Had half our house re-slated and two areas of flat roofs re-felted. Gordie's team did an excellent job. His guys really cared that they were doing a good job and worked efficiently and tidily. Had used them previously over the years for a couple of repairs but this was the first time for major works. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

This is the second time we have used GS Roofing and, once again, they were excellent. This time we were getting new gutters and PVC soffits and fascias. Communication was clear and we got a prompt quotation. The work was done by Andrew and David who were excellent. On two of the four days the weather was utterly horrendous but they carried on regardless. I would recommend this company highly.

Needed a winter check and removal of moss from a flat roof. GS Roofing listened to my concerns around possible dampness coming in to the building as a result of faulty flashing. Turned out to be a separate problem which they will fix in better weather. Clear, concise and prompt. V good reputation in our neighbourhood. Bill turned out to be much lower than expected.

Post storm damage; roughcast from apex of a wall with little access. A challenge for sure but taken on and completed " with a smile" in spite of the difficulties. Previous customer and that says it all.

Gordon and his team undertook a near-full re-roof at my home. Scotch slate, cast iron gutters, some flat roofing and a lot of repair/replacement to rotted timbers. A big job done quickly and well, with clear communication etc throughout. And a fully cleared, tidied work site afterwards. All in all a great work.

I had a few tiles blow off my roof during Storm Éowyn. I contacted Gordon and his team of roofers came round after a few days. I provided photos of the damage and the repairs were done to the agreed budget. Everyone I contacted were helpful and polite. The work carried out was done to a high quality. Highly recommended.

After the big storm on Friday 24th January 2025 in Central Scotland, I noticed the plastic apex cup had become dislodged on our extension roof and the ridge clip had come off. The next morning, I emailed GS Roofing saying we had a small roof repair job. I was not expecting such a quick response as I realised they probably would have a lot more big jobs to do. So I was amazed when I heard the two guys working on the roof on the morning of Sunday 26th January. They did a very good job. I also asked the guy about some pointing work that might need to be done and he took a photo to get a quote. I was really pleased with how quickly the firm came out. We have used them in the past with bigger jobs and we have always been pleased. I would intend using them again in the future. Very appreciative of their work and service. Thank you.

Replaced the rotted rafter ends and came to do the job as soon as they were free which we appreciated when our usual company discovered the extent of the damage was beyond a soffit repair. If you are contemplating replacing your roof, I suggest you should look no further than GS Roofing Ltd. Ours is a 1930s bungalow original with rosemary tiles. We were hesitant to take on a roof job again, after our last replacement in 1985, which was disastrous. The constant hastle of leaks/repairs compelled us to seek a firm we could trust to meet our strict requirements. We are so glad we discovered GS Roofing Ltd. The lead man on the job is also the owner and provided a mind boggling efficiency looking after the site and guiding the troops and yes, he was both working on the job and overseeing the most excellent craftsmanship possible. Organisation of delivery of materials and removal of skips really felt like magic. The company has clearly been very selective in employing positive, careful roofers. Clear communication was a real bonus. Pamela at head office played a vital part in the smooth running of the project. Her interpersonal skills are quite delightful. Professional, prompt response to my enquiry. Gordon was helpful and happy to happy to answer my questions. After assessing my roof and providing me with an accurate estimate, his team replaced a quantity of missing and slipped slates, repaired soffits and cleaned valleys and gutters. Clean, tidy job and would thoroughly recommend them.

We required an overhaul of our slate roof on our 1930s house. Having involvement with property ourselves we know the real value of having a job done well. Our initial thoughts were that our slates may need full renewal but testament to Gordon Smith's integrity and professionalism he confirmed, absolutely, that existing slates/roof was in generally fine order and that a full overhaul was all that was required. His team of four were on site for 7 days, including a full Saturday, and could not have been more timeous, friendly (explaining as they went), and tidy. Cannot fault them nor the finished work - the roof looks great. Felt, strongly, that the price for the work done, and the quality of it, to be more than fair. Cannot recommend Gordon Smith and his team at GS Roofing strongly enough. I would not go by them and will tell others, as I have already done.

The work was completed in a day and a half. Workers were efficient, pleasant and tidy. The job was completed on schedule and I would have no hesitation in recommending this company. A very satisfactory outcome.

We couldn’t be more delighted with the quality service we received from Gordy and his amazing team at GS Roofing! They worked tirelessly in all weathers this past couple of weeks fully replacing our roof – doing so to a very high standard and they made it look effortless. They worked very tidily too – leaving everything as they found it which is no mean feat given the size of the job. We used GS Roofing in Kirkintilloch to re-roof my partner’s house. Despite asking for all rotted wood to be replaced with wood, they used OSB board instead of treated timber for the fillets. These were said to be unsuitable by Building Control and three other roofers we spoke to said they would not use that material because it would fail prematurely. We have also spoken to CORC who also condemned the use of OSB board for fillets. We emailed GS Roofing three times to replace the fillets, telling them we would take legal action if they did not. They have refused. We are now in the process of taking GS Roofing to court to make them pay for the cost of rectifying their workmanship.

GS Roofing have done a first class job replacing my roof and they were quick and on time with the job. I would definitely recommend them to others.

GS Roofing replaced the original roof on the house which was 75 years old, stripping everything off down to the joists and then building up from there. It was a privilege and a pleasure to watch this accomplished team work. They worked intensely and professionally for over two weeks, regardless of the heat or rain. The process from the initial tear down to the final touches was a wonder to behold. The result was a highly functional roof that is also a piece of art. Every detail is perfect. I can't stop looking at it and appreciating the value that's been added to the house. I was sad for the process to be over. Unfortunately, it will probably be at least another 75 years before this house needs another roof. You would be lucky to have GS Roofing put on a roof for you. I couldn't recommend anyone for anything more highly.

Gordon Smith and his company GS Roofing have served us well on roofing repairs over years. This job was for a complete re-roof to replace 80 year old rosemary tiles with modern marley. Gordon attended with us and provided a detailed competitive quote which we accepted. Then lockdown arrived and the start had to be deferred. Once restrictions eased Gordon found the bigger players had grabbed all the available tile supplies. He kept us fully informed on his efforts to get the necessary supply and said he was not prepared to start until he was sure he could finish quickly and competently. In due course the materials arrived and Gordon and his work team descended on us like an invading army. The got the scaffolding up in no time, deliveries of material arrived like magic, they pitched into the work in all weathers with great cheerfulness and dedication. At one point I counted 8 men swarming all over our roof. The work included three replacement veluxes and the craftsmanship in the installation of these was superb. The job was finished in a couple of weeks. They cleared up carefully and were gone! We are delighted with the roof and blown away by the speed and quality of the work. All the way through the operatives were friendly and polite and always careful to keep disruption and mess to a minimum. We are very satisfied customers and would not hesitate to recommend GS Roofing to potential customers.
