From start to finish, you guys have been amazing! Nothing has been too much and no question has been a problem. The guys were all brilliant and it couldn’t have gone any more smoothly. They were all super fast and efficient. We were super grateful for all the help and we couldn’t have asked for anymore. Lee was super good with the kids, wanting to help unload on Saturday and let them get involved and that meant a lot. They make moving look easy! Thank you to you for being so kind and patient with us and listening. Once again, just a massive thank you to you all.

Shenda and her amazing team made our move day run extremely smoothly. From the very start of the process, In Excess were clear about what we needed to be do to be ready to move and so accommodating in supplying all the packing materials we needed. The day was not without its challenges...pouring rain all day, a bed that just would not dismantle and a loft room with very little space but the team were completely calm, professional and got everything done so quickly. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Shenda & the amazing removal guys were so accommodating, friendly & professional they made the whole moving experience so less stressful. From the outset of contacting them with my urgent request, (I was let down with my original moving date & had to find a new removal firm just before Xmas was harrowing), Shenda, not only booked me in but assessed my problem with access at the new property. The guys arrived early, and managed to get everything on board with the smaller vans, it was a miracle! Nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend these guys 100%. PS. They even loan you free boxes and give packing materials (Yay).

Efficient quotation and admin, friendly helpful staff in the office. On the big move day everything went smoothly with no fuss. Mattresses covered, beds disassembled, TV’s off wall etc nothing was too much trouble. The removal guys had the job (St Albans to Chipperfield) all done and dusted by 2:30. Can’t thank you enough for such great service on what is a naturally stressful day. Shout out to Shenda for managing the process. Would highly recommend.

From start to finish this has been a very professional company to use. Very efficient and hard working, friendly, polite and very organised. Excellent communication all the way through. I instructed the “In-Excess” team to move me from my two bedroom flat into a house This commenced the day prior to my move, two of the team that were sent out came to my property to pre load my belongings. In-Excess handled out move for us in July from Hemel to Northamptonshire and we're superb through the whole process. From our initial phone call to book a survey for a quote all the way through to the final box coming off the van the whole team were a joy to work with. Excellent company to deal with from start to finish, family-run and really felt they cared. These guys slotted me in for a very last minute move. They helped make a very stressful move, far less so and were extremely sensitive to the circumstances of my move. They were polite, careful with all of my furniture and did a brilliant job with wrapping up and moving multiple large-scale pieces of art. I am so, so grateful to Shenda and her team. Thank you!

I was recommended in excess by some friends as they used them only a few months before. Out of the 4 quotes we received for our house move, they were the friendliest, most helpful, and least salesman like of the companies that we spoke to! They were also cheaper! They even deliver boxes to you to use for free as long as you give them back! Shenda in the office made the whole process so much less stressful than a house move could have been! The guys on the day got straight on with the job, they were polite, professional, and speedy! I’d definitely recommend In-Excess to anyone in the herts area if they are moving house .

We cannot recommend In-Excess Removals Ltd highly enough, they did a superb job from start to finish. We were unable to exchange contracts until a day before the moving date and consequently very worried that the move date would fall through, however In-Excess could not have been more accommodating or helpful. The assessor and organiser Shenda was so helpful and professional - a real breath of fresh air. The actual move team of John, Percy and the 2 Matts were brilliant. Very well organised and fast. We were moving to a new county with packing services included, which we’ve not had before. From the moment we contacted the company we felt we were in good hands. Extremely professional throughout, Shenda in the office was always friendly and helpful and accommodating to our particular circumstances. The team that packed and moved us over two days were excellent, checking what was to be left out and what was to be packed. They were really careful with our things and super efficient, got everything done much quicker than I’d anticipated. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

In-Excess handled our move to Glossop early in May. They were very professional and helpful at all stages, from the first visit for a quotation to the delivery of our furniture and belongings to our new home. All members of staff who dealt with us were friendly, helpful and efficient. I have no hesitation in recommending In-Excess if you are moving home.

This was the third time we have used In-Excess for moving house over an eight year period. We had a delay with our purchase, which meant that we had to use storage for about a week, but the company was very helpful, and managed to get us moved successfully. This was in spite of the level of activity at the end of March 2025 owing to the changes in Stamp Duty levels.

I have now used in-excess on 3 occasions (work and other family) and can’t fault them. They did everything they said they would and even when an item got damaged they sent someone over to fix it and it’s as good as brand new now! Their price is as good as it gets as well and I will def use them again in the future for sure.

We used In-Excess for a 2 stage move - from house in Hertfordshire into storage, then from storage into new build in Hampshire. From the initial contact and quote to the final move their service was exemplary. We had a very long and difficult chain which nearly collapsed at exchange and Shenda and the office team were great and had the patience of saints in putting up with our daily phone calls and constantly shifting dates. They showed great understanding of our stress and went out of their way to make things as easy as possible. The removal teams, on both the move into storage and the move from storage, were very professional, careful and thorough, and everything was delivered from storage in good condition - even our potted garden plants survived! We would highly recommend the company.

I have now used In-Excess Removals for two house moves and on both occasions, I have been very pleased with their work. I chose them originally because of their competitive quote and the fact that they were recommended by two friends of mine who had used them previously - one for a local move and the other for a move from Hertfordshire to Manchester. From the first enquiry to the completion of the move, everyone at In-Excess was professional, helpful and very understanding of last-minute changes. Supplies of boxes, bubble wrap, wrapping paper and tape were provided in good time and when I realised that a lot more boxes were needed, these were immediately made available. There was also no delay in returning my deposit once all the boxes had gone back. I would recommend In-Excess to anyone considering a house move in the Hertfordshire area.

We used In-Excess to move house from Leighton Buzzard to Saffron Walden and from the initial enquiry to the last telephone call, everyone we dealt with was great. Shenda is amazing, answering all my questions about the move process and she completely put my mind at ease during a rather stressful completion day! We moved house with Inexcess on 6 th December. In the days leading up to the move, they were so good as we had a very tight time frame between exchange and completion. In Excess are a family run business and I spoke to most of the people there in the days leading up to the move. They were extremely kind, helpful, informative and genuinely amazing at communicating with us at what was turning out to be a rather stressful time! When it finally all happened, the stress of moving was alleviated completely! If you pack yourself they are fab at providing materials which also reduces stress. Move day was seamless, the lads were efficient and fast at both ends, listened to where we were directing boxes to and there were no breakages. The price was very competitive too. I would highly recommend and would go with them again if I moved ( which I hope not to anytime soon though !)

In-Excess have moved us twice in our last two moves. It was a very competitive quote and they did an excellent job. Nothing was lost or damaged, the men were professional and polite. They were more than happy to help and place everything where we wanted it. I highly recommend them and they would be my first choice should we move again. Fantastic service undertaken by all. From the point we had our video survey to price the job, right through to the last box lifted from the truck, the service has been exceptional. We had a difficult chain, and ended up exchanging very late on a Monday, with completion on the Tuesday. Shenda got the truck and movers booked and sorted, and the guys were there right on time. Chris and Matt were lovely fellas, who were respectful of carpets and belongings, and did a super fast and efficient job. We couldn't ask for more, and I will be recommending these guys where I can.

In-Excess Removals were recommended to me by my estate agent. They were very easy to deal with from the start and provided clear pricing. There was a fair bit of too-ing and fro-ing on my part ahead of the move to check the availability of the removal van as I was on tenterhooks for exchange/completion dates but the office team were helpful and courteous every time I called them. I decided to have the optional packing service and I'm glad I did as it was done far more quickly and efficiently the day before my move than I could have done on my own. Money well spent in my opinion! The team arrived promptly on the day and worked hard to get the van packed up quickly for my move from Hemel to Somerset. I had been warned that it was likely that they would unload the van early the next day at my new property so I was delighted that they were able to unpack it all the same afternoon and I was able to sleep in my own bed that first night rather than on the floor as I'd anticipated. Whilst not the cheapest of the two quotes I'd obtained for my move, my gut instinct told me they were the right people for the job and I'm very happy I chose to go with them and would recommend them to others.

When I knew I was going to move, I asked locally for recommendations… I am so pleased I did. InExcess, from the start to the finish, were absolutely fantastic. From the initial call for a quote right through the whole process, nothing was too much trouble, no question or query was too bothersome to answer. They, in my opinion, were very fairly priced, they offer the option of supplying boxes, which arrived soooo promptly, as did all the bubble wrap and paper. The chaps on the day were so good, respectful of the property, absolute professionals, only one piece of glass in a picture frame was broken, and that was my fault as I dropped it! 😂 they were not just efficient prior and on move day…. Once I had unpacked the boxes, they came and collected them, on the same day I called I believe it was…. From the ladies in the office who man the phones to the chap who collected the boxes and everyone in between, absolutely cracking company, would I recommend them, 💯 %. Thank you ☺️
