Finesse Windows Ltd has been named Which? Trusted Trader of the Month for December 2025.

This is the seventh time this company has won this award, reflecting their consistently high level of service. They first scooped up a win in July 2017, and won Which? Trusted Trader of the Year in 2021.

The company designs, manufactures and fits windows, working across the West Midlands.

We caught up with Ellie Franklin, Customer Care Director at Finesse Windows, to talk about some of the recent developments the company has had, and how being a Which? Trusted Trader has impacted business.

44 years of innovation

Finesse was founded in 1981 by David Bridge and Peter O’Neil. It is now run by David’s children Ellie and Russell, and has grown to employ a close-knit team of over 30 people, including designers, fabricators, installers and surveyors, plus customer service and office staff.

Since the company’s last win, the team has developed their services using AI, introducing a number of measures including a digital system to cross-check order details and contracts, and another to create bespoke designs.

They have also opened a window from the showroom to the factory, allowing customers to see the products being made.

However, these innovations haven’t detracted from their focus on customer care.

‘At Finesse, caring for customers goes far beyond supplying windows and doors. It’s about kindness, integrity and doing the right thing,’ said Ellie.

‘From fitting free sash jammers for a customer’s father with dementia, to creating a filmed showroom tour for an elderly lady who couldn’t manage the stairs, what matters the most to us is taking care of people.

‘Our Managing Director recently found himself, quite literally, in the skip, after a customer suddenly decided they wanted to keep their old door knocker! Russell jumped straight into action, sifting through half the contents until he recovered the treasured item.’

This commitment to care is reflected in the company's reviews - Finesse has an outstanding 4.9 stars from 376 verified reviews on the Trusted Trader website.

‘Finesse is the name of the firm and aptly describes the quality of their work,’ said one happy customer in the West Midlands. ‘They have reasonable prices and courteous staff. They went to a good deal of trouble to set up arrangements which suited our schedules. Coordination of the scaffolders, the asbestos removal and the installation of the new materials was most efficient and all parties kept to their schedules.’

Another customer from Worcestershire wrote: ‘We felt very welcome when we popped into the showroom. The prices were very reasonable for such a quality product. The fitters came on time and treated our home with real respect. Everything was amazing and I wouldn’t hesitate to ask Finesse to do future jobs.’

Investment in developing talent and charity

As well as investing in its customers, Finesse also focuses on developing talent in the local area.  The company’s apprenticeship programme has supported young people through NVQ Level 3 and FENSA card achievements, with several now experienced enough to train others.

‘We were especially proud when our first female installer achieved her full qualification and became a fully accredited installer,’ said Ellie. ‘She is helping to break barriers in what is traditionally a male-dominated trade and is inspiring others to follow.

‘Her hard work was recognised when she won the Birmingham Awards Young Achiever of the Year 2025, a superb achievement that reflects her dedication.’

Finesse’s charity work includes a toy donation drive with local charity shops, and donations to a local foodbank in recognition of long-service members.

Members of staff have also completed a triathlon and 100km run to raise money for charity.

Which? Trusted Traders generates business

‘Which? has such a strong reputation for consumer advocacy, so joining the Trusted Trader scheme was a natural fit,’ said Ellie.

‘Many customers tell us that our Which? endorsement gave them reassurance when making their decision. It sets us apart as a company that does things properly, with transparent service and consistently high standards.’

Finesse displays the Which? Trusted Traders logo across their uniforms, vans, website and customer communications.

‘Which? Trusted Traders is more than just a scheme or a logo,’ said Ellie. ‘Its ethos serves as a constant reminder for us to keep improving and to ensure that every customer’s journey with us is both professional and enjoyable.’

Congratulations to Finesse Windows for winning December 2025’s Which? Trusted Trader of the Month award.
