We employed David Demestre to do extensive work on a 1950s bungalow we bought. In just 10 weeks Inspired Restorations converted a garage into a study/bedroom; changed a large bathroom into two areas: an ensuite and a guest bathrom; they fixed the roof and insulated the attic; they completely remodelled the kitchen; they built a front porch, painted over the pebbledash, replaced some windows and made the side entrance secure; did extensive internal decoration and discovered parquet flooring under the carpets, which they then restored. Everything was done to a very high standard, and on time, by David and his excellent subcontractors: they were all friendly, highly skilled and versatile. David was particularly good at interpreting our ideas, at making excellent improvements to them, and gently dissuading us from unwise choices! His approach ensured we always stayed within budget, and we soon discovered what a perfectionist he was in all he did. He responded swiftly to any problems or queries, and chased up external delays robustly. All in all, David and his team were outstanding, and deserve 6 stars!

We engaged the services of Inspired Restorations to update our 35 year old main bathroom, en-suite and wc. Our property was treated with the utmost respect, throughout the renovation process, by David and also his sub-contractors - Ben, Rob and Will. I cannot recommend David enough. He is honest, communicative, caring and fair. He renovated everything in my 3-bedroom house in Marston including re-plastering, redecorating, new ceilings, new floors, new carpets, new internal doors, skirting boards and architraves, insulating the loft, new electrics, central heating and hot water cylinder, plumbing, gas, kitchen, bathroom and the creation of a new downstairs toilet. Basically, he left me with an entirely new house! He even sorted out the garden, some new blinds, lampshades and a new washing machine so that the house was ready to move into straight away. His quote was very good value for money and he worked to budget. I was abroad during the project. David patiently worked around my timetable, started as soon as the house was empty and completed the works on time. Throughout, he kept me up to date and supported me when I was struggling with decisions. He also gave me sound advice and suggested changes which will future-proof the house. I am so grateful to have had someone so diligent manage and deliver something this important. David is an empathic and caring person who works to a high standard and takes pride in what he does. I would not hesitate for a second to use his services again and would recommend him to friends and family.

We sought the services of David to fully renovate, including open plan, a house we bought in Central Headington. We were impressed with him right from the start with his personality, his commanding knowledge of his trade and his invaluable suggestions underpinned by our wants and needs. David renovated the main bathroom, toilet and upstairs shower room in my period cottage, work which could have been extremely disruptive but was carried out with careful planning and consideration to minimise any impact. He was very helpful in the planning process and made suggestions which I had not considered, without ever pushing his ideas. The work was carried out within the time frame and to budget and was of a very high standard. David was very agreeable to work with; I was kept informed of progress throughout and was able to input many small but important decisions so that the completed project is just what I wanted. Dave refurbished the kitchen in the cottage we had just bought. We did not want to spend too much so we kept the carcasses and had new doors and a new oven stack. We also reused all our old handles. Dave was great in the planning stage and didn’t try and push us into spending more than needed. We were very pleased with the result. Most of the fitting was actually done by Barry who often works with Dave, also excellent. Dave came on the 1st day and the last day to finish off and make sure all was OK. We are expecting Dave to come and do our bathroom later this summer.

David and his subcontractors recently renovated our bathroom. He patiently support our decision making and cheerfully undertook the work. He kept us up to date with progress and timings. We’re really happy with the finished product and would really recommend him.

We used Inspired to overhaul our bathroom in 2021, not due to recommendation but because of his attitude when he came to assess the job for quotation. David didn't try to impose his ideas or steer us to things he wanted (unlike some others!). He has a "can do" attitude and takes the unexpected in his stride (there's always the unexpected in this type of work). A year later we asked Inspired back to tackle our kitchen, which involved major wall demolition, complete re-wiring and re-plastering. Which was all completed to a very high standard. Even when the flooring supplier let us down, he found time in his schedule to come back and lay it when it was finally delivered. Nothing seems too much trouble. We have no hesitation in recommending Inspired Restorations.

David has been renovating our >30-year-old estate-built house; a room a year for several years with the exercise now almost compete. At the end of this process we will have a fully-renovated home rebuilt to a very high standard to our specifications. The result is transformational.
