Helpful, well-informed, and realistic during quote process. The job itself - turned up exactly on time, did the work as agreed, polite throughout, tidied up afterwards. Only criticism is, unlike other roofers, didn't provide photo evidence of problem, or of work done to remedy problem. Docked one star because of this, but otherwise highly recommended.

John and his mate arrived on time and carried out the work to our complete satisfaction - the price quoted was exactly as we agreed with no hidden charges and what a plus that is these days. We particularly liked John's way of dealing with our concerns before even agreeing to the job. To us this is very important of course, but as we said, we were not disappointed at all. Would highly recommend!

I was let down by a rogue trader who started my roof, who left the job half done after the building control inspector found that he was not doing the job correctly. I got in touch with J W Scudder Ltd, explained my situation, they were very sympathetic and understanding. They re-arranged their schedule to fit me in. They started the job on 5/01/17, worked very hard, quickly, efficiently and completed the job in 5 days. Well done.

JW Scudder is a family business and they replaced our roof, guttering, facias and soffits. They did an excellent job and were efficient, hard working and polite. The work was completed on time. They even came back after the scaffolding was removed to clean the facias. I would recommend them to anyone wanting any work carried out on their roof.

John and his team carried out a great job in replacing a felted roof with an EPDM membrane, despite numerous interruptions due to rain. The workmanship was of a high quality and the price was very competitive. John constantly kept me in the picture as to progress and what was to happen next. He also took numerous photos to show me what had been done as I was not always present. I would definitely recommend this company for any roofing work.

I was very impressed with John and his son. We had bad deterioration at ends of some of our wooden soffits and instead of quoting for complete replacement he cut out and expertly replaced these parts plus mastic sealing and repainting. He also cleared all our gutters and removed old birds nest under the soffits. All this at no extra charge. Altogether a very good job by a gentleman of the old honest/reliable school. As a long standing member of Which it was most useful to find Mr Scudder on your Trusted Trader site.
