We have a 1970s house with a lot of roof, which was redone about 2 decades ago. We have known from comments made and repairs needed that all was not good, but various tradesmen over the years have just replaced small parts. We asked FRBS to look at part of the roof where tiles were broken. They are a family business and every time one of them went up on the roof they took a video with a voiceover explaining what they were seeing and what the problem was, which they shared with us. That, and the fact that they were prepared to look at the bigger picture, has been a game changer for us. Though the job started as a few tiles and some pointing they were able to show us the need for a more comprehensive overhaul, which was not a surprise. As they have a precept that once they start a job they will finish it, they took it on wholeheartedly and gave us a new roof with beams and joists within a week. Incredible organisation and team work and tidied up every night and at the end. So we had an intensive experience of highly professional people who were friendly and accessible, have done a great job and whom we will use again and would highly recommend.

James and his team carried out work on roof the day following my call. The gutters and valleys were cleaned out and repaired by Conner and his young assistant. Both were very pleasant and all mess was cleaned after job completed.

We needed the gutters replaced and contacted FRBS. They are a local contractor and provided a quote immediately. The workers arrived within two days to erect the scaffolding. The roofers arrived a few days later and started removing the old gutters. They then installed UPVC fascia and soffit. Later that day they started installing the gutters. The job was completed the next day. The workers did a great job and went the extra mile.

A great team. They were very informative, friendly and quick. The job was for our elderly mother and they kept her and us involved from start to completion. A very professional business and would recommend their work. We were all delighted.

FRBS completed roughcast work on our house to a very high standard we were so pleased we asked them to come back and to roughcast a garden wall to match the house. The work was completed very quickly. The builders cleared all debris and cleaned and cleared their work space. They were friendly and hard working. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend FRBS.

FRBS has just completed a full overlay of my soffit and facia, along with replacing gable end caps for the roof and replacing all gutters and downpipes. Their approach and work has been truly excellent; completed on time, to the quote and technically "right on the money". I have had full discussions with both the FRBS owners and the guys on site on options and progress. Couldn't ask for more. Really pleased with the work and the house looks pretty good. Would recommend them to anyone.

The tradesmen that completed my work explained every step of the job and gave me choices, to which way I would prefer the finishing touches. FRBS replaced most of my roof a few years ago and did a fantastic job. Having had some water ingress I called them again and they came out straight away and sorted the problem (build-up of materials in the valley leading to pooling). As before they were professional and friendly and most of all I trust them (having had many run-in in the past with cowboy traders!). I would thoroughly recommend them

I had a leak in my roof, which started on Thursday last week. I had called four other local roofers and none had come out as advised. I called FRBS this morning and luckily spoke with Anthony, who confirmed he could take a look this morning, which he did. Not only did he take a look but fixed the issue then and there. So happy that a small leak will not escalate into a massive issue. Thanks Anthony for your quick response and for fixing the leak.

FRBS submitted a very good and competetive quotation for the work, which comprised the re-rendering of a block of four separately owned cottage flats. The schedule for the work was organised very efficiently by the office and showroom staff. They kept all four flat owners well informed and communication was excellent The builders carried out the work very well and to a very high standard. Although hampered by a period of extremely bad weather, outwith their control and typical for the west of Scotland, they then completed the work quickly and efficiently and to a high standard. The overall finish for the work was excellent and very pleasing to all four neighbours. The company is well organised and professional and I would happily use them for future building works at the property.

I needed work done on a crumbling chimney. The work required turned out to be more than initially thought as the chimney was crumbling badly on the inside. I was shown pictures of the chimney and the work needed to put it right explained to me. I am delighted with my lovely white rendered chimney which improves the look of my property. Anthony and James give reassuring advice and I was kept informed. Margaret on the phone is extremely helpful and they have a great team of workers. I would have no hesitation in using this company again and to recommend them.

Peter came out within 2 hours of contact to assess the cause of a leak in my roof. Anthony and his team were out within 24 hours to carry out the repairs. Great service and a job well done with the team clearing away all debris. Very professional throughout. I would highly recommend.

FRBS replaced the guttering on my house and repaired and pointed the ridge and hip tiles on the roof. A first-class job completed tidily by excellent tradesmen who obviously take a pride in their work. The guttering was tested for leaks before they left the site and all was well. Thank you, David, Chris for the workmanship, James for the surveys and quotes and for the office staff who kept in touch through the quoting and scheduling of the work. A couple of weeks ago we noticed that our next door neighbours were have some roughcasting work on their garage. One of the team working next door saw the distressed look of our garage roof and asked me if I would like a quotation for roof repairs and new roughcast. Our garage had suffered badly from water penetration over the years and some of the roof timbers had rotted and parts of the roof had begun to fall in. I had been reluctant to have any work done because of the pandemic but the dangerous state of the roof and the very competitive quotation from FRBS convinced me that we should go ahead with the repairs. The team from FRBS were working on a number of houses in the area and said they could start almost right away. We were reluctant to take up the offer as we were just about to go off for a short break but the job foreman suggested we just go and the job would be finished by the time we returned. Before we set off they had dismantled the dodgy roof and had replaced the rotted timbers and made the structure wind and watertight. We came back from our break to find our garage looking great with its new roof and fine roughcast coating. FRBS had inserted a new PVC window to the rear to allow in more light and had ordered up a new narrow side window which would take a few weeks to deliver. Although we still have a few little items to resolve we were really impressed by the way FRBS used their workforce to quickly get the job done. I would have no hesitation in recommending.

Anthony Davidson called to assess what was needed and priced the job (rough - casting my house) A couple of weeks later Peter arrived with his team and within 2 days the job was completed. The boys worked non stop and were very respectful. They cleaned up after they finished. They did a very good job and consulted me a few times to ask what my preferences were. All of the staff I dealt with at FRBS were very pleasant, including the girl who answered the phone. I am very pleased with the work done and would certainly recommend them.

We had James and his team replace our entire roof a few years ago but had trouble with birds nests under the tiles despite the dedicated bird comb being fitted. James arranged immediately to have a team return and check and renew where required these deterants. The guys did what they could but returned as promised the following day and completed the job. There were no if so, or buts, from James just get it complete to the customers satisfaction. Thank you again for a great service.

I'm not going to write a lot in this review of FRBS. What I will say is - 1) Superb in every way. 2) Above and beyond 3) Extremely helpful. Don't hesitate to go to this company for expert advice and workmanship.

We had a persistent roof leak and had previously used a locally recommended roofer who completely botched the job and left the roof in a worse state than before. After this bad experience we decided to use a Which Trusted Trader and contacted FRBS. We were given the choice of repairing the damaged area or totally replacing the roof. As the roof was ageing, we decided to replace it. As the team were busy, there was a delay in starting work, but when they arrived, they worked tirelessly through adverse weather conditions (snow, ice and below freezing temperatures) to finish the job. The roof was replaced one section at a time, with each exposed area covered overnight. James and his team were professional, obviously very experienced and courteous and friendly throughout. The work took 4 days and included replacement gutters. They also pruned overhanging branches of a large tree which were threatening to blow against the roof. They removed all debris, left the site in a tidy condition and returned the following week to carry out finishing touches. Happy to recommend.

After a bit of confusion over start time(communications issue and availability). The job was started and quickly progressed, however, a problem was detected part of the way through the work; this was quickly addressed with more resource being made available and the job completed in good time before Christmas as promised, despite poor weather conditions. I am happy with the result so far, the surprise of the extra work was unwelcome as was the additional expense; the team did their best to reduce my "pain".... a lesson learnt. Hopefully, any warranty work will be dealt with in a similar and efficient manner.

I had a new roof. It took 10 days, with at least 2 working on it. What can I say, James and his team were fantastic. They turned up on time, worked hard and tidied up as they went. James was professional approachable and kept me up to date. On the day they finished James walked me around the property to make sure I was happy with the work. He left me contact numbers in case there are any issues but I don’t imagine there will be. I have been stopped by 3 different neighbours who have commented on how hard they saw the team work and the good job they have done which is always nice to hear. I arranged for FRBS to re-roof my shed and re-do the roof ridge on my house in April. Over and above this they re-felted my dad's garage. In relation to my dad's garage roof I noticed that they had not sealed the felt down at back of his garage and reported this to FRBS within a couple of days of them completing the work and I included a couple of photos as proof. They said they would come out, but didn't. Then the felt came loose at the front of the garage, again I let them know and included pictures - still no repairs done. After a third time of chasing them up asking if there was a problem they came out 6 weeks after original job. They only fixed the loose felt at the front. I let them know they hadn't fixed the felt at the back. This didn't even get the courtesy of a response. So 6 months later the original problem still isn't fixed. I expected much better of a Which Trusted Trader.

Work carried out to a high standard. Would use for any other work required and highly recommend to family and friends.

Work to be done, was to repair and correct front of house roughcasting and replace front guttering. First impression good, any problems that I had with the work that was to be done, were quickly assured by FRBS that they would solved. After accepting estimate, which was reasonable, for the work being undertaken, a start date was offered, accepted, and started on time. FRBS were easy to communicate with, with no issues about the work while it was being done. The finished product was well above standard. FRBS carried out the above work for us a few weeks ago. The work was started on the date scheduled and completed within 5 days. The communication before, during and after work was very good and the work itself carried out to a high standard. On the basis of my experience, I would have no hesitation in recommending FRBS.

We've needed our roof done for a long time now and decide to bite the bullet! Two of our neighbours had there roof/roughcasting done by FRBS and all looked great they highly recommended them! From start to finish new roof /roughcast to our semi/detached house. James and his team kept us informed and guided through the process of all the work being carried out in our home giving professional advise when needed. We recently had our roof renewed and a new skylight fitted. We were initially impressed by James’s explanation of how he would carry out the work, the materials to be used and he gave us a comprehensive and competitive quotation. The work was carried out by a polite, punctual and hard-working team led by a very experienced foreman. We were kept informed on a daily basis of the progress of the work by James or the team leader. The work was satisfactorily completed on time and within budget. We are very pleased with the high quality work done and have already recommended the firm to several of our neighbours, at least one of whom has asked FRBS to carry out some work for her. We would have no hesitation in recommending this company to others and would certainly use them again.

Roof works included erecting all scaffolding around the property (a block of six flats on a corner location), removing all.old tiles, sarcon, roof felt and one chimney. Replaced with new tiles, ridges, sarcon, roof felt, batons and counter- batons. Job was executed by F.R.B.S.(Scotland) Ltd on time and as per the details on the quotation. Communications during the project were handled well and any queries arising were dealt with satisfactorily. The roofers were very helpful especially Andy and James. The Residents are very happy with the new roof which definitely enhances the building and we would recommend this company to any future clients.

We had several leaks. A local roofer advised us tiles had slipped after the battens below them had rotted away, to get 3 quotes for re-tiling and remarked that no-one was short of work then. FRBS appeared promptly and gave a quotation. He said that once the roof was stripped other repairs might be seen to be needed. We accepted and were told he'd be back to us within 2 weeks with a start date. A day or two later we phoned him as we were worried by wind and rain forecast. The next day he told us he'd rescheduled a job, so we'd be next, timing depended on weather etc,. Three days later we got a phone call around noon to ask if they could come and erect scaffolding, within the hour. Once our roof was stripped, many of our roof timbers turned out to be rotten. We were given a quotation for the extra work, more than doubling the first quote, but after we had seen mobile phone video of what was needed. We also opted for a sloping tiled roof rather than treating the flat roof, when agreeing the extra timber work. The work was carried out well. We were waterproofed when necessary, successfully. Good quality branded materials were used. The work was managed throughout by the director alongside his other jobs. Once we had 3 teams, from separate company vans, working on different tasks. They were all polite, competent, tidy and cheerful, even on a rainy winter day when a team loaded 3 pallet loads of roof tiles up to the top of the scaffolding.

I was very impressed by the work carried out on my neighbours house. I approached James and asked him for a quote to replace the tiled roof, remove the damaged roughcast and re roughcast the entire house. I was also having problems with a leaky flat roof on my garage. James was very polite and provided good advice to solve this problem. We agreed on a price and the work commenced quickly. Despite the poor weather his team of builders carried out a very professional job and I have received great comments from other neighbours who have admired their work. James and his crew re-rough cast and re-roofed our house and garage in a timely manner with the minimum of inconvenience to us.
