We've had a very positive experience on our roofing job. James and Will who did the installation were professional, polite, respectful and I can't fault their workmanship. Materials used were of a high quality and everything fitted was as requested. Communication was great, plus I was told of what was being done at every stage. I wanted to add some lighting and it was made very easy for me to get the cabling in before the insulation, membrane and tiles were fitted. The finished result was actually better than I expected it to be so we are very happy. We've already asked A1 Bespoke to do another job for us.

We had a full pitched roof replacement and also two flat dormer roofs and a bay window roof, all reroofed with EPDM rubber. One dormer was also insulated and clad. The work was all done to the agreed budget. It took slightly longer than scheduled but this was due to the weather. When Mike came to discuss the job, he was very knowledgeable, gave us the options and a very detailed quote, the materials used were of a high quality. Throughout the job, they were easy to contact if there were any queries, worked well, did an excellent job and always cleaned up at the end of the day. Any issues were quickly resolved to our satisfaction.

I cannot rate this company or the guys working there highly enough. They came when scheduled, on time every time, worked really hard, did a brilliant job and afterwards when my lovely new roof was on could not have been more helpful with a few snags. Mike is really quick to respond, your never left waiting or wondering what’s happening. The guys were all great, neat and tidy (questionable taste in music) and despite them banging around putting a new roof on (which obviously is a noisy job) you barely noticed them! I would recommend them to anyone in need of a roofing job.

We discovered a leak in the sloping roof over our garage, near a Velux window. I thought it was a fault with the window, but then saw that a slate had slipped out above it. I rang 2 roofers recommended by Which? and both promised to come and look at it. They arrived within a couple of days of the call, and gave me a date and a reasonable price to fix this simple problem. The work was done on the agreed date, and the leak stopped. I asked the man who came about the state of the felt under the slate, and he said it was fine, and that the roof was in pretty good condition, which was very helpful. I would certainly use A1 Bespoke again.

I have been wholly unsuccessful in getting a roofer to come to the house and it has been immensely frustrating and time wasting as I have chased up several who have said they would come and haven’t showed up. Mike was on recommendation from a good friend and so I thought I had nothing to lose. Wow! Actual customer service! Mike phoned me to discuss the job, came to look at it, emailed me photos and a quote, called to say when the roofers would arrive and then updated me if dates had to change. At the end of the process, I was taken around the house and shown all the jobs done. I was also advised as to future possible considerations that were not urgent right now. The team was courteous and the approach to the work was intelligent and practical. Communication was excellent. I won’t hesitate to go back when other work is needed and indeed for annual roof checks and gutter clearing.

Mike came out to quote for the chimney stack which was letting rain in through to the loft this was repaired by another roofer previously but not to a decent standard. Mike explained the problem in layman's terms and I had no hesitation to give him the go-ahead. The work was carried out very professionally and extremely satisfied with the job. Mike and his team came to my property last week and 3 years ago. First job was to make the loft accessible from a box room with a proper hatch and ladder, instead of the original landing hatch, and boarded it for me. Since then I have had the chimney stack removed and this both left a hole and damaged the flooring. The team came back and repaired, replaced and secured it totally! I’ve 2 kittens so don’t want them getting trapped in the roof eaves area, so securing it was essential. All work done in a few hours, brilliant guys, with zero mess. Courteous, professional, considerate. I cannot praise them highly enough and have no qualms in recommending them!

Mike responded to my request for a quote to repair my roof which was leaking at both sides of the dormer. He assessed the problem and provided a written quote for the work. The guys who came to do the repair did an excellent job, re-clad the dormer sides and fitted high quality lead flashing to the dormer sides and chimney. They were very neat and tidy workers and always kept me informed of what they were doing.

A1 have re-roofed the top of the house, the single storey kitchen extension and the front porch. The owner, Mike, explained the options and the materials he would recommend – very slightly more than the standard but very much better quality / value – and gave a very detailed quotation for what was needed. Everything was completed to the quoted price and my wife and I are very pleased with the finished product. Special credit goes to James and Will, who did the roofing, and to Chris, who dealt with the pointing, for their efficiency and good humour despite the worst weather of the winter. Very nice people to deal with and highly recommended.

A1 Bespoke completed a slate re-roof of a lean to kitchen extension. Mike explained very clearly what could be done to remedy the problems with the roof. The work was completed as planned and within the agreed price. The team completed the work despite seriously cold and wet weather. I had a couple of questions regarding long-term maintenance after the work was completed and these were answered very quickly. I was very happy with the work and would definitely recommend the company.

Saved the Day! Emergency replacement of dangerous cast iron down pipe

While trying to clear a blocked outside drain we discovered a horror story. Our cast iron downpipe, which had been hidden behind vegetation was not only blocked but split through part of the way up and in danger of falling any time. Fortunately Mike at A1Bespoke came to our rescue after three other companies were either too busy or didn't call back. After sending photos of the problem Mike called back with a very reasonable quote and confirmed that someone would be with us later the same morning. James turned up promptly as promised complete with all the required parts and kit to do the job.He worked very efficiently and was friendly and gave helpful advice about our other issues as the wall now needed repointing. The finished job was very professional and all was left clean and tidy. Would highly recommend.

Contacted Michael on the phone having researched good feedback through which traders. Michael arranged a visit the same day to asses the work required to replace a flat roof on a detached double garage. He explained the best solution would be to install a Firestone rubber roof solution, the current covering was the old felt type and the decking was chipboard which had damp patches. Michael provided a detailed quotation, explaining the works, to replace the decking, new rubber covering, new facia's and guttering. His team are hardworking honest and efficient, they kept me updated and tuned up when they said. Price was competitive, and cleaned up and provided a skip for all the roofing rubbish.

Flat roof - Really pleased with the job
I had my flat roof on the loft extension replaced with new OBS boards and Firestone rubber (previously felt). I had a visit from Mike who sent me a quote and a few weeks later the work had been completed. The job is really good and the difference it has made to the inside noise and the outside look is excellent. The two guys that did the job were really helpful and did me a few extra favours whilst on the roof. They removed all the rubbish and left everything tidy, finished the job in the planned two days. Would highly recommend.

Mike came to replace a couple of cracked roof tiles for me and I found him to be honest, punctual, reliable and reasonable regards his charges. He was knowledgable and professional and I have no hesitation in recommending him and personally I will use him again if the need arose. His post work communication was excellent too. What I liked about him was that he was pleasant and down to earth and although the work involved was only small, he had no problem accepting it and dealing with it.

In Summer 2017, Mike's Team cut my garage down to a shed and built a green roof on it. The green roof has been very successful. Unfortunately this summer it became evident that the exterior grade plywood used to finish the outsides was not right for the job, it was delaminating in several places. I asked Mike to help with this. He responded immediately, discussed replacement cladding materials, and sent someone to do the job the next week. The replacement was done quickly and efficiently and looks good. The original work was done well, the fault with materials was corrected immediately it was brought to Mike's attention and there was no charge. One could not ask for better service.

The porch roof had several cracked tiles and water was dripping into the interior. Mike gave me 2 quotes for the repair fully explaining the issues and describing the work needed. As the property is rented and I could not get there to see for myself, Mike sent photos of the problems to me. I was extremely happy with the price quoted for the work I opted for. Mike did the work when he said he would and, with the Christmas period, did not rush to invoice me which was nice of him. Mike and his team delivered a first class service in repairing my property's roof and guttering. They went above and beyond what was required, repairing some underlying issues that enabled the agreed repairs to be effectively. They had to battle the elements but still finished to the agreed timescales. Mike was a pleasure to deal with, whether in person or over email. He explained what was required clearly, walking me through this beforehand and showing me the finished job when complete. Mike understood that I was remote from the property so he was also happy to deal with the scaffolders for me, which was a great help.
