Established in 1978, we are one of the South’s leading experts in Upholstery and Rise and Recline Mobility Chairs.
Partner in Dee Cee Upholstery, Derek Caplen, became the youngest master Upholsterer in the UK at the tender age of 21, and by the age of 43 he had become the youngest Fellow of the Association of Master Upholsterers for his outstanding contribution in training young people, and dedication to the A.M.U. and Soft Furnishers.

The caned back of this Victorian chair had been damaged. It has been completely recaned in the original style. The sprung seat has been reupholstered in a fabric of my choosing. The finished chair is neat, well finished and comfortable to sit in. This is the third item (2 of my own chairs and a large sofa that belongs to a friend) that I have had reupholstered here over several years. The work has always been done to a high standard and all the chairs are still in constant use . The work was completed in the time frame given and the cost was as the original quote. The team were friendly and happy to advise re the choose of fabric.

Our large wooden chair needed new foam inserts for seat, back and armrests. Dee Cee Upholstery took the job on and were helpful and pleasant. We were told it would take 2 weeks, which it did. The foam in the seat turned out to be too high for the armrests. This was dealt with straightforwardly and promptly. We are pleased with the result.

Derek re-upholstered a fireside chair for us two years ago in a check pattern fabric. We had another fireside chair that we wanted to match so Derek took photos to ensure the pattern looked the same. I wanted a rocking chair reupholstered, plus replacement of the seat cushion, and repair of the woodwork. Following phone contact, Derek made a home visit to assess and give quote. He brought his portfolio of qualifications and accolades as a Master Upholsterer. The job was completed before the new carpet was laid, but Dee Cee were happy to keep the chair until I was ready. The newly reupholstered chair was delivered this morning. It is beautiful. It is more than I had hoped for. Thank you for excellent service.

My much-used small fireside chair had a split in the fabric and had become saggy. Derek advised on how much new fabric I would require and what Martindale rating would be suitable. He has reupholstered and recovered it so it is now much more supportive. There was sufficient fabric left over to recover three loose drop-in chair seats, which are all matched with the pattern of the fabric. All the work was carried out to budget and I was kept fully informed. I am very pleased with the results.

I have three very old barley-sugar leg dining chairs, all of which had their original leather seats, but the leather was crazed and torn, and then one of the seats got broken. I took it over to Derek to ask if he could do anything. He has repaired the broken seat and re-covered all three seats with a lovely coloured leather he had in stock, and in addition is very kindly reglueing the back of one of the chairs for no additional cost. The work did not take long and the chairs look beautiful and are very comfortable. I highly recommend this firm.

I wanted my office chair repaired because the fabric and foam were completely coming apart, although mechanically, the chair was still working fine. When I obtained the quote from Derek, he said that I would find the chair better after the repair than when I first bought it; he was not wrong. The chair looks excellent, and Dee Cee upholstery has done a solid job. I also think that rather than throwing things out and buying new, we ought to mend and revamp as much as possible, to save the earth's resources.

From start to finish Dee Cee Upholstery were fantastic to deal with. My rocking chair had seen better days so I rang about repairing it. I was asked to send in a photo of my chair and quickly after Derek rang me, telling me what he could do and how much it would cost. He then emailed me all the details and arranged for my chair to be picked up the next day. I went to the shop to pick my fabric with the help of a lovely member of staff, and within a week, my chair was delivered back to me. I could not have been happier with the service, my lovely new chair, and the cost of the work. My 50-year-old rocking chair has a new lease of life and is so comfortable. It had a spring repaired, new padding, new cushion, and all covered in lovely fabric. Thank you all for a fabulous job. I wish every company were like Dee Cee Upholstery.

We were unsure about whether to reupholster our sofas or buy new ones. We have definitely made the right decision. The frames of the sofas were sound, the work that Dee Cee have done to reupholster is first class so effectively we have new sofas again. Dee Cee have been very helpful all the way through the process. They offered us 'courtesy' replacement chairs, but for us, it was just as easy for them to do one sofa at a time, collecting the second sofa when they returned the first. An excellent service. One final thought - we could have bought new sofas but, for the money, they wouldn't have been so good ... and it is too easy these days to just throw good stuff away.

Excellent service. We contacted Dee Cee by phone and then we sent photos of the suite by email asking for a guide price which we received within a couple of days. They did a home visit and sent us a firm quote. They collect the suite at the agreed time. They stored the completed suite until our decorating was complete. We are very pleased with the renewed suite and the advice and support we received from the staff. Thank you.

I took 2 bar stools and a dressing table stool to Derek to be upholstered. Derek made me aware that the foam in the bar stools was no longer supportive and needed replacing. He provided me with a quote to reupholster the dressing table stool in a fabric of my choice and to replace the foam in the bar stools and reupholster in fabric I had already purchased. All 3 stools were finished to a high quality standard and Derek also fixed the loose foot rests on the bar stools. Derek's attention to detail has impressed me and I will be returning when I need any further chairs reupholstered.

I had 2 very tired sofa seat cushions restuffed. The owners were very helpful and gave me a cost quote and delivery date. They explained that the cushions were much larger than usual so the cost would be quite high. The work was delivered before the quoted date and the quality of the work was excellent. I took in the ‘back’ cushions of a large sofa which had collapsed after a few years of boisterous kids using them in pillow fights… Dee Cee did an incredible job re-stuffing them, making them firmer and more comfortable than ever! Derek was friendly & highly professional.He supplied an estimate which he kept to and did the work on time .He supplied polyester reinforcement to 5 cushions from our 2 Multi York sofas .He also renewed the foam , recovered & fitted a new stanchion to our large stool and made 4 arm covers for the sofas. He went out of his way to find the best colour matches for the fabrics and delivered the finished work to our home. All the work was done to the highest standard . He is a true master craftsman and his work is worth every penny .Would definitely recommend him .

Initially I wanted to re-cover an otherwise perfectly good bucket chair. In the end, I had the chair re-upholstered and re-covered as the difference in price wasn't that extortionate. Dee Cee picked up my enquiry promptly and were able to provide the various options open to me. They provided quotes for both a straight re-cover and a full re-upholster of the chair. I chose material from their stock range so I don't know how much more expensive it would have been had I asked about material not in their stock. The chair was collected and delivered at no additional cost. Dee Cee were professional throughout, kept me updated and kept to their original quote. I am very pleased with the finished product and from an environmental perspective, worth every penny.
