Unvented hot water cylinder in the loft and boiler service

Gas Angel Heating installed a new 300L unvented hot water cylinder in our loft space. Their communication was spot on from day 1 and provided everything in a timely manner with regular updates including when the engineers were on their way. The engineers Dave and James were polite and treated our property with respect. I was kept informed of developments as they happened and they came back a couple of times afterwards to fix one stubborn radiator which had stopped heating. I would definitely recommend Gas Angel for all your heating and related plumbing needs. Thanks again.

Great company, knowledgeable staff

Gas Angel are a gem of a company. Found through which? Trusted traders and they did not disappoint. Twelve months ago Dave installed our new combi boiler. This visit was for our annual service and our fire service which we have on a plan with them. What I like about them is their professional approach. Appointments are booked easily and reminders sent. Each time they have arrived when expected and the engineers are happy to answer any questions. They checked my boiler settings this time to make sure the flow temperature wasn’t too high. Unfortunately, my old gas fire needs replacing but Gas Angel tried to source a part (sadly obsolete) and kept in touch during the process. There’s no hard sell with Gas Angel, just good honest advice and a professional service. Although they don’t sell fires they have given me a price to install a new one so that when I do replace I can make an informed decision as to who will fit. You can’t really say fairer than that! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. They know what they’re doing!

Quick and efficient service

I had Gas Angel Heating come to look at my boiler and thermostat configuration after having work done in my home. Contrary to what a previously contacted "boiler engineer" recommended, a Gas Angel technician was able to come to the house very quickly, correctly diagnosed the problem and fixed the problem (incorrectly connected thermostat on the upper floors) so that heating was restored to the upper two floors of the house within minutes. The fee was very reasonable for the time the technician was here. We have since engaged Gas Angels with an maintenance plan and for our annual boiler inspection. Great people who care about their customers. I highly recommend them.

New Baxi boiler from a great local company. Thanks gas angels

Had an old Baxi boiler replaced with a new one. Wanted to stay with Baxi as this is my 3rd and has always been good. Dave the owner gave me 4 suitable ones to choose from, 2 a bit cheaper than the Baxi but went with what I know plus this one has a 10 year warranty. Can't fault the Baxi boiler or Gas Angel, they've been great and answered all my questions especially helpful with the new smart hive thermostat which uses my phone to control. We got 10 years warranty from Baxi but Gas Angel gives a 12 month workmanship guarantee too for any little niggles or leaks that might pop up. This was helpful as after about 2 weeks there was a little leak on the pipework under the boiler which I know from past experience can happen. I rang around 10 in the morning and the girl was really good. She sent a gas man out the same afternoon who fixed it, no questions asked, nice and easy. I'll be recommending to my family. Thanks again

Installation not checked thoroughly and poor after care service

We chose Gas Angel because of the ‘which’ reviews. 1. Installation: A Worcester Boiler was installed and the job appeared to go well at first. Mr Mooney the co-owner of the company assured me that I would be impressed by the installation. However within a couple of days I noticed an odious smell around the boiler underneath the sink area where certain pipe connections had not been tightened properly, so I was obliged to line up and tighten them more fully, I also later discovered that the towel rail in the airing closet had not been fixed to the wall securely and again I once more did minor repairs to the towel rail fittings. I was also not impressed when the trainee apprentice who arrived with the owner of the business did not have the tools to cut up a hard plastic water tank using a junior hacksaw which was clearly inadequate for the job and I had to lend him my professional hacksaw for him to complete his task. 2. After Care service: We took out the basic boiler service plan. Communications thereafter were hit and miss. We were obliged to contact the other co-owner Mrs Mooney to complain about the above issues (and rearranged appointments at short notice). She subsequently arranged for her husband to attend who carried out the first service adequately. We have since attempted to book in a second service, following their email reminder and have had no response. We gave them every chance to improve their service but have cancelled the boiler cover altogether.

Annual Service on an unvented hot water cylinder

Gas Angel has been top-notch from my first enquiry to my final call. I turned to them when my original supplier let me down. Phone calls were answered or quickly returned, payment was made easy and the bit in the middle, the engineer was on time, polite, efficient, tidy, pleasant and helpful. From administration to service delivery, I cannot rate them highly enough - what a team.

Too Many Errors

I chose Gas Angels because of the reviews and the Which recommendation. They recommended a Worcester Boiler and I requested they replace all the radiators which took a couple of extra days. The job seemed to go well. But within a couple of days I noticed a smell of gas around the boiler area. Something had not been tightened between the boiler and the external wall. This was fixed. There was a loud banging on the radiator pipes every time the heating shut down. Two lads came out but could not find a problem, but the noise continued. I discovered it is made because a valve is fitted the wrong way round. The owner of the company (David). Came out and when I asked him which way the water flowed I was then able to say the valve was wrong. That should never have been my task. He fixed it and the problem. There were no more problems till winter came but the boiler fan seemed noisy, I assumed it was normal. On 13 December2022 The boiler stopped working and water dripped out of the bottom. Because it was less than a year since it was fitted I called them, eventually they sent a man round that day as it was freezing weather. The pipe that takes away the condensed water was frozen. He had to cut the pipe to get the boiler working. The pipe had not been fitted right as part of it was too thin and it will need re-fitting. Awaiting a fix on that and it still drips. These are not simple errors, one of them could have been dangerous!

We had Ukranian guests coming at short notice and needed a gas safety inspection done. Not only did they come out dead quickly but they didn't charge..as part of their firm's charitable giving. What stars and how kind. I'll be using them for my psid work in future..good people, good service
