The judging panel was impressed by their high standards and commitment to challenging confusion in a complicated industry. 

We spoke to Susan Green, Office Manager of ACD Electrical Green-Tech, to find out more about the business and the benefits of being a Which? Trusted Trader.

The team is aware that the solar industry can be complicated for consumers as difficult decisions need to be made when installing some technologies. 

‘We’re passionate about protecting customers from being misled or rushed into decisions,’ says Susan. ‘Unfortunately, not everyone operates with the same level of integrity. That’s why we encourage people to take their time, ask questions, and never feel pressured. We don’t chase after quotes or push for quick decisions, instead, we focus on clarity, honesty, and trust. In today’s world of online quotes and remote transactions, that personal interaction makes a huge difference, it helps people feel reassured, confident, and truly understood.’

In November, ACD Electrical Green-tech launched its Free Solar Energy Coffee Morning, a drop-in session where anyone can join for a chat, coffee, pasty or cream tea. 

They intend for it to become a quarterly event where consumers can find out what to look out for when choosing an installer, how to check if solar energy is right for their property, examples of what batteries and inverters look like and where they can be situated, common pitfalls to avoid when reviewing quotes or system designs, and more.
