Ashby Carpets & Flooring

We approached Ashby Carpets and flooring many months in advance of substantial work at the house. They quoted for relaying some carpets and new elsewhere. By far the biggest job was over 40 square metres of Karndean flooring. We had to wait for floor screed to dry out and Ashby's were so helpful in waiting and checking the moisture level each time we requested. After many weeks of walking on concrete it was so rewarding to have the Karndean laid. Despite us delaying the project the company pegged the original quotes. The installers were so quick and clean and did a fabulous job. We would never consider going anywhere else for our flooring.

We had our bathrooms fitted with Karndean flooring we were previously told that it could not be fitted by another carpet fitter on top of ceramic tiles and we were told that the tiles would have to be removed but it was no bother for Ashby carpets to fit this for us by screeding the top of the tiles. They have done a fantastic job and would definitely use them again and recommend them to all of our friends.

I recently had carpet fitted throughout our downstairs, on the stairs and upstairs landing. Also vinyl laid in cloakroom and bathroom. Chris and his team went out of their way to make the task easy from start to finish. All done in an agreed time frame and fitted to budget. The whole operation was a pleasure and not the upheaval I had envisaged. Mark who fitted the carpet was personable and friendly and did an excellent job, with no damage to decor. A good family run business with high standards and nothing to much trouble. If only other businesses could follow this benchmark - happy days.

A very efficient and professional job undertaken over 4 days in our 4-bedroom house replacing all bedroom carpets upstairs with new carpets, replacing carpets throughout the downstairs with Karndean, and similarly covering existing tiles in the kitchen and downstairs w.c. with Karndean. The job was staggered to enable each half of the downstairs to be done whilst moving the furniture to the other half. Disruption was kept to a minimum and the two fitters were friendly, helpful and clearly very experienced. They never stopped!

We wanted to find a local company to lay flooring. Ashby were great. They have done all of the floors in our house now. We have had both Kardean and Vinyl. We also went through them to get our underfloor heating fitted. They were extremely professional and flexible. The selection in store was wonderful and the staff were incredibly knowledgeable about the stock and products. We would happily recommend and use again.

I have had my house re-done from top to bottom. The prices were competitive and service excellent. Ashby Carpets fitted carpets in my house originally 13 years ago and the price has hardly changed. I even had them move my furniture and dispose of the old carpet. I would recommend you give them a go as the quality of their work is excellent.

We've used Ashby carpets for all the flooring and carpeting in our home for the last 20 years or so. They're really good at what they do, and all services are provided in a relaxed and friendly manner. The shop has a really good choice and we've always been able to take home samples to help us decide. Any snags affecting the fitting are always thought through and then solved.

I've just had Ashby Carpets put some stair carpets into my house. The whole experience, from initial contact, to getting the work completed, has been very good. Nice and friendly service, everyone turning up on time, and I'm very pleased with the work.

Chris and his team have now laid all the floors in our house, carpets, laminate and Karndean, except for bathrooms. We have been using them for around thirty years and wouldn't keep going back unless they were good. Thoroughly recommended.

I needed to replace the vinyl in my kitchen, but really didn't have the budget to splash out on the premium manufacturers' ranges. Michael was super helpful in showing me plenty of high quality options within the right price range, without any pressure to up-sell me to more expensive lines. There was no heavy sales patter, which I hate. The measuring, estimating and order processes were really fast and efficient with no messing about. There was a little bit of a wait between ordering and fitting, only because they are busy, but once the fitters came they did a lovely job, very quick and tidy, neatly finished at the edges and doorways, etc. Very impressed with both the team in the store and the fitters. Would recommend this company, and will definitely be using them again.

From the original survey and quote, through floor selection to installation it was a pleasure to work with the Ashby team. Originally we wanted to replace our old and tired 24 year old IKEA laminate floor in our hall and back room with engineered wood. After many borrowed floor samples and designs we settled on an oak laminate throughout. We could not believe how quick Mark and Kieran installed it - under 6 hours! Any problems e.g. low doors, kitchen cabinet plinths were quietly solved with no fuss. They were tidy and cleared all the rubbish away at the end. We are extremely happy with the result and would recommend Ashby's without hesitation.

We had no hesitation in using Ashby Carpets and Flooring again for our latest flooring requirements. We now have a stunning French Oak Karndean Van Gogh wooden floor for our hallway, cloakroom and kitchen. The fitters were punctual, polite and very tidy and clearly take pride in their work Potential obstacles concerning variations in skirting height and uneven existing base concrete floor were resolved with a minimum of fuss. The whole project was completed on time at a very competitive price.We look forward to appointing Ashby again when the time comes to upgrade flooring upstairs in our home. We have used Ashby Carpets for all our flooring for over 20 years - linoleum, wood laminate and carpets. In the past few months we have had 2 carpets fitted. The first was an inexpensive carpet in our spare bedroom, this was quite straightforward but very quickly and expertly installed. The second was a wonderful Axminster wool carpet in our sitting room, which was rather more complicated. We had a minor issue but Chris Ashby personally sorted it out straight away. I note that another reviewer suggested that door fittings should be discussed at the survey and I think that would have helped in our case, as the problem was fitting a much thicker carpet than we had before. However the end result is really good. The service at the shop is very good, they spend a lot of time explaining the different floorings and options and will lend you samples to try out at home. We found that really helpful in making our choice of colour and pattern, not sure we would have made such a good choice from memory. This is a really reliable family firm and they do a professional job. We definitely recommend them and will certainly use them ourselves next time we need to renew some flooring.

I found Michael the showroom manager extremely helpful and knowledgeable. A quote was produced very promptly and was highly competitive. I borrowed some good sized samples to pick the final Karndean colour. The fitting process was very smooth, on time and the finish was beautiful. The fitting guys were able to match up my new flooring to the one in the kitchen with no door bar and the join is staggeringly good. They were incredibly tidy and polite. I would definitely use Ashby Carpets & Flooring again and my neighbours are already interested to see the finished flooring.

I was recommended Ashby Carpets by a local friend and I have to say I am very pleased. Maz helped me choose the carpets, answering all my questions knowledgeably. I had lots of questions and requirements and he was very patient. It was the first time I'd ever bought carpet and I felt well guided throughout the process. Carpet was then ordered, deposit paid, then an excellent fitter Jamie installed it all. He did the stairs, hall and bedroom all as planned. He had to take 6 doors off to cut down as the new carpet was a lot thicker. He did a brilliant job. I have no complaints at all, my only suggestion for improvement would be if when they came to measure up they had thought to check the doors then, and told me it was likely they would need cutting down.. because this costs a little extra (or you could do it yourself).
