The service provided by Ian was efficient, speedy and professional. We had to re-fit a number of halogen lights with LED lights along with other replacement lights and smoke detectors. Ian skilfully undertook the job in the course of a couple of visits, and ensured that any debris, mess, etc. was cleaned up following completion of the job. I would have no hesitation recommending Ian as an extremely competent and personable electrician.

Ian installed internal and external lighting for us in a new garden cabin and did a fantastic job. At his initial visit he reviewed the electrics in the house and the power requirements, made recommendations and had suggestions regarding the style and positioning of the lights which we agreed with. We are so happy with the outcome, the external lights are lovely and the WIFI switching means we can turn them on and off from the house too which is really helpful when walking to and from the cabin at night! Ian even adapted the lighting, reducing the internal fittings when he saw that 3 would provide plenty of light for our needs. We were able to use the extra light in the garage, the single bulb we had barely provided any light so we always had to open the garage door but now its a well lit space too! We need to get more work done inside the house next year and will definitely be asking Ian to do the job for us! A pleasure to have in the house, tidy and reliable, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

Called Ian with a socket problem he called back within two hours I explained the problem and he went through a few scenarios and it was decided that I could sort the problem myself which I did so he sorted the problem over the phone so he did not charge a call-out fee and left me a happy customer so I would definitely use him again and would recommend him to anyone who needs a electrician very honest and professional great service

I had a faulty lighting problem which Ian attended at the agreed time and carried out a full check. Ian eventually located a faulty wire within the walls which was shorting and was able to resolve the problem without damaging the walls. Ian was amiable, very professional and explained everything clearly. I have no hesitation in recommending Ian for any electrical issues.

Ian has carried out electrical work for me for some 5 years now. Recently he replaced my bathroom fan but during Covid he carried out a complete re-wiring of my house just before I moved in, so complying fully with all Covid regulations. Ian came round and carried out a fault finding on the lighting circuit, charged the RCBO in the fuse board and sorted the problem. He seemed to know exactly what was wrong and explained this to us. Ian was very thorough, professional and friendly. He met with me several times before beginning work to make sure I understood the process and that we were on the same page with what was had to be done. He rewired my ground floor flat, working around my existing furniture and clutter as it was not possible to clear everything from the flat and moving things and returning them as he progressed, He even made friends with my cat! Ian was recommended via a work colleague for completing work to a high standard and charging competitive rates. We had a socket in a bedroom that was not in use. Ian came round to investigate and gave a clear breakdown of the work that needed to be completed and the costs involved. Whilst completing the job, Ian spotted another issue with our electrical board and after checking with us, he completed that work too. I asked Ian to change 2 old fluorescent tube fittings in the kitchen and loft. This was done quickly and efficiently. He is friendly, polite and was helpful with my other queries, I would have no hesitation using him again.

I presented Ian with a tricky problem. An intermittent fault that was tripping a fuse. A previous electrician had failed to find the cause but Ian eventually tracked it down to some wires in a conduit. He then came up with an innovative solution that avoided any damage to the walls. Everything was done quickly and cleanly and at a sensible price.

I saw Ian's details on the Which website and since he was local, decided to call to see if he could quote for some new lights in my bathroom. The previous ones were not high quality and water damaged. He came around within a few days, convenient to us both and gave me a reasonable quote to provide and replace new lights and bulbs. We agreed a time to undertake the job and Ian arrived promptly as agreed. All work carried out and he also made safe some of the wiring which unfortunately had not been done to the required standard by the builders who had previously replaced my bathroom. All finished in good time.

Living 'overseas' as they like to say, and renting out my house in Hertfordshire long term, it is no easy task finding good tradespeople. In 2017 I found Ian Foreman on Which Local and gave him the job of replacing the smoke and fire alarms. Since then Ian has replaced the kitchen downlights with LED, done two EICR certifications, replaced the fuseboard to the latest safety standard, installed other odds and ends as required over the years and even fixed the door handle on a kitchen cupboard. Ian quickly established himself as my number one trusted go-to guy (another horrible modern expression but there you are, that's progress). My tenant loves him; anything she needs, he jumps on it immediately, once even on Christmas Eve! He is a great guy, a top quality professional and I just hope he enjoys doing jobs for me as much as I enjoy having him at the end of a telephone. As to the boring stuff: his work is top quality (also confirmed by my tenant and my letting agent, in case you're wondering) and his prices very fair; he is efficient, clean and tidy, prompt, a top communicator, etc. etc., you know the spiel. Bottom line: I can't recommend Ian highly enough. Long may he blow your fuses...

I contacted Ian on the recommendation from a friend, who has used Ian's services a number of times. He replaced my old circuit board and earth bonded both gas and water supplies into my property. He was prompt, friendly and informative, inspiring confidence in his work and obvious expertise. We felt totally at ease with him in the house, clearly a boon for anybody, either nervous or vulnerable. Work and service are undoubtedly top drawer, supported by the paperwork and adherence to the regulations. When I first contacted him, he was unable to answer my call, so he immediately returned the call so I did not need to call again. He came quickly to look at the job and followed with a quote 24 hours later and undertook the work without undue delay. Went to great pains to clear up afterwards, and stated clearly that if there were any issues, he should be available 24/7.

Ian was very communicative and interested whilst locating the fault in the bathroom lighting. He improved my understanding by updating me regarding the technical changes over time with bulbs. He helpfully tested a separate double socket which was old but didn't require replacement currently. He explained about the process for Which? Trusted Traders including training and qualifications. He also clarified that he was qualified to complete earthed gas and water bonding which I had been told was now necessary. He also recommended updating the old electrical switching board. I have no hesitation in recommending him and look forward to seeing him again to complete the next planned works

Had to contact Ian about an old damaged cable running from the fuse box in a property I’d just moved into. He arrived on time and removed and replaced the damaged part of the cable and installed a junction box to join up the new cable.
