We are undertaking a major refurbishment of our home and I wished to appoint one trustworthy company to fulfil all our plumbing and heating requirements. Several people recommended Bumfords to me and I have not been disappointed. Phase one of the works was completed last week and involved installation of a new en-suite shower room, new gas boiler and various other plumbing and heating works. Specialist asbestos removal was also required and facilitated by Bumfords. The shower room was a particularly challenging project, due to pre-existing house design and build features, which Bumfords overcame and resolved, with stunning results. There were a couple of hiccups along the way, mainly due to supply chain issues. Bumford speedily resolved the problems and brought the project back on track. Our project manager, has been exemplary, running the project to military precision and keeping us fully informed along the way. Those working in our home have been equally professional and helpful, delivering quality workmanship, advice and guidance, as well as rapidly accommodating our changing and evolving requirements. Phase two of our works programme is due to commence shortly. This involves gas fire installation and a new bathroom. The bathroom will also be challenging, due to similar design issues already encountered with the shower room, where Bumfords took on the challenges with aplomb. We look forward to welcoming Bumfords back into our home to undertake Phase two.

We hired Bumfords to service our boiler and cylinder. Lee was very polite, friendly and knowledgeable and carried out the job well, letting us know what work had been conducted. A very professional job all round and would recommend to anyone else looking for boiler servicing in South Yorkshire.

What I thought would be a mammoth task was completed within 3 days. The team from Bumford Heating Limited were outstanding, they installed a completely new solid fuel central heating system and got it up and running in the time stated above.

I've used Bumford's for a number of years now and have always been very satisfied with their work. They deal with urgent issues as quickly as they can and the engineers are always knowledgeable and helpful. My boiler broke down on Saturday 2 October and I emailed them about this at 6pm that day because, from past experience, I knew the issue would be dealt with as soon as possible on Monday. Bumford's dropped off electric fan heaters to me on Monday in case there was a delay getting an engineer out to me, but in the event the boiler (which needed a new pump) was up and working again by 3pm on Tuesday 5 October. A great service!

An excellent company!! I cannot recommend highly enough. Bumfords have provided exemplary service for my 95 year old mother’s central heating system over many years. Everyone we have ever dealt with has been friendly, polite and professional. Recently though they have impressed as a business that really cares about its customers. The ancient back boiler of Mum’s system started cutting out making it impossible to use the central heating system. We received a very prompt Covid compliant visit from Alex who advised us on the installation of a new boiler and provided a very reasonable quote. However, we did not think my mother would cope with the upheaval it would require. Bumfords understood our position and instead of shrugging their shoulders, like many companies would have done, they showed great empathy. They sent another engineer for one last go at trying to solve the problem. Bob was amazing, methodical, analytical, and patient and after testing everything and eventually spending over half an hour lying on the floor staring at the boiler flame he cracked it. A couple of days later he returned and fitted a new part and all is well! This company is definitely one in which you can have great confidence and one you can trust completely.

Our relative in her 80's coping with dementia required a replacement boiler. She lives 170 miles away and we had to organise it over the phone. Everyone we spoke to at Bumfords proved to be knowledgeable, considerate and polite. The sale representative deserves special thanks for his understanding of the situation and for ensuring a smooth installation that ran to schedule. We felt in good hands and offer them our sincerest gratitude. I would highly recommend Bumfords.

Since moving to Yorkshire I've found it difficult to find a proper handyman. Bumfords have proved to be the real thing. In one visit Craig mended a leaking tap, put a new rubber seal on a leaking gutter joint, installed a new locking handle on the bathroom door, and then when the toilet started to overflow unexpectedly while he was here, he also sorted out the ball-valve. He also took the trouble to point out problems he'd noticed with the roof while he was up the ladder, and to recommend a roofer. I was only charged £80 for the whole lot! I am delighted with the service.

I contacted Bumfords to sort a problem with my underfloor heating. I was given an appointment day within a week and I got a reminder a day before the appointment. The Plumber, Phil, was prompt, polite, very professional and knowledgeable. He was able to sort out a persistent problem with the system that I had previously been told could not be corrected without an expensive upgrade. He cleaned up after himself and gave recommendations about how I can optimize the currently installed system. Overall extremely satisfied with the service and will use them again

Bumfords replaced our boiler in December 2020, just after the second lockdown. The staff who visited observed every safety precaution. It was an unplanned, emergency situation, in the middle of very cold weather and yet they responded to my initial request for a quote immediately. It is a system with a large hot water tank, so more complex than the average combi boiler, but during the whole process we had complete faith that they knew exactly what they were doing. The job was completed on time and to budget. The engineer was a pleasure to have in the house - tidy, helpful, friendly but hard working. The outcome was possibly one of the best jobs we have ever had done, and we have been restoring houses for over 40 years, so we have plenty of experience! The engineer spent a very long time balancing the system and the result is the house has never been warmer or easier to control using the Hive control system. It is excellent, even in a big old house. We will be using Bumfords for all our plumbing jobs in the future. They also fitted some kitchen taps for us at the same time as the boiler. Last week we had a leak from one of the pipes under the sink and they were there that afternoon to fix it. Absolutely excellent service.

From our first call to the office at Bumford's to the end of our new boiler installation the service we received was excellent. Alex came out the same day to look at the old boiler and we agreed that a new boiler was the way to go. Within the day Alex had sent me an email with the quote for the work required doing and quickly came back with another quote as we decided to have anew radiator fitted also. Phil the engineer came promptly on the agreed date and followed all covid proceedures and protocols. Phil was very professional covering as much as possible with dust sheets and he kept me informed at all stages of the installation .The boiler was fully tested and Phil gave us a very thorough hand over of the boiler showing us all functions. Nothing is too much trouble for this company, it's a company you can trust and rely on .

A very professional company. The new boiler was an upgrade from the existing and had to be located in a different area. From the initial survey by Robin who went into detail of the installation, type and size of boiler required and gave an explanation of where all new piping would be located. Robin & Phil (Installation engineer) also came to our home prior to the installation to go through all details and answer any questions. Phil Romans the engineer who carried out the work was exceptional.

Bumfords came the same day that I rang them to look at my leak and resolved the situation immediately. Although they were really busy a new boiler was fitted 4 days later. No mess whatsoever. Covers on floors. Covers on their shoes. Matt just got on with his job and it was a pleasure for him to be in our home. All finished in 1 day. These are very organised people. They will be doing my next project.

A very good and comprehensive job from Bumfords which has made a significant improvement to the way we are able to heat our home. From initial discussion through to execution, the service was professional and inspired confidence that we were using a good company that can be trusted.

From start to finish the whole team have been so professional, accommodating and supportive. The initial survey with Robin put my mind at ease at what we wanted to achieve, no pressure sales, just good honest advice, constant communication helped me design the solution I wanted. The team supplied and fitted a brand new Worcester Bosch High flow boiler plus Nest Thermostat, including removing the hot water tank and header tanks of the old system to make way for the new bathroom. They installed new designer radiators throughout the house. The removal and replacement was completed in a day to a very high standard and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The fitting of the radiators required more work than expected to include supports in the walls due to the weight of them but this didn’t phase any of the team, they simply got on and sorted the job, they were very patient and professional and the standard of work can be seen through the whole project. Just fitted a new wet underfloor heating system as part of our new kitchen refurb. This required a lot of coordination between plumbers, kitchen fitters and flooring installers which went remarkably well. Part way through the kitchen project we noticed a leak on the old boiler and despite the various constraints of COVID they managed to source and fit a new boiler quickly and efficiently. Alex is always so helpful and ensures everything is done in a timely and professional way.

Its great when you can use a local company. Its even better when they turn out to be as good as Bumford Heating. All the staff I spoke to or met, are without exception, friendly, professional and highly competent. The quality of the workmanship was spot on - and attention to detail exceeding my expectations. The prices are realistic and fair. During the strange Covid aware circumstance we're in - they were very mindful of wearing ppe and social distancing. Would I recommend them? I already have to two friends.

Bumfords were recommended by a friend. Alex couldn't have been more helpful, it was big job with an urgent timeline, including a new heating system, boiler, radiators, bathroom and cloakroom. The end result and attention to detail and quality of work is outstanding. This is a professional, quality business, with Alex going out of his way to answer questions and to make sensible suggestions. We were given a schedule and budget, which was kept to by the Bumfords team, so no hidden surprises. It was the little things that really stood out for us, we urgently needed an outside tap, Alex arranged for someone to come out that day to put one in, to loaning an industrial hoover to clear up mess, not actually left by Bumfords. They also helped us find other local trade to help with plastering and painting. This is a quality team, you will struggle to find a better, more reliable service in the Barnlsey area. We would use them again and strongly recommend.

I contacted Bumfords, having previously used them, to check out my elderly mothers boiler that kept cutting out. They sent an engineer out the same day. He checked the system, which was now working, and found a kink in the outlet from the condensate pump and showed me the manual override that cleared the full tank and cured, so he thought, the stoppage. The next day it was off again. I went and checked the condensate pump and found the manual override was now not working at all. I got the system working again. This went on for the next day or two and so I rang back to Bumfords and they sent out a different engineer. He didn't really inspect anything, just said that the condensate pump was the issue and did he want me to order a replacement? I declined as I recognised that the pump was not the only issue as it was now 'out of the system', having been replaced with a bowl to collect the water, but I said I would give it over the weekend. Over the weekend it went off every night. I called Bumfords on the Monday (6/1/20)and spoke to a member of staff who said that the issue was only the pump and he would get back to me with a price. I am still waiting for him to get back. I checked the internet for a different gas service engineer who came the same day and straight away after listening to my description of what had happened he identified the spark unit as being faulty. Replaced it, a really simple job. Has worked perfectly since. I won't be using this trader again.

From first contact Bumfords produced a detailed work plan and costing to replace some radiators, new pump etc. Craig completed the job with respect for my home and was courteous at all times. All the work was finished to a high standard. It was a pleasure doing business with a friendly bunch of people from office staff through to fitters. Thank you.

Booked Bumfords after meeting Robin and getting a quote, after another supplier failed to give me any confidence. The work was done on the days agreed, to the agreed price and by a very efficient, friendly and obliging fitter. The location of the boiler could not be described as 'easy access' and some work around's were needed to get the new installation done properly, but these were all sorted without any hassles or grumbles and within the costs quoted. I did keep the teapot brewed, but that's an easy part of the deal! Well done and thanks to Robin and Matt and the Bumfords' team.

Alex Gregory of Bumfords came out to advise us on improving our complicated heating and hot water system in a big old house. He was very professional, quick to size up the very complex systems, and patient and clear in giving us suggestions about the possible ways forward. He was very honest and told us we didn't need Bumfords at the moment but we needed to consider our options. We were impressed and very grateful for his time.

We had a handrail replaced on our staircase after having the artex wall covering tested for the possible presence of asbestos. At all times they were professional and explained to us at every stage what was happening. The work was done to a good standard and the area was left clean and tidy afterwards. We wound certainly use them again in the future.
