We contracted Heelas after moving into our home with a very old heating system which was not performing well. We had already chosen to replace the full system rather than repair (the system was 26 years old and showed signs of neglect). From the initial contact right through to the job completion, we were very happy with Heelas. The workmen were always on time, very clean and kept us informed at every step of the job, including when there was an unexpected curveball with a shower. There was a slight issue with the quote, however, it was rectified prior to job start in a fair and equitable manner. All snags were corrected before the end of each day (albeit there were only 2 minor ones!), and we also had a telephone follow up from Dan Heelas himself to check on satisfaction. Heelas are not the cheapest out there, but we are happy that we did get value for money and the satisfaction of a job very well done!

The underfloor heating needed servicing and the hot water circuit to towel radiators need more control. Dan identified the problematic issues quickly and suggested a suitable remedy. Richard attended the property to carry out the work. He was very thorough and efficient, and highly competent. All work was completed in a timely way and the team were very professional.

We are delighted with the boiler replacement and installation of a new radiator that Heelas completed for us. They were very thorough in their initial visit to ensure they really understood everything that needed doing. They were not the cheapest quote, but we had complete confidence that there would be no nasty surprises. They spotted several compliance issues that other companies did not mention, made clear what was optional but advisable as improvements, and they also explained why some expensive procedures and products other companies had suggested were not necessary or even desirable. So we feel confident that the final price paid was probably as good or better than what we would have ended up paying for apparently cheaper companies. As our old boiler had completely failed, Heelas slotted the work in very quickly. The engineer on site was very professional, helpful, tidy and clean, and he took the time to explain how everything worked and make sure the system was running well and to our satisfaction before leaving. I would recommend Heelas without hesitation and will certainly go back to them for any further heating or plumbing work we need.

Heelas Heating and Renewables is a company from whom I have had good service over the last few years. I have had a new boiler fitted (Worcester Bosch) which they service regularly, a water softener and most recently a Bosch air conditioning unit. This was completed before the last mini heatwave so I was able to benefit from a lovely cool room. I have always found the team helpful, courteous and respectful of my property. They respond promptly whenever I have any queries and would have no hesitation in recommending Heelas.

We had really good service from Heelas: thorough, considerate and efficient at all stages of the process, from quoting to completion, so I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. We asked Heelas to supply and fit a Worcester Bosch combi boiler and new thermostat to replace our current elderly boiler. The quote was very thorough and set out a couple of different options and explained additional costs that might be incurred as the job progressed, so there would be no nasty shocks later (in the end, all went very smoothly and the worst case scenario didn't happen.) The work was done really efficiently and neatly, on budget and in the agreed time - it took around a day and a half and we were consulted about it as it went along (eg to check we were happy with the precise placement of the boiler in the space.) They went the extra mile to make good and tidy up - for example, it was necessary to replace some bricks where the old flue had been, and they managed to source bricks of the right colour and check we were happy with them. Everybody we had contact with at Heelas was pleasant, professional, punctual, helpful and considerate. I felt we were in very safe and expert hands, and I doubt you could find a better service.

Heelas fitted our new boiler in June this year, this was postponed from April due to Covid. We are very happy with the boiler and the installation was carried out efficiently and neatly. We have used Heelas over the years for various heating issues, including underfloor heating, their team are always punctual, polite and respectful of your home. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

We chose Heelas for a boiler replacement as they are local to us. The quote was competitive. The engineer (Richard) arrived on time and was very respectful of our newly refurbished wooden floors and laid covers for protection. Richard was keen to involve me at each stage and sought assurances for placing the boiler and new piping. A problem was found with the old expansion tank and a new one was sourced at additional cost. The electric for the old boiler was incompatible with the new boiler and Heelas arranged for an electrician to come that day to remedy the problem, also at additional cost. No issue with these additional requirements as this was explained in the quote. The work completed was to a very high standard and we are very pleased with the new boiler and would recommend Heelas based on our experience. The room was left clean and tidy. The following day Dan Heelas visited to inspect the work and to ensure we’re happy with everything. Our bill followed the next day with the additional work properly itemised.

Prompt with the initial survey and very competitive quotation and on time for the installation on the day. The gas engineers who came to fix it worked well throughout the day altering the necessary pipe work and installing a new boiler and left a very tidy job and fully functioning central heating at the end of the day . They were well aware of their responsibilities regarding social distancing in these difficult times but this did not hamper their work nor cause any other difficulties in the rest of the household nor compromise them explaining the important operations to me such as how to keep an eye on the boiler pressures and refill if necessary, and on the timer functions and operations. Overall, a fully professional approach by all and I would thoroughly recommend this firm to others.

Speedy response & installation of new boiler

The 13 year old boiler in our educational arts establishment terminally failed on Friday 24th January, a detailed quote for a new one and installation was issued swiftly and was within our budget for the quality of the boiler, it was fitted after the weekend over two days & completed on January 28th. Heelas Heating & Renewables supplied us with electric heaters and their engineers were sensitive to our requirements, working around staff & students allowing us to operate as usual and thus not lose any revenue through cancellation of classes. The boiler was neatly installed and the surrounding area left tidy, the work was completed for the amount quoted with no hidden extras, the engineer took the time to clearly explain the operation of the new boiler & thermostat.
