Alban Locksmiths Ltd are based in St Albans, Hertfordshire. We have a shop which stocks a wide range of locks and hardware and also has an extensive key cutting service, including various vehicle keys. Our locksmith services cover Herts, beds and bucks and all local surrounding areas. All our staff are DBS checked and our account customers range from County Councils, police, schools and collages to many small and large businesses in the local and surrounding areas. We also attend to personal households daily for call outs for door and lock repairs, open ups, window repairs, vehicle security and any security to properties. I had my locks replaced on my front door, I had a really good conversation with the team in the shop about the pros and cons of different locks - very factual not selling. Then the locksmith who came to install was fast, efficient & neat & made sure I knew all the lock features before he left. Would definitely recommend them.

Following a successful connection of our new front door to a remote entry system by Nick, arrangements made to replace lock mechanism in entry gates to apartments. Measurements taken during first job and items specially ordered. Pete called by appointment to install and the finished job is neat and works perfectly. A very efficient service all round.

I have been using this company on behalf of my church for over twenty years for replacement locks and for the cutting of additional keys. They always give sound advice, and are friendly, fast and efficient when I visit them with my requests. We have keys with a security number, with two named cardholders authorised to have extras cut. On one occasion, I forgot to produce my card on arrival and, on looking at the original from which I wanted the keys cut, the locksmith shook his head and said he couldn't help me with "that kind of key". I then remembered to show my authorisation card, at which he declared that all was well after all and proceeded to cut the keys. Very impressive! I am told by friends that not all locksmiths are so conscientious about checking for authorisation.

The lock, on our aluminium framed Everest back-door, was stuck in the locked position. I requested the service on Tuesday this week, but explained that it was not very urgent. Today, Thursday, the locksmith, Nick, arrived as arranged having phoned to ensure I was at home. I was amazed at his patience and professionalism as the locked door prevented access to remove the broken lock. Eventually, the door was opened and the lock removed. Nick had a new replacement lock available which he fitted efficiently and carefully. Our door is now as new and we are delighted. Nick has more than 25 years working as a locksmith and his skill was obvious. I can recommend this excellent company particularly for their very reasonable costs.

Just wanted to review this company as they were so professional. Told me the various prices that I might be met with depending on the nature of the problem, so that I knew the very worst it could be, all inclusive of VAT. Turned up the same day at exactly the time they said they would and had the broken lock changed within half an hour/ forty five minutes. Cost less than £100 all in and there was no mess. Stunning service.

On returning home from our holiday we found that the mortice lock on our front door had jammed. We contacted Alban Locksmiths who arrived within an hour and got us back into our home quickly. It was not straightforward and the work was completed within half an hour.
