Hadley & Ottaway Limited

We initially asked 4 companies to quote for a removal from Essex to Norfolk, three relatively local and one near to our final destination, Hadley & Ottaway. Of the three local options, they varied in information, processes and attentiveness, but they were no match for the Norfolk based company, Hadley and Ottaway who were streets ahead of the other contenders. Their representative visited us and explained the company history, their processes end to end to manage our belongings and gave us references to check out their services. Cost was not the prime driver but Hadley & Ottaway, although not the cheapest of the 4 company's were competitive and obviously the most professional of them all by a country mile. The move required an open ended storage option as well and then a second move to our final destination. The communication and care and attention end to end was superb. Their office staff were polite, with excellent fast communication whenever we emailed or called them. The lads who moved us were polite, professional and very careful, and packed delicate items, including art work, professionally and over and above what would have been considered adequate protection. We cannot praise the end to end process highly enough. We would recommend the company 100%.

Hadley & Ottaway removed us to our new house in Norwich. This included moving a piano and some precious artworks. Their service was impeccable in every detail and every member of staff was courteous, thoughtful and extremely hardworking. We would always use them again.

We had a big move from Norfolk to Devon (3 bed, family of 4) and from the very beginning, Hadley and Ottaway were second to none. I had about 7 different quotes from various moving companies and the "quote visit" was what really stood out to me. The person who visited really took their time to see what we needed, whilst also talking me through the process and what to expect. After the quote came through, it was an immediate decision to go with them. The communication with the office in the interim whilst we were securing a date for the new rental was fantastic. Everything was laid out very clearly and it was very easy to follow. On the day, they arrived bang on 7am and worked tirelessly to put everything on the van. At both locations, every walkway was protected and door covers were put on doors to protect from bumps and marks. On the second day of the move arriving at the new rental, we arrived and they were already there waiting to go. As soon as we had the keys and opened up they got straight to it, making sure everything was in the right rooms. I would choose them again hands down. Perfect service and really put my mind at ease throughout.

It was a wet February day but the team were cheerful and didn't complain once about the weather. They arrived at 8am as agreed and got on with the job. Careful with our belongings and went the extra mile to get our large sofa through a small doorway. They protected carpets and doorways on both properties too. No muddy footprints. We were all moved in by 4pm. Brilliant job. Prior to the move, they delivered boxes when we needed them and then collected them promptly after we had unpacked. Very useful wardrobe boxes. The quoted price was kept to. Everyone was helpful when we phoned them with our questions. From the first visit to the last box, the whole team were great. We have no hesitation in recommending Hadley & Ottaway.

From beginning to end, they provided a first class service. They could not have been more helpful. The office staff understood our requirements and the men with the truck were very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The was absolutely no damage to any items and our enormous mirror wardrobe was expertly dismantled and perfectly reassembled - now better than ever. At every stage they offered more help than we needed and the whole process was really made quite easy. We could not praise them more....

Hadley & Ottaway helped us move house in early January 2026, we had used them previously so our expectation levels were high. They did not disappoint. From the girls we spoke to in the office to thier estimator as well as all the removal guys, each and every one provided us with an excellent service, they worked well as a team and really could not be faulted. They may not be the cheapest but if you are moving to or from East Anglia we would certainly reccomend them!

Hadley and Ottaway are a removal and storage company that we would highly recommend as being one of the best in the business. They were a local company to us and we were only moving a few miles but from the first phone call to them and then Chris visiting us to provide a quote we were given an excellent professional service. This then continued throughout the whole process from the Drivers, Furniture Handlers and the Office support team and nothing was to much trouble for them. The move was all completed in one very busy day and a very professional company which I can highly recommend.

Hadley and Ottaway were absolutely brilliant on our move from Norfolk to Bedfordshire. They turned up early on moving day, had our house packed and ready to go in 3 hours. They were very respectful of our old house, leaving everything clean and tidy, and equally respectful of our new home. They worked tirelessly to get us in and settled as quickly as possible - nothing was too much trouble for them. From coming to quote, talking to the admin staff, to the actual move day, everyone was so professional and it made moving day the least stressful day of the whole process! From the initial contact to the after care - the whole removals journey was excellent. A really clear breakdown of costs and options with clear instructions and helpful tips. Really helpful and accommodating when our move date changed. Turned up early on move day and were professional and in good humour. Super clean and tidy and really took care with our property and all our belongings. Always quick to respond to any queries. Hadley & Ottaway is a removal and storage company that we would highly recommend. Arguably the best in the business... We enquired with a number of companies to move us from North Suffolk to Devon, but from the first introduction of Hadley & Ottaway by Chris, who visited us to quote, we were given an air of total professionalism, and this continued throughout the whole process. The Drivers / Furniture handlers, and of course, the Administration team in the office, so much care and attention to detail was present, and zero damage. The usual unexpected happened during the process of our sale and purchase, and Hadley & Ottaway adjusted to suit our needs at short notice, including moving us into their storage facility. With confidence, we can say this was by far the easiest and stress-free element of the move, and we were extremely grateful. 100% without hesitation, we would highly recommend this company to anyone.
