This is the 2nd year Ian has serviced our gas boiler. Very thorough and meticulous in checking the system. Ian is punctual and a lovely chap. Highly recommended.

Our gas boiler was not working this morning, 25th November. I contacted CHAPS before 8.00am and received excellent advice by text and phone. The advice sorted the problem; I was told what to look out for over the next few days, and to contact CHAPS again if necessary. We use CHAPS for our annual boiler-service; so does my church, where the people are very happy with the visits and advice.

First used CHAPS for a new boiler install over 10 years ago and they've been my go to company in Edinburgh for any heating or plumbing issues ever since. This time it was just for the boiler's annual service. As always turned up on time, friendly and efficient. Definitely recommend CHAPS.

CHAPS went out of their way to accommodate our need for a plumber when we could get no hot water and came after hours on a busy day. They were very efficient and friendly and explained exactly what the problem was. I will certainly use CHAPS again.

Ian carried out my annual boiler and fire service recently. I have used CHAPS now for many years whether for annual servicing or other gas/plumbing issues. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Ian is reliable, cheerful and always quick to respond to messages.

I came back from a visit to family to find my boiler wasn't working. It was a Sunday but I emailed anyway. That evening I received a reply to say Ian would be out the next day. He showed me how to top up my boiler if the pressure went down again and explained how and why pressure drops in a boiler. Excellent, prompt and friendly service again. I wouldn't use anyone else.

Friendly, dependable - they came when they promised to - and knowledgeable. Very good at what they do (they installed the replacement boiler and power-flushed the radiators last year), and they charge a fair price. .

Having seen that work that Ian and the team do, I decided to ask them to service my boiler. Booking easily arranged, turned up on time as agreed, work completed and area left clean and tidy

I rent out a flat which had the gas supply shut off after the rental agent smelt gas during an inspection visit. The agent subsequently sent their preferred gas engineer to investigate at which point they advised a completely new gas supply pipe from the meter to the boiler would be required. I contacted CHAPS for a second opinion. They came the next day and were able to identify and fix a small leak at the boiler connection. They also returned next working day to replace a non-compliant gas hob connection at which point our tenants were able to access the property. Using CHAPS (rather than the letting agent provider) probably saved me a couple of thousand pounds in repair costs and avoided an insurance claim for finding tenants alternative accommodation. I’ve used CHAPS before and found them to be straightforward, knowledgeable and responsive - a rare combination.

Ian has done several jobs for us over the past few years which we have always been happy with . Most recently our boiler broke down the day before family were coming to stay for a few days. Ian came promptly and went out of his way to sort in before the weekend. Gill Henderson

I have been a customer of Chaps since 2018 when they did a boiler swap for us. They have attended annually for the service to keep the boilers running smoothly. Their recommendation of an Intergas boiler has been a good one with no breakdowns and a very quiet and responsive boiler. We had the more major service involving opening the combustion chamber done yesterday, all done very smoothly and cleanly. All our contact with Ian at Chaps has been quickly answered and a convenient appointment offered and kept with good time keeping and a relentless cheerfulness.
