Hertfordshire driveways replaced our old driveway with a new block drive about three years ago. Communication with Gary was great, especially in understanding what we wanted. The installation team led by Lee then delivered perfectly. The quality of the their work has stood up well. More recently, we needed a modification to the drive associated with other works we have planned. Choosing a known reliable trader that cares about getting the work done right for the customer made choosing the same team again easy.

From the first phone call & meeting with Gary who arrived as arranged & spot on time we knew instantly that we were dealing with a professional driveway company. The driveway installation & design was not easy due to our own very specific requirements, land layout & walls needed. For Gary no issue was too big or too much trouble to resolve, he went above & beyond, providing professional advice & finding solutions at every twist & turn! He was always easy to contact & truly committed to providing an excellent, extremely efficient customer service, something it seems is hard to find these days. Gary made a sometimes-complicated situation a dream to resolve! The plans provided by him were always well-designed & easy to interpret. Updated plans were returned extremely quickly, including our last-minute change of mind on paving block. On the day of install Lee & crew turned up on time, making sure before starting that we were all on the same page. These guys were truly professional, easy to deal with & worked extremely hard, even ploughing on through very heavy downpours. Throughout install, communication was maintained & site left tidy at the end of each day. Aftercare is top-notch, minor snagging done quickly, without hassle & all work carried out to timescale & budget. We are really pleased with the finished product & service provided by Hertfordshire Driveways Ltd. A number of people have commented how good it looks & we would happily recommend them to anyone who asks.

From providing the initial quote through to carrying out the work the guys were polite and professional. Lee and the team arrived prompt every day, worked hard all day, ensured everything was completed as per the spec and to a high standard. I found Hertfordshire Driveways Limited on a google search and the top listing was via Which. I phoned Gary to arrange a visit and from the outset his professionalism had us sold. Gary made multiple visits to us from the initial visit which really put our minds at ease during the consultation and design phase so that we knew exactly what we were going to be getting. Come the start of construction Gary's team arrived and were prompt with both setting up for the days work and with tidying up at the end of the working day which was imperative to us to ensure that our neighbours were disturbed as little as possible. The team worked quickly while also being meticulous in their delivery of the upmost quality and in constant conversation with us when changes had to be made on the fly due to our unique issues in levels of our build. Lee and the rest of the team that performed the construction were very polite and were more than happy to take the time out to answer any questions we had along the way. Big home improvement work can be somewhat overwhelming but in this case working with both Gary and Lee made this a very pleasurable experience and we wouldn't be happier with the final result.

We were recommended Gary and his team by a neighbour whose drive they had completed, we contacted Gary who was quick to respond and arranged for a survey at a time that fitted in with us. We met Gary and it is clear to see he has a passion for what he does and is knowledgeable making suggestions to aid us with our choices. A fully itemised quote and plan followed quickly within the timescales that Gary had laid out and then we were given time to review and discuss the plans. The links with the quote were useful when looking to decide which blocks we wanted, a final meeting with Gary to confirm our choices and an agreement on when the team could start. Lee and the gang arrived and took just over 4 days to complete the job, all the time working around us so that we were able to get in and out and made what could have been difficult really easy. Hardworking lads who worked in a neat and tidy manner. Lee would check in every morning and evening to make sure we were happy and it was what we expected. Hertfordshire Driveways have just completed two jobs for us, a patio at the top of our garden and a re-paved area at the front of the house and we’re absolutely delighted with the results. Having had bad experiences in the past we were very wary undertaking the massive task of renewing our old and tired driveway. We had several quotes and so happy that we opted for Hertfordshire Driveways. I can’t recommend Hertfordshire Driveways highly enough. From the moment We first spoke to Gary, to him coming to quote for the job, we were impressed with the quality of customer service. He listened to our requirements and was not pushy leaving it entirely up to us to decide if we wanted to proceed - we were not put under any pressure at all. Gary showed us samples of various bricks we had seen the the brochure and helped us with the design. A final start date was agreed and Lee and his team turned up on time as anticipated. They were polite and friendly and completed the job efficiently, overcoming any unforeseen issues and kept the area tidy throughout. The attention to detail was first class. We are so pleased with our driveway, and have had so many comments on the quality of the work and design. We would not hesitate in using Hertfordshire Driveways for future projects ie patio, artificial lawn.

Initially I was a little concerned as Herts Drives has very little online presence, but I decided to give them a chance and get Gary and team to quote. I found their quotation very reasonable and their method including working up scale drawings to be incredibly thorough. There are not a huge number of drive companies offering resin and after much research I knew it was what I wanted without paying over the odds for this premium product. The team turned up exactly when expected and were hard-working and courteous. They were clear each step of the way what they were doing and what decision making would be needed to get me the drive I wanted. They were clearly highly skilled and experienced. I have already received many compliments on my new drive, and it has really completed my house renovation. I look forward to many years of use on my new drive, and I don't foresee there being any problems as it is wonderfully done and very low maintenance. However, having the 5 year guarantee is great for my peace of mind.

When we decided to invest in 2 new patios and a new path across the garden, we engaged a number of companies to quote for the project. It was clear from the start that Hertfordshire Driveways were a friendly, helpful and highly professional outfit. Gary offered clear advice as we developed our requirements and plans. Gary and his team laid a resin drive for us, with edging and kerbs, and we were very pleased with the end product. Before the work, he talked us through the process and discussed our ideas before drawing up a detailed plan and checking we were happy with it at every stage. The work could only be done in the right weather conditions (no rain, not too cold, so the resin could cure), and he kept in regular contact as we waited for the right week. Then the actual work was done in a week, with a team on-site working hard every day. They encountered a few unexpected hiccoughs when breaking up the concrete, but they adapted and resolved the issues without any fuss. Communication was excellent throughout - recommended.

From the very first contact to completion of the work the experience has been first class. Gary visited on a number of occasions from our first contact to the commencement of work. The quote was broadly comparable with other quotes (one difference was that we had a full breakdown of different elements that helped make an informed decision) and it was the relationship and first impression that swayed our final decision. Lee and team arrived as agreed on the 14th June to start work and did an absolutely fantastic job. The team worked like trojans in challenging weather and have given us a fantastic new drive and patio which has surpassed our expectations. Hertfordshire Driveways were excellent in every way, from the detailed quotation by Gary for the agreed work, for the new driveway. On the arranged day for the commencement of the installation which was supervised by Lee and his installation team, one could not fault the standard of work, which was completed on time. It did not matter that there was some light rain on the second day, they just carried on working and finished the installation as promised on the 3rd day.

Great first impression from Gary who understood what I was trying to achieve and helped me shape that vision. Subsequently, they have shown complete willingness to be flexible to accommodate changes. Very good liaison with me throughout, realistic timescale from outset on when work could be undertaken and they delivered to that. Very happy with the handover to site manager Lee on the day work commenced. As for the work it has been first-rate. The driveway was largely completed in 2 days and the whole project, which included difficult rear garden access and much construction, was completed within the promised timescale of 5 days. Very hard working team with sometimes up to 6 on-site, and all well-coordinated and with external providers as well such as for the removal of 20 tons of spoil. I particularly liked and appreciated the attention to detail throughout the work. In particular, time was taken on the last day to ensure everything was finished off well, not rushed, and to my complete satisfaction and everything was left very neat and tidy. The result is an impressive driveway and patio work with neighbours commenting on what a good job done and how well and efficiently carried out. I would certainly recommend Hertfordshire Driveways and have had a great experience with them on my project.

The planning was meticulous, the advice on the blocks was spot on and the attention to detail was second to none. Hertfordshire Driveway Ltd are one of the best companies I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. From the first time we called Gary, his customer service has been second to none. He did the survey and gave us some great advice and ideas with his experience and professional approach. He outlined the whole project and was transparent throughout when it came to the costs and the final outcome of the job. The onsite team lead by Lee were also exceptional. They communicated with us throughout the project to ensure we were happy with the decisions they made. Our driveway has been absolutely transformed from an awful area we never wanted to drive on ever again to something that is now a pleasure to park on. Not only that, but the quality materials and new wall that has been put in has totally transformed the look of our house. I could not recommend this company enough. Gary met me at the agreed time and assessed my requirements for the area to be paved and the need to take care as work was next to a public right of way. I received a quote same day with a follow-up call/discussion the following morning. Agreed timescale for work to commence in a couple of months time and would take 2.5 to 5 days depending on how many worked on the project. However, after agreeing the timescale, Gary managed to fit the work in earlier between a couple of other jobs which was great. Lee arrived with his colleagues and after discussing a few changes, the work was completed in 3 days. Great communication from Gary and Lee. Always punctual and left the site tidier than when arrived. Couldn't ask for more.

Communication with Gary was great from the first meeting. Talk through the options, what would be included and how the work would be carried out. Listened, took on board what we wanted, was flexible in approach and keen to ensure we'd be happy with the outcome. Very easy to work with. The pricing was very competitive and and was delivered to time and cost. Lee and the team onsite were friendly, helpful and polite and did a great job, we've had lots of comments from visitors saying how good the finished pathway looks. Great communication throughout. Hertfordshire Driveways carried out work for new shingle driveway edged with grey paving and laying of new turf lawn to front and side of property. They had excellent communication from first visit and advice and were able to provide drawings and accurate quote promptly. The work was performed to agreed schedule and budget. The work was carried out very efficiently and to a high standard. The driveway has been complimented by several neighbours and passers by.

Hertfordshire Driveways just completed a major project for us, replacing a completely uneven and broken-up driveway with a sweeping, beautiful drive that wrapped around our garage and extended into a large side patio. All laid in super, close-fitting 'Tegular' small-block paving with edging. They communicated very clearly in the preparation stages, producing a scale drawing of the final proposal with details of costs and agreeing on rough dates for the work, and then double-checking closer to the start date to do final confirmation of start day and time. They arrived on time, worked hard every day, and completed the job quickly. In doing the preparatory ground works, they went down deeper than I expected, taking care to avoid damaging my underground power cable - all of which gives me great confidence that the final driveway will last a long time, as it has very good foundations. In completing the work, they paid real attention to small but important details, such as taking time to finish the interface between the driveway and the pavement, and my garage door. Everything was done beautifully and beyond our expectations. Overall, we were delighted. And we felt the price was competitive.

When wife and I started looking for a drive didn't really know what we wanted. We had an old concrete drive one car wide with an old concrete stepped path going to the front door between two old shrub beds and lawns. I got a few companies in for quotes, when Gary turned up from Hertfordshire driveways straight away could tell there was more involvement on his part and it set him apart from the other companies. There was some exchanging of emails, basic drawing designs and ideas, before any commitment made, which guided us towards what we wanted. The fact that they only use one team of guys meaning their reputation is based purely around their work and not the best team of guys in the company. The fact they are which Trusted Traders. The examples of previous jobs were outstanding. All this had me kind of already set on using Hertfordshire driveways but out out of fairness to the other companies thought I would wait for all the quotes to come in. When Gary's quote came in the middle of all the quotes we had, that was the icing on the cake. So green light was given and then Lee and the guys turned up. All of the guys were open to questions, courteous and went out of their way to ensure we were happy. The quality and visual impact of the final drive is outstanding. I've had several builders come around since, for another project, all of them praised the quality of the work. Excellent quality driveway from Gary and his team. Were on time on every day, cleaned up well after completing our shingle and block paved driveway and always responded to all queries immediately and provided an excellent service. Wish all construction work was as good as this.
