A recent satisfied customer said: 'We had a big move from Norfolk to Devon, and from the very beginning, Hadley and Ottaway were second to none. I had about 7 different quotes from various moving companies and the "quote visit" was what really stood out to me. The person who visited really took their time to see what we needed, whilst also talking me through the process and what to expect. After the quote came through, it was an immediate decision to go with them. The communication with the office in the interim whilst we were securing a date for the new rental was fantastic. Everything was laid out very clearly and it was very easy to follow. On the day, they arrived bang on 7am and worked tirelessly to put everything on the van. At both locations, every walkway was protected and door covers were put on doors to protect from bumps and marks. Arriving at the new rental, they were already there waiting to go. As soon as we had the keys and opened up, they got straight to it, making sure everything was in the right rooms. I would choose them again hands down. Perfect service and really put my mind at ease throughout.'
High standards and community commitments
Hadley & Ottaway were a founding member of the BAR (British Association of Removers) and follow the standards and practices expected of this scheme.
If the company goes out of business and someone has already paid for a removal, the scheme means they'll either be fully refunded or their move will be completed by another BAR company.
The company has been donating £20 from every removal to Centre 33, a Cambridge-based charity that helps young people by offering support with mental health, housing, finances and employment advice. To date, they’ve raised thousands of pounds,
One of the Which? Trusted Trader of the Month judges said: 'There’s good evidence of customer care throughout the moving process. The support for Centre 33 and the wider local community is great, while the quality standards, staff development and focus on continuous improvement show a clear commitment to doing things properly.'
Which? Trusted Trader status puts customers at ease
David explained why the company decided to join Which? Trusted Traders: 'I felt we needed a platform that would be representative of the quality services that we consistently provide and where consumers could choose our company safe in the knowledge that it would do what it states it does! Our mantra is “Proven not Promised”. My sales team regularly tells me how much our customers like the fact we are a Trusted Trader. It helps put the clients mind at ease.'
'It also acts as a powerful endorsement. The rigorous vetting process and the association with the respected Which? brand signal to consumers that a business is trustworthy, reliable, and committed to high standards. We feel this has enhanced our reputation and is a decisive factor in attracting new customers and converting quoted work into accepted work.'
