We read the existing Which reviews of this company and having now engaged them ourselves to fit a new garage door, we concur with others’ comments and fully understand why they merit a Which 5-star rating. From start to finish Gary provided a friendly and professional approach to our needs, we felt in very capable hands. Everything went as agreed, installation by Gary and Jason of what is obviously a top-quality product was seamless, and the site was left spotless. Put it like this, if we were moving house again and out of the area, and needed a new garage door in the new property, we would be calling Gary and asking him to travel!

Gary was engaging and proactive from the first telephone contact and his communication was excellent until he turned up on site. The work by Gary and Jason was completed in super quick time and everything was explained in great detail which gave me confidence that I was getting the optimum solution at an appropriate cost. All in all a great experience and very friendly service.

Brilliant experience. Gary was able to diagnose the repair I needed to my garage door over the phone and, as it was a small job, fit it around another job the very next day. The quote was clear and given upfront. Plus it was cheerful service from two chaps who clearly knew their stuff!

Due to arthritis needed an automated garage door. Gary provided brochures of options available together with an explanation of the doors he felt would suit our requirements. Quotations were given. Garage door and motor were fitted in a morning. Old door taken away and everything left clean and tidy. Amount paid was exactly as quoted. On completion of work Gary demonstrated the new door and thoroughly explained the workings making sure we were happy with the product. Gary was recommended to us and we would certainly recommend him to others. We found Gary to be both professional and a pleasant person to give us the advice we needed.

Gary came and quoted us. When the order came in he rang to arrange a suitable day. A very pleasant chap who outlined in detail what was required. He completed the work efficiently and we are thrilled with the outcome.

We were delighted with the service and results we received from Gary. He took time to explain the options available to us, arrived when promised and the cost was exactly what he quoted. The door was fitted in a couple of hours or so and the old door was removed. Everything was left in a tidy and clean state and the door worked perfectly.

I was recommended to approach Gary with a problem of remote controls not working as required. Gary immediately made me feel confident in his expertise. He rapidly amended the controls which worked immediately. He showed me the manual method of adjusting and using the alternative controls in the garage. He also lubricated the garage door rails etc. Thank you, Gary!

I saw this company advertising that they were registered as a 'Which? Trusted Trader', and so I decided to contact them to explain that my large and very heavy industrial type electric roller shutter garage door had stopped working and we couldn't get into the garage. Whilst talking to Gary on the telephone I was instantly impressed with his politeness and knowledge and very importantly, advising me what the fully fitted costs were likely to be, including VAT, for some of the possible causes, and his assurance that he would only do work that it was essential to do. A date was set and Gary promptly arrived and was as friendly and polite as he had been on the phone. He wasted no time in getting to work and ruled out that the motor was at fault and that the problem lay with the control unit and that this was also a cheaper repair for me. He replaced that and even fitted a safety system that detects movement underneath the very heavy door to prevent it lowering on anyone stood underneath it. He completed the full system repair whilst with us and we were absolutely delighted with the cost. Gary is a really good lad and his workmanship and customer relations skills are exemplary. Others would do well to follow his example. I wholeheartedly recommend him and won't hesitate to contact him again in the future if ever we need garage door repairs or replacement. From first contact Gary was professional and polite. He visited my home promptly, gave an assessment with no pressure and the purchase was entirely my decision. Quick to quote, the garage door was ordered and I was advised fitting to be in three weeks. Installation was spot on, quick and tidy. Gary is a very nice man and experienced tradesman. Very pleased with work carried out. Excellent service, would highly recommended.

3 years ago we made the poor decision to buy a cheap roller garage door from a company in Manchester. We had problems with this door and we were never happy with it. The company stopped trading and we needed to do something about the door as it would not close fully. I was recommended Gary. What a great guy, he made an assessment and it was clear that the door was not fit for purpose. He made adjustments so it would close and left the decision to us about what we should do. I asked for a quote and I was pleased with what he could do so we went ahead with a new door. What a difference, it looks so much better, it’s sturdy and so smooth in operation. It is also very quiet, there is hardly any noise. Gary also made repairs to the garage from the poor work conducted by the past fitters. I would fully recommend Gary, don’t make the mistake I made

From the very first contact Gary was very professional and his communications were always prompt and informative which is very rare these days. His knowledge was very comprehensive and offered good sound advice without any bias or a hard sell. The ordering process was easy no need for a deposit just pay after installation and Gary's delivery time estimates were spot on. The fitting was quick, efficient and very tidy, Gary and Jason did a very neat job of sorting out the area where the old door frame had been, the finished result was excellent. We are very pleased with the new garage door and the service Gary provided, it was good to deal with a professional who understands the importance of excellent customer care. I've been meaning to write this review for a while but have only just remembered to do it. This is no reflection on Gary and the service he provides, he is brilliant. In this day and age it is such a relief to get a tradesman who offers honest advice, turns up when he says he will and does a really good job for a reasonable price. He is also pleasant and polite. GDS Cumbria was amazing from the beginning. Our garage doors are an unusual size and Gary went above & beyond to come up with a solution to ensure the replacement doors would fit perfectly. Gary and his workmate fitted our new electric sectional garage door. From beginning to end, Gary provided an extremely efficient, professional and friendly service. We required a bespoke door due to the size of our garage door frame, Gary gave us the quote with a timeframe for the supply and fitting and kept us updated throughout. Gary confirmed the time that he would start the fitting process and the time that he would be likely to finish, and on the day he made a brilliant job of the fitting, tidied up perfectly and took us though the workings of the door and what to do regarding the guarantee. Gary is an exceptional trader, it's a shame he does not diversify into all other aspects of the building trade because he is such a professional, efficient and friendly individual! One of the most genuine, honest tradesperson we have met, a pleasure to deal with and buy from. We had a new nine foot wide sectional panel electric garage door, ordered to fit. We asked Gary what deposit he required to place the order, no deposit required he said, pay when the door is fitted and we were happy with the completed job. Quotes for a range of doors were provided and quick email in response to any queries. Very informative when doing the site survey which enabled us to make an informed decision when choosing a door. Less than 2 weeks from accepting the quote until the door was fitted. Very professional and efficient when fitting the door and friendly manner. Gary explained clearly on the use and maintenance of the door and let us know if there were any problems just to give him a ring. Really pleased with the electric roller garage door what a difference to the previous up-and-over door.

Two garage doors were installed to the agreed schedule and budget. We chose this team as a result of watching them install a large garage door in our neighbours property and we are delighted with the finished results. Gary kept us informed of the processing of the order and contacted us when he was in receipt all items. He and John arrived punctually two days later and the whole process was competed in a most efficient and organised manner. We were talked through the processes involved in their use and Gary even offered to come back regularly to spray the runners! The workmanship inside the garage is impressive, the garage doors look amazing from the outside. The considerable amount of detritus removed from the original doors was packed away in their van and the drive was swept and cleaned up perfectly. We were assured that we only had to pick the phone up if we needed any further attention and we knew that these were not just hollow words ! Excellent work superb finish. We cannot speak too highly of our whole experience with GDS.

Gary and John fitted a Garador Roller Door this week. They were easily contactable, polite, tidy, accommodating and were a pleasure to deal with. I am unwell and therefore am 'extremely vulnerable' to Covid; Gary took this into consideration and did everything he could to reduce the risk to me. Fantastic service.
