Derwent Sash Windows Ltd t/a Derwent Windows and Doors

We were looking for traditional sash windows to fit into a renovation of a Georgian property. Derwent really impressed when we saw the product in the showroom. Cost was not excessive for the type of product. Fitting went extremely well with the professional installers doing a clean, quick and beautiful job. I will use them again for the next part of the renovation.

Thanks for all your help and advice over the past months, the whole service Derwent provided from the day we came over to the showroom to view in April, Andrew expertly surveying the work, to admin answering our many questions, until the fitters completed the work has been absolutely first class. It has been great to work with a company that take so much effort and pride in delivering such good customer service not only in ensuring the quality of the finished product, but also in the care, detail, politeness, personal service and interest shown by all the staff involved throughout the project. A particular thanks to Dan, Mark, Ben and Calum who worked tirelessly in difficult conditions to fit the windows. The detail, care and effort they put in to ensure the finished article was perfect, was superb. They really were all excellent throughout and nothing was too much trouble. Our old windows had been in for probably 150 years, so you can imagine the amount old dust and dirt created from behind the frames once they were removed. The fitters worked diligently to clean up after themselves and return the rooms to pristine condition each night, leaving us with very little work to do, for which we were understandably very grateful. The windows both upstairs and downstairs look great, many thanks. We will definitely be telling all our friends about Derwent Windows and look forward to working with you again in the near future

From measuring to fitting, nothing was left to chance. Windows arrived on time and were speedily and professionally fitted. Everything was “made good” afterwards with no fuss. In fact, I was so impressed both with the quality of product and fitting, I ordered another set to match. As I say, a first class company with first class staff.

Many thanks, our new sash window with the 120 year old original stained glass encapsulated within it looks great. And much more robust than the original had become!

Derwent supplied and fitted a new front door and surround for our 1920’s house. Very pleased with the appearance and quality of the product, the quality of the work done and the work ethic/conduct of the team who did the work.

All went exactly as Derwent said it would. A large team took 3 days from start to finish (supported by copious quantities of tea and biscuits from the customer). The workmanship of both the windows and fitting has been excellent. Particular mention must be made of the young joiner who did some great work rebuilding sills and internal surroundings. The team left the house totally clear of all dust, rubble and other mess the re-fitting process creates. They were friendly, organised and professional and left very little retouching of the paintwork to be done both inside and out. We now have windows that are secure, easy to open and keep clean and look very much in keeping with the architecture of a house now over 100 years old. We still have a few more windows to replace and will certainly be going back to Derwent to get them done.

We had Evolution flush casement windows fitted as well as a new Timer Doors front door with side panels. The windows and door include encapsulation of the original leaded light stain glass windows. Dealing with the office at Derwent has been a pleasant experience from our first visit to the showroom through to completion of fitting. Likewise, all the fitters who have been out to the house have also been very extremely friendly, professional, and helpful. We are very pleased with the quality and appearance of the products and have received many complements from neighbours, visitors, and passers-by! We would have no hesitation in ordering from Derwent again in the future.

We have had all of our external windows and doors replaced by Derwent in 2 phases over the last couple of years and honestly couldn't recommend them highly enough. Great people to deal with, attention to detail and quality of materials is excellent, no sense that the job needs to be rushed so the fitters aren't unduly stressed so they can do their job properly and to a standard that they are content with. No hidden extras; in our experience the price given is honoured even if unforeseen difficulties are encountered during the work, and if it takes a little longer than anticipated to get the job right then that is what happens. We spoke to several mainstream companies and also local suppliers before settling on Derwent - the level of info they provide in their quotation is above and beyond that provided by anyone else. Others varied from 'the back of a fag packet' to tons of paperwork which actually gave very little detail of what was actually being provided, and of course followed by the 'hard sell'. We got none of that from Derwent. By the time the work was finished saying thanks and goodbye to Ian, our prime fitter throughout, was like bidding farewell to a good friend! The problem we have now is that our soffits, fascias & gutters need to be replaced to match but they have set the bar so high its going to be difficult to find a company with equivalent standards. Of course they are not the cheapest but that really depends on where your priorities lie - price or quality?

I cannot recommend Derwent Windows highly enough, the service is excellent from start to finish. I had a beautiful cottage door fitted by Dougie, who was extremely polite & helpful. The door was made exactly how I requested & nothing was too much trouble. I would not hesitate to use them again.

The service from Derwent Windows & Doors was very professional but also friendly from the initial inquiry all the way through to the installation and after sales care. We really love our Aluco Aluminum crittal doors and they look stunning as part of a full renovation of our dining room, living room and conservatory. Highly recommended.
