Good Energy has been named Which? Trusted Trader of the Month for June 2025.
The company installs air source heat pumps, solar panels, batteries and EV chargers in homes across the South of England.
It also provides home energy, with 100% renewable electricity tariffs, including specific heat pump and EV charge tariffs, as well as a greener gas tariff. Good Energy is a B-Corp and Which? Eco Provider.
We caught up with Lizzie Beland, Senior Heat Pump Specialist at Good Energy, to talk about some of the company's recent developments, and how being a Which? Trusted Trader has impacted business.

Simple, caring and transparent service
Installing a heat pump can be a daunting process, which is why Good Energy places customer care at the heart of their business model: ‘For us, it’s not just about installing a heat pump, it’s about helping and educating people to take the steps towards a greener home,’ says Lizzie. ‘We want to ensure our customers’ journeys feel easy and supported from their first interaction.’
When customers reach out to Good Energy they are provided with a free initial quote within minutes.
They can also access advice from experts in a virtual or in-person consultation, the cost of which will be removed from the service if the customer proceeds.
The company then gathers a lot of information, including heat loss data, to create a detailed heating system plan.
Installations are carried out by a team of three - a heating engineer, an electrician and a trainee - and take five days on average. The end-to-end service includes removing the old boiler, and all the experts are MCS certified (the MCS is a quality assurance scheme that certifies both heat pumps and their installers).
After installation, Good Energy offers extensive after-care. This includes digital check-ins to identify any faults and ensure the pump is running as efficiently as possible - saving customers money and hassle.
This commitment to care is reflected in the company’s outstanding reviews.
‘Preparation for the work was excellent with all my questions clearly answered, a schedule was set for our convenience, and we received plenty of information,’ says one customer from Dorset. ‘Any installation challenges in our 100-year-old house were easily resolved with minimal disruption. The system creates very little noise, and it’s very satisfying to be leaving a cleaner planet for our grandchildren!’
Another customer from Nottinghamshire says: ‘The team at Good Energy were communicative, professional and dependable. The installers ensured my system was set up to maximise its benefits and efficiency, and I’ve been able to just “set it and forget it”. We’re a family of four with two young children and the house has remained consistently warm and comfortable throughout the coldest months. We’ve also seen big savings on our energy bills. I would highly recommend Good Energy.’
Working for a greener future (and cheaper bills)
Across its charity and commercial work, Good Energy endeavors to demonstrate how effective heat pumps, and other sources of green energy, can be.
The company recently transformed Southsea Model Village (which includes houses and business) by adding heat pumps, solar panels and electric vehicles.
Good Energy’s heat pump tariff, which has been awarded a Which? Eco Provider and B-Corp, , lowers costs by taking advantage of off-peak electricity prices, based on actual heat pump usage patterns.
Finally, they also offer bespoke solar panel systems, which come with 25-year product warranties and can be installed with a heat pump or without. The company’s exclusive export tariffs mean you could make up to 25p/kWh selling your electricity back to the grid.
Investment in gender equality and salary transparency
Good Energy passionately supports gender equality, and has taken a number of measures to promote gender equality within the business, including enhanced maternity, paternity and shared parental leave, and flexible working.
The company is also a founding partner in the Show the Salary campaign, which encourages businesses to publish salaries in their job adverts to help promote equality in job recruitment.
Which? Trusted Trader endorsement inspires confidence
‘Being certified by Which? Trusted Traders has significantly strengthened our reputation and built greater confidence with our customers,’ says Lizzie. ‘The endorsement helps reassure potential customers of our credibility and commitment to quality and sets us apart in the heat pump installation market.
‘In addition, the independent complaints process gives customers extra peace of mind, knowing that if something does go wrong, there’s a trusted, fair system in place to resolve it. This added layer of accountability has helped increase trust.’
Good Energy uses the Which? Trusted Trader logo on their uniforms, vehicle graphics and website, social media and customer communications.
‘The Which? Trusted Trader accreditation highlights our track record and showcases our pride in the work we do,’ says Lizzie. ‘It helps to demystify the technology and reflects genuine customer opinions that are externally verified.’
