A long Which? history
John has grown up with Which? for all of his life - his Dad proudly had the first ever copy of Which? magazine! John states:'The whole concept of the unbiased reviews and independence has kept me an avid Which? reader.' With that in mind, it was a no-brainer for John to join Which? Trusted Traders, having been recommended on Which? Local since 2009.
'For years, we had ignored other sites that were supposedly ‘vetted’, but with Which?, we wanted to be associated with what is clearly ‘the’ most respected consumer organisation there is. Initial scepticism about it being commercial was dashed by the tough assessment procedure that made up the endorsement scheme, and the comfort in knowing that not everybody was going to make the grade.'
Respectability
John explains how his endorsement helps inspire confidence with his customers. 'From our clients’ viewpoint, Which? Trusted Traders has the respectability that other recommendation sites lack - that association with Which? We are always happy to point out that we applaud and adhere to the code of conduct, giving added protection to the consumer. Which? Trusted Traders has really taken off now, and the vast majority of our new enquiries quote Which? as their source. It is always important to emphasize any legally required organisations on our documentation and promotional material, like ‘Gas Safe’ for instance. We have long produced our own reminders, labels and cards for boiler services and inspections, but incorporating Which? Trusted Traders adds such a powerful endorsement to our profile.'
Speaking of powerful endorsements - John has amassed an incredible number of customer recommendations on Which? Trusted Traders. He explains how he's been able to garner such incredible customer feedback, and what it means to his business: 'Although we always strive to go that extra mile, really we are only trying to do any job the way that it should be done in the first place, and not cutting corners. With client reviews, we are always humbled by such kind comments and really appreciate each and every person who has taken the time to put pen to paper or finger to keyboard. As a small family business, kind words mean so much to us, hopefully reviewing not just a particular job, but reflecting our overall values and ethics in business and life. John's dedication
John has dedicated his Which? Trusted trader of the month award to his late Mother in Law, Patricia Tanner (1920-2015) who sadly passed away earlier this year: "She was the most wonderful Mother In Law anybody could ever wish for. Somebody who held very little material, but was an inspiration and would do anything for anybody.She had values from the heart that we could all be proud of."
