We have used Ian many times over the past decade for various jobs, so when it came to installing our recent combi boiler upgrade, we contacted him for a consultation/quote. On both days of the job Ian turned up on time, set his work up and promptly started. This man is a real grafter who has a professional attitude, and cares about his standards of work- some of the pipework he did under our kitchen worktop was seriously impressive. He is an amicable man, answered our plumbing questions with clarity, and kept us updated as the job progressed- he even did an extra job for us, (supplied & fitted a new radiator), which wasn't part of the original quote. He also cleaned up at the end of the job, removed the old items, and ensured all was ok. We highly recommend Ian for all aspects of plumbing work.

Ian serviced my boiler. He arrived on time, did a good job, gave me useful advice and was helpful and pleasant throughout. I would definitely use him again and I recommend him unreservedly.

One of my radiators wasn't heating up and after trying to troubleshoot it myself for hours, Ian came out and fixed it within a few minutes.

Ian correctly diagnosed that my toilet cistern was cracked. He ordered a new one for me and thoughtfully suggested a higher-than-normal one, given my osteoarthritis in my knees. It was fitted today and works perfectly. He cleaned up thoroughly and made sure that recyclable packaging went in the correct bin. Outstanding!

Ian was the first tradesperson we had in to do work when we bought a new house. That was a small job to seal off some old gas fires. However, I was so impressed by his work even on that small job that he has done several more jobs for us since, including fitting a new bathroom. Starting the basics, Ian gets things right: he answers the phone, turns up when he says he will, provides proper quotes and invoices and certainly doesn't cut any corners. But it is the consistently exceptional service Ian provides that truly commends him. His attention to detail on all aspects is first-rate, and he genuinely cares about doing the job well and right. He has made a number of suggestions to us of how to improve our plans for the property, and you can know that when he does so it is not because he is trying to cut corners or wants to make a job more expensive; it is because he wants the job done well. We are so pleased to have found Ian on this site. He well and truly sets the standard that all tradespeople should be aiming to meet.

Ian was really helpful. He explained how to slow down the leak until he could visit. He came when he said he would. He fixed the problem. Very friendly and reassuring.

My gas combi-boiler suddenly began leaking water. I was not satisfied with the previous plumber who had serviced the boiler so contacted Ian after spotting him on Which Trusted Trader. He answered my call immediately, and agreed to attend two days later. He would have come sooner but I could not arrange to be in. He quickly identified the problem, explained it to me, and it was fixed within about half-an-hour. I thought the price charged was very fair, and I found Ian to be friendly and he explained everything in understandable language. I would definitely recommend him and would use him again myself.

Ian was really helpful, trying to mend the leak, giving advice about what to do while I was away and then replacing the taps . He arrived when he said and cleaned up. The taps are fine.

Ian has helped me in total 3 times. The first 2 times were for leaks (internal), which caused a lot of damage. I had not used Ian before but he gave me excellent advice on the phone and was highly responsive in remediating the leak which he attended to in the evening of the same day. The 3rd occassion was for remediation (which became a re installation) of a Worcester gas boiler. Once again we were in a pickle ... this was a few weeks before Christmas without hot water and heating and the UK weather was extremely cold. Once again Ian was highly responsive and the boiler was installed with 2 days effort. In all cases I can say Ian has gone the exta mile and it is a pleasure to write this review and be able to give him the highest recommendation.

Ian came by to look at the job and provided a reasonably priced quote. He was friendly and explained everything thoroughly. We were having problems with some radiator leaks and radiator thermostats not working which in a big, older building is a more complex job. When Ian came to do the job he was professional, friendly, did a good job of fixing the problem. He also gave other advice related to a connected boiler issue which was very helpful in helping us to resolve that problem too. He also called the next day to check if everything was ok.

Ian serviced our boiler, updated a key component, installed a Hive thermostat control, replaced kitchen tap and checked a toilet cistern all in one morning! The work was all planned to make effective use of time and Ian is a pleasure to have in the house, being polite and communicating effectively on the programme of work.

I had arranged with Ian 3 jobs that needed doing. Servicing the boiler, revealing the shower tray and fitting a stop tap to isolate and external tap to prevent it freezing up during cold spells. He’s just such a brilliant plumber. Arrived on time, does exactly what is needed and explains fully just what he is going to do to make sure everyone is sing from the same hymn sheet. The quality of his workmanship is excellent. When fitting the stop tap and drainage point, he ensured it was accessible below a small section of floor board which could just lift up so I would not have to go under the floor to isolate the tap. Great attention to detail. Ian has done lots of jobs in our house, he really is a problem solver. Fully recommend Devine plumbers with no hesitation. He’s a great guy and an excellent plumber. PS All done at a very far price within budget.

Ian attended the property, promptly at the agreed time to resolve an issue with two leaking radiators. He drained the system, fitted upgraded valves and refilled the heating system. His work was very thorough and he tidied up after completing the work. He also explained the work. I would highly recommend Ian Devine to anyone who requires the services of a plumber.

Ian sorted out our broken radiator valves, replacing and ensuring they could work with our new TADO smart system to regulate each radiator remotely. He went the extra mile and made sure it was all set up for us. Highly recommended.

Ian at least 7 years ago helped repair my shower. Since then he has put in a central heating system as I had electric storage heaters. Serviced the boiler each year, and last week after ordering a part for my gas fire got the part fitted and working. The shower touch wood is working fine. Happy with all his work and gets back to me when I ring him.

For the last two years we have used this company for all our plumbing needs, including fitting a new boiler system and a complete bathroom renovation amongst other small jobs. They provide an unbeatable friendly service, and are always happy to help. Ian helped us completely transform our small bathroom based on a small rough sketch I had made. He worked with us to maximise the space and the results are beautiful, still looking brand new eighteen months on. Thankfully Ian himself organised an electrician and a masterful tiler to help him complete the job, which saved us the hassle of organising three different traders. Since moving to Manchester we've used Ian a few times and will always contact him when we need a plumber. He's sorted an absolute mess of pipes accumulated over 70 years, sorted radiators, fixed stoptaps, fitted toilets...all the good stuff. Great guy. Likes his coffee white with no sugar.

Ian first came to our property in September last year. Since that point he has removed our old heating system, removed old and disused piping, installed a new boiler and new heating system as well as installing new radiators in most rooms of the house. He has also plumbed in a new water connection for our washing machine as well as removing old waste pipe and installing a new plastic one. His work has been extensive and done to a high standard, if any problems arose with our house he quickly and calmly resolved them. He has always been honest with me and my partner and done whatever we have asked of him and done so to a high quality finish. We would recommend him to all our friends in a heartbeat, he has given us so many tips on how to take care of our boiler and our new system he has installed. His quotes are fair and you are paying for a master of his craft. If you want the job done properly he is your tradesman. He also likes coffee with a bit of milk in. Thanks for everything Ian.

Ian gave me some advice to minimize the damage in case the vertical radiator came off the wall until he could get there. Unfortunately because of the work done by another plumber it made his job more difficult but he stuck to his quote and stayed late to complete the job. He came back at a later date after repairs to the interior wall hade been completed and replaced the vertical radiator. A very pleasant, accommodating and tidy worker.

Ian Devine was recommended by a friend when I discovered a minor leak underneath the kitchen sink; something he fixed most satisfactorily. Some three years down the line, and just before this Bank Holiday, I had a major pipe burst behind the boiler on the ground floor quite late in the evening - water everywhere about an inch deep. I rang and he came round! I hadn’t really thought he would even answer the phone seeing it was ‘out of hours’ and was contemplating ringing the emergency services. He was unbelievably calm and professional in spite of the chaos he was presented with: stopping the water cascading, immobilising the gas and double checking all was safe. He was up front about when he would be available to undertake the necessary repairs due to work promised elsewhere, and then completed it within the promised time frame working round my child care commitments. He has replaced the wrecked boiler, removed the ancient water tank in the loft (an exceedingly old system which had been giving me nightmares for some time) and fitted a new boiler in an altogether more suitable area in the house. He also replaced radiators which were well past their sell by date. Very impressed with Devine Plumbing & Heating Services not only for the professional competence, fair price and guaranteed work but for the care and attention given to carrying it out. And eternally grateful for the initial ‘rescue’ response.

Ian ran a gas line for me which can be used for a gas fire. He was quick to respond to me, came round to give a quote the next day and then did the work the following day. He was friendly and helpful, even giving me advice on my boiler too! He was thorough in his work and left everything tidy at the end.

I'm very happy with the work Ian has done for me, he was able to schedule me in for the following day to complete two gas safety checks, despite having to change vehicles even to get to mine on the day and all for a very reasonable price. He arrived promptly and completed the work very thoroughly taking time to ensure I was aware of any issues and potential issues that could crop up. He clearly knows what he is talking about! Also, at the first property the gas safety shutoff tap was very stiff so he organised Transco to sort it out who were able to replace the valve within an hour on the same day free of charge.
