Bristol boiler company came to service my boiler last week. It was initially hard getting them booked in for an inspection as their response to emails was slow. On inspection of the boiler they saw rust on the flu pipe so poked a hole through and decommissioned it which is understandable as the boiler is deemed to be unsafe. However there were three men who attended all failed to wear face masks, two of the men were very rude and confrontational refusing to offer any solution or practical advise on how to get the heating up and running again. The third man was clearly an apprentice who said nothing. It’s understandable that if a piece of equipment is unsafe it needs to be turned off and decommissioned, however the attitude displayed, breaking of COVID procedure and lack of solutions left me with no heating and a awful experience. If I was elderly or vulnerable a lack of heating and exposure to three people without masks in a global pandemic could have more dire consequences. Woul definitely not recommend this company.

I can't recommend this company. Although the work they did (fitting a new flow turbine and sensor) was fast, clean and efficient, they told me that our boiler was fine, apart from a part of the burner which might ultimately need replacing, as it made a shuddering noise. They left us with no heating, telling us that we needed a power flush to remove a blockage in the system. This was to have cost about £4-500, and could only be done by a 3rd party. A second opinion, a different, and correct diagnosis, from a different company: the pump was faulty, and therefore inefficient. The diverter was slightly sticking. The second engineer also found that the expansion vessel had lost all pressure, and was full of water and the shuddering noise disappeared once the overheating fan was changed. I had discovered for myself the reason for poor water pressure after the BBC had visited: they had left the cold water feed tap all but closed. Whereas I wish to be fair, and acknowledge the correct fitting of some parts by the BBC, I feel annoyed and troubled that they misdirected us, almost costing us several hundred pounds, and were careless with their diagnosis, and failure to check the expansion vessel and connections before leaving.

They went the extra mile as we had an awkwardly located flue that meant we needed access to the garden of two of our neighbours. Bristol Boiler Company went round to the people's houses and knocked on their doors a number of times to organise everything. They were professional, efficient and friendly in every aspect of our experience with them for a very fair price. We can't recommend them highly enough!

The circuit board on our 13 year old boiler burnt out, so we decided on replacement rather than repair. Following a site visit, we received a detailed quote which was competitive and we selected BBCL on that basis and the fact that they were local. The fitter was friendly, professional and tidy, and the whole job was completed on schedule. Excellent firm.
