My 89 year old neighbour asked me for advice, after discovering the on/off switch to her immersion heater had stuck in the on position, and the switch box had felt warm. After a brief look myself, it was clear that professional attention was needed. Since neither of us had used an electrician for many years, I offered to find a local contractor, recommended on Which?Local. I spoke to Mr Foreman on my neighbour's behalf, explaining the problem and that she would like to upgrade to a timer switch. This was at about 4.00 p.m. in the afternoon. Mr Foreman said he would come round the following morning between 8.30 and 9.00 a.m. When I called on my neighbour at about 11.00 the next morning, the job had been done, very much to her satisfaction in both efficiency and cost. Mr Foreman subsequently took the trouble to call me back to confirm he had completed the job and had assured my neighbour that if she encountered any problems. e.g. with altering the settings of the time switch, she could contact him and he would call again. Altogether, excellent service.
