Great work fixing problem and helping to get refund for faulty appliance

The first time we tried to use a brand new microwave oven, at 6pm, it caused the electrics to go out, leaving us in darkness and with no heating. I was unable to reset the electrics, and called a 24hr electricians to help. This first company rather let us down, twice revising the time they could attend, the last revision being two days later. We then called Datel, and their engineer arrived a hour later. He soon reset the electrics, and then checked the microwave, finding it to be faulty. He then contacted the supplier on our behalf to help us to get a refund of his fees. It took a long time to get to talk to the company, only to be passed on to another person, but he was very patient and helpful, and we were promised our refund. We will certainly use Datel if we should need help in the future.

Indoor/Outdoor Electrical Works to Cottage
From first contact through to completion of the job nothing was too much of a problem for the Datel Team. All of the team we came into contact with had a totally positive outlook on the job and were only too willing to discuss, adapt, modify, offer ideas and solutions to suit the final outcome. The turnaround for quotes was the best we've experienced from contractors made easier with an online approval system - very slick and very easy to use. The team were professional throughout, from the Sales team, the Office team to the Site team both in their work ethic and their appearance. They kept to budget, advised where "extras" would be incurred and maintained the schedule which was also weather dependant for the outdoor works. We would have no hesitation in recommending Datel Electrical Ltd. An excellent job, well done !

Quick and efficient

I had a faulty floodlight and a faulty bulkhead light. I sent photos of the problem lights and Datel suggested replacements and sent photos of the suggested replacements before quoting. After agreeing a price they sent an electrician within a few days and the work was done very quickly. This is the second time I have used Datel and I would use them again.

Datel carried out work to upgrade electrical storage heaters. From the first contact with them they were responsive, friendly, efficient and professional. After reviewing the heaters they were very clear about what needed to be done and why and provided a clear and comprehensive quote. They were able to carry out the work quickly - before it got too cold! The engineers who came to do the work were again friendly, efficient and professional and, importantly, worked in a covid-secure manner. Everything was left clean and tidy and they notified us quickly of a bit of follow-up work to be done and the date they could do it. I would certainly use Datel again and highly recommend them.

Display cabinet illumination

We have a lovely display cabinet/dresser built into an alcove in our kitchen but it had no lighting. I didn't want to see trunking/wiring in it but I wanted to see my special china. Jon from Datel came up with a solution involving spotlights inserted into the top of the cabinet and a remote control for putting on the lights. Its a kinetic remote control, so no batteries! It is so cool, its fabulous!

I contacted Datel with a problem and they were able to send out an electrician the next day. He arrived and quickly sorted out my problem within the agreed quote and gave me advice on another matter while he was here. I would definitely use Datel again.

Electrical improvements

We used Datel 3 years ago when we moved into a sadly neglected house in Torquay. Having had the house made safe we are now at the stage of improvements (rather than basic maintenance). We sent Datel a list of some 12 items including replacing the previous owners’ hideous light fittings in the lounge and study, new external lights, fitting surge protection, installing an extractor fan etc. There was also the 3 year EICR check to be done. Dave came to assess the work then sent us a quote. Datel’s electricians (Jon, their Qualified supervisor and Ryan, their apprentice) arrived on the day specified. They ran through the schedule of works and walked round the house with us, so that we all understood what was going to happen and it which order. They got on with the work, in a logical and sensible manner. We were particularly impressed with the way Jon mentored Ryan – he didn’t say ‘do it this way’, but instead he listened to Ryan’s views and discussed possibilities. The work was completed in a tidy and orderly fashioned. Both Jon and Ryan were cheerful and polite. We would always use Datel for our electrical work.

Clean and tidy work

i needed a cable for a new swim spa, it had to go from consumer panel to outside isolation switch then hot tub. I had someone take a look, and they thought I would have to go via the bedroom then outside, my wife was not happy but Dave came around from Datel electrical, suggested going through the utility room, I asked for a quote, I accepted it and his boys were around the next week. They made a small hole in the utility room wall to get to cons panel. I expected a large hole, but it was small. After made good you would not know they had been there, ran the cable down in the cavity then outside through the wall, they put a junction box, from there ran the cable around to the back of house where they connected to a rotary isolator switch from there a cable to where the spa was going to be. You could not see the cable until it rose to the rotary switch. they were excellent, friendly, very professional, very clean and tidy. Would highly recommend them
