John and his team originally re-roofed my property nearly nine years ago. They did an excellent job, and I've never had any problems with the roof itself. I've just needed to ask John to come back to fix a couple of normal 'wear and tear' issues - one was a bit of repointing of adjacent brickwork and one to replace some sealant. On both occasions he fitted the jobs in quickly and provided excellent service.

We had chimney pot covers fitted and a few missing tiles replaced back in Sept. Although the job was a small one John was very responsive to our request for a quote and completed the work very quickly. He was recommended to us by a friend and he is a very honest trades person and only does what is necessary and for a fair price. Would definitely recommend him. Thanks!

After much research we came across J W Scudder on the Which Trusted trader website. The job was for a complete new roof. John spent a great deal of time explaining the work, materials and time frames, and showed us his Company credentials. John kept us informed throughout and all work was completed to plan and we are very pleased with the result. John visited us after the work was finished to make sure we were happy. We are very late leaving this review as it was repair made nearly a year ago now and my apologies to John for this. We needed an emergency repair on a flat roof which had failed completely and, as a result, rainwater was flooding the room upstairs every time it rained. At the time, we had difficulty getting anyone to come around and look at it, never mind give us a quote. However, John arrived on time to provide a quote and gave us a few different options and an idea of when they could do the work. He followed up with the written quote and we were pleased that he was able to fit us in quickly (thankfully it was not a long job). Once the work was completed he sent us some before and after photo's. I can't tell you what a relief it was to get this sorted out and we were (and still are) very grateful indeed. Very neat work and not a leak in sight !.

From the moment of contact to a follow-up courtesy call John was unfailingly helpful, polite and professional. On the first visit he took care to explain what he needed to do in detail and plain English (no technical jargon that I couldn't understand). He showed me all the necessary paperwork, including his accreditation, qualifications and insurance cover. The date for the work was quickly agreed and the work completed within ten days of contacting him. He and his son were pleasant and hardworking and cleared up after themselves. All this together with a very competitive quote means that I would not hesitate to recommend them and would happily use them again.
