When we first contacted Gary at Hertfordshire Driveways we were impressed by his attitude towards our plan and how he was prepared to listen to us and use his experience to ensure that the final plan would meet our needs and specification. We decided to use Hertfordshire Driveways Ltd because we saw a driveway they had completed in Stevenage Old Town. Following a chat with the owner of the house, who was very happy with their work, we decided to get a quote for the replacement of our front driveway and rear garden patio. Gary made the selection of the various materials easy so that we had a style and finish to suit our personal taste. Lee, Carlos and Pedro arrived to do the work. They were always on time, hard-working and no problem to have around the house. Any minor changes, we required as the work progressed were easily dwell with. We are very impressed with the quality and look of the finished product, which has caused a lot of interest in the neighbourhood. A number of our neighbours have expressed how good it looks, in terms of finish and style, and a few have wanted a look at the back garden patio as well. From start to finish, the whole team at Hertfordshire Driveways have been amazing. We had a resin bound driveway extension, a new garden patio and new turf. Gary was really good at helping us decide on all the details and throughout the whole process, communication has been excellent. When Lee and the team started the job, they arrived on time and we were amazed at how hard they worked and the amount they got done on the first day. Throughout the whole project, all the team were professional, polite and always happy to answer any questions we had. Carlos and Pete were here every day and didn’t stop, I think they only took a short break mid-morning each day, so they must have been exhausted. Our neighbours even commented how friendly and hard working they were! What really impressed me is the attention to detail. At every step, they really seemed to care about doing a top-quality job and always asked how we’d like something done. On the last day, they thoroughly cleaned up and even cleaned our neighbour's driveway too. We have been really impressed with Hertfordshire Driveways and would highly recommend them.

Each day they left the area clean and tidy and once completed left no mess behind. Work done: patio, pathways, stepping stones & entranceway. Gary ensured everything was planned out in great detail, including placed work, budget and timescales, with several visits & phone calls, and detailed drawings. Lee and his colleagues came on the planned days and carried out the work exactly as planned, ensuring they confirmed our requirements every step of the way. Timescale and budget were adhered to. We had some very detailed and specific requirements, which they ensured were met. Everyone was polite, considerate, helpful, communicative and they went above and beyond to ensure we were happy with the work. They cleaned up so well that you can't even tell they've been (apart from the beautiful patio and paths). And the photos speak for themselves - the quality of the work is excellent. Gary, Lee and the team at Hertfordshire Driveways have just completed two major projects for us in a two week period. From design to the actual build they have been excellent throughout. They work hard, clean up and consult with you all the way through the build if there are any unforeseen issues. The quality of their work is first class and they also provided tips on maintenance of both areas which is extremely helpful. Highly recommend this firm and this It's the second time using them. Very efficient set up with good planning pre-job. Worked very hard all day and tidied up after themselves. Finished very quickly, leaving me with a fabulous new driveway exactly as I wanted it.

Having moved to a new build the front of the house was left as an uninspirational gravelled area. Gary took on board our ideas before coming up with a detailed drawing. It was great being able to compare the different paving samples before we made our final decision. Lee and the team worked efficiently, keeping the area clean and tidy and were respectful of our neighbours. The quality of the work is outstanding and we couldn't be happier with the finished result. We are very satisfied with Hertfordshire Driveways and the paving they have installed. After contacting the company Gary surveyed the property and helped us to make decisions about what would be appropriate. He visited a number of times to ensure that he had accurately interpreted our requirements. He offered a detailed plan and a breakdown of the costs. The quotation was the most competitive of the four companies approached. The team started the work on schedule and worked extremely hard. The guys on site were always friendly and polite and responded to any requests for changes as the work progressed. The work was carried out over four days of solid work and we are very happy with the quality. The site was left clean and tidy. Lee came the following day to make some finishing touches and check we were happy. All in all we are very satisfied with the results.

We were very cautious when it came to choosing a company to do our driveway as you hear lots of horror stories! However, when Gary came to give a quote we knew from the start that we were going to use Hertfordshire Driveways and we are very glad we did! Gary was not pushy at all and brought many ideas and advice for designing our driveway. The team was able to start the job sooner than we expected which was excellent as they knew we were keen to get it done before heading into the winter. Gary, came to our house to inspect the job. He explained the potential issues with the work and he offered us several choices for the resurfacing. Gary came back a second time with some samples and he was always quick to respond to WhatsApp messages and emails. He produced a sketch plan and a quote. The quote was not the cheapest we had but we were willing to pay a bit more for a quality service from an experienced and accredited company. Videos and pictures of previous jobs helped to convince us. We believe that Gary gave us good advice. The job started on the agreed date and the building team is lead by Gary's colleague, Lee. Lee is very practical and obviously has a lot of experience. The team broke up the existing tarmac drive with a mini-digger and a contrator came and removed the debris within two hours. Lee consulted with us to check that we agreed the plans and pattern of the blocks. The majority of the blocks were laid on that first day and the job was finished by the afternoon of the second day. Our drive is only small at about 25sqm. There are trees adjacent to our drive and the HDL team were very careful not to damage them in any way. We were pleased with the time Gary took to introduce his Company and explain the options and pricing. The building team were professional and friendly. Communications were good throughout.

Hertfordshire Driveways paved my driveway with Marshall blocks right up to the front door including a new manhole cover and a drain. I was very impressed with the speed and efficiency with which they worked. The job was completed on time and on (very reasonable) budget. Arranged to visit my property for an estimate on a new driveway. I was called just before the agreed time and informed they were running late, could the appointment be rescheduled. Agreed to meeting two days later, but then failed to even show up.

The installation team led by Lee then delivered perfectly. The quality of the their work has stood up well. More recently, we needed a modification to the drive associated with other works we have planned.
