me a price. Once we decided to move forward, the battery was ordered and Matt kept in touch to keep us up to date on delivery schedules and then gave me an installation date. Once again, his work was immaculately tidy and precise. All the necessary permissions were sought and Certificates supplied. From day 1, the battery has worked exactly as promised! What a change from the Surrey CC Bulk Buy contract. The battery is saving us money, storing excess power from the Solar Panels that used to go to the grid. When there isn't enough sun to recharge the battery, we charge it on the off-peak rate to use during the peak rate period. Another great install - thanks for your expertise Matt. Having reviewed 4 quotes for Solar PV and Battery, Windsor Solar was the second lowest in cost/kWp. Matthew came and discussed his quote in detail and we were able to fine tune the design ending up with the lowest cost and much better value/kWp. As an independent trader he is able to choose from a range of suppliers. We have a 16 panel solar array (5.25kWp) and a Tesla Powerwall battery that can charge with surplus solar power or from the grid on low cost night time energy. The battery and the control hardware were fitted very neatly in a hall cloakroom cupboard. Matthew and Carl were both timely and very neat. As a retired engineer I have an eye for detail and I found no fault. One item was faulty and the replacement delayed the final commissioning but throughout the process Matt was very communicative. There was no pressure for up front payments and the payment schedule was over three payments. Matt will be completing the project next year with an EV Chargepoint in the garage. I would highly recommend Windsor Solar as a local, very knowledgeable supplier.
