Gary ensured everything was planned out in great detail, including placed work, budget and timescales, with several visits & phone calls, and detailed drawings. Lee and his colleagues came on the planned days and carried out the work exactly as planned, ensuring they confirmed our requirements every step of the way. Timescale and budget were adhered to. We had some very detailed and specific requirements, which they ensured were met. Everyone was polite, considerate, helpful, communicative and they went above and beyond to ensure we were happy with the work. They cleaned up so well that you can't even tell they've been (apart from the beautiful patio and paths). And the photos speak for themselves - the quality of the work is excellent. We can't thank Gary, Lee and colleagues enough. We're now recommending them to all our friends.

After contacting Gary, a booking was made promptly. He was professional, listened to our ideas, wasn't selling an idea or had any agenda and worked with us to figure out the best way to achieve what we wanted. After a second meeting where he took more precise measurements, we got a hand-drawn scale drawing of the project. At no point were we waiting a long time for anything and communication was great throughout. He will most likely be the slightly more expensive quote, but it is more than worth it. We got exactly what we were after. Our project was brought forward by 2 months due to another job being pushed post new year. Despite the fact that they had maybe a weeks notice max, all materials were available when needed and there were no delays whatsoever. Nothing was too much trouble. He had plenty of pictures and videos of past work to give a good idea of what materials/colours would work best. For the actual work, Lee and his team were outstanding. Can't say a bad word about any of them. Lee, Carlos, Pedro and the rest (sorry I forgot your names!) were a pleasure to have around. Again, nothing was too much trouble, they kept us updated of progress, got our opinions on how best to do certain things and were on time every day and left the area tidy each evening. We now have a block paved driveway, a beautiful retaining wall and ramp access to a side door for motorcycle use. 10 times better than anything we imagined and will use them again in a heartbeat. The planning was meticulous, the advice on the blocks was spot on and the attention to detail was second to none. The team did a fantastic job - the new drive and side path look great and add to the look of the house. Very pleased with the work!

We are delighted with the block paving of our driveway and path. From the outset, Gary was very helpful when drawing up the design and making suggestions regarding design and materials. Our new driveway looks fantastic! I chose Hertfordshire Driveways based on the other reviews posted on Trusted Traders. Gary was my initial contact & he drew the plan, sent the quote through and booked the date for work to start. He is a very good communicator! We’ve had quite a lot of building work done and Gary’s communication skills set him apart from other people I’ve dealt with. Lee and his team took a week to lay the new driveway and they were all extremely hard working, professional & friendly.

Gary, my initial contact, listened to what was required, made suggestions and we agreed a plan. I was in the middle of other building works so Gary was flexible on start dates which was much appreciated. Communication was always good and when the work commenced, Gary ensured I did a walk around with Lee who was coordinating the work. This was useful as we could discuss minor points. The work took just under 3 days with 5 workers for most of the middle day, meaning the work was completed faster than expected. They removed a few plants that were in the way and I have been able to replant. They also seemed to do quite a bit of weeding which was a surprise! I had a load of huge boulders that they took away. In fact, they left one, but I was really happy to see it had gone when they came to collect the last equipment. The workmen were punctual, polite and nothing was too much trouble. The arrival of lorries and materials seemed very efficient. We have a shared part to our drive and the men were considerate to our neighbours. Overall, I am really pleased with the work and have already been asked who carried out the work by a village resident looking to have work done.

Hertfordshire Driveways have just completed my shared driveway with my neighbour. Great communication all through the process with Gary and with the team onsite. Any queries regarding brick choices and layout were answered promptly and we were very pleased with the finished driveway.

Many thanks, the patio is amazing, your guys worked so hard in really difficult conditions in the searing heat during the heatwave in July. Each day they left the area clean and tidy and once completed left no mess behind. I engaged Hertfordshire Driveways after comparing with 2 other companies and am very pleased I did. Great first impression from Gary who understood what I was trying to achieve and helped me shape that vision. Subsequently, they have shown complete willingness to be flexible to accommodate changes. Very good liaison with me throughout, realistic timescale from outset on when work could be undertaken and they delivered to that. Very happy with the handover to site manager Lee on the day work commenced. As for the work it has been first-rate. The driveway was largely completed in 2 days and the whole project, which included difficult rear garden access and much construction, was completed within the promised timescale of 5 days. Very hard working team with sometimes up to 6 on-site, and all well-coordinated and with external providers as well such as for the removal of 20 tons of spoil. I particularly liked and appreciated the attention to detail throughout the work. In particular, time was taken on the last day to ensure everything was finished off well, not rushed, and to my complete satisfaction and everything was left very neat and tidy. The result is an impressive driveway and patio work with neighbours commenting on what a good job done and how well and efficiently carried out. I would certainly recommend Hertfordshire Driveways and have had a great experience with them on my project.

We contacted Hertfordshire Driveways after seeing their sign locally and recommendations on a local Facebook page as we wanted a new block paving driveway and patio to the back garden. From the very first contact to completion of the work the experience has been first class. Gary visited on a number of occasions from our first contact to the commencement of work. A consultative approach supported the design for the work, offering ideas that supported the final design. The quote was broadly comparable with other quotes (one difference was that we had a full breakdown of different elements that helped make an informed decision) and it was the relationship and first impression that swayed our final decision. Lee and team arrived as agreed on the 14th June to start work and did an absolutely fantastic job. The team worked like trojans in challenging weather and have given us a fantastic new drive and patio which has surpassed our expectations. Good and regular communication with Gary and Lee (and team) when completing the works.
