We are very late leaving this review as it was repair made nearly a year ago now and my apologies to John for this. We needed an emergency repair on a flat roof which had failed completely and, as a result, rainwater was flooding the room upstairs every time it rained. At the time, we had difficulty getting anyone to come around and look at it, never mind give us a quote. However, John arrived on time to provide a quote and gave us a few different options and an idea of when they could do the work. He followed up with the written quote and we were pleased that he was able to fit us in quickly (thankfully it was not a long job). Once the work was completed he sent us some before and after photo's. I can't tell you what a relief it was to get this sorted out and we were (and still are) very grateful indeed. Very neat work and not a leak in sight !.

From the moment of contact to a follow-up courtesy call John was unfailingly helpful, polite and professional. On the first visit he took care to explain what he needed to do in detail and plain English (no technical jargon that I couldn't understand). He showed me all the necessary paperwork, including his accreditation, qualifications and insurance cover. The date for the work was quickly agreed and the work completed within ten days of contacting him. He and his son were pleasant and hardworking and cleared up after themselves. All this together with a very competitive quote means that I would not hesitate to recommend them and would happily use them again.

I needed new guttering to the rear of my house and some minor repairs to my roof. John spent time looking at what was needed, explained in depth what he intended to do. Fast turn around from initial contact, to visit, to quote, to work being completed. Very happy with the work completed, price and friendly faces.

John Scudder visited our home to discuss our roofing requirements. He spent a good hour here inspecting the job and what needed doing and going through what his business offered and how the completed job would all comply with building regs. Within a week, I had a written quotation and details of work to be undertaken. I felt confident that I was going to have a professional company working on my roof and I was not disappointed. I was more than impressed with the finished job. The tidiness and work rate of the roofers was fantastic. I would have no hesitations in recommending their services and have already referred a number of friends to JW Scudder Roofing. Thank you for making the whole process effortless.

After speaking to several other roofing companies, some of which declined the work and others who simply quoted a vast sum, we were recommended to speak with John as he had the necessary qualifications and knowledge needed to repair our 800 year old Grade II listed roof. Not only did John and his team clearly demonstrate this knowledge but all was done at a very competitive cost. Big mention to John's son (also John) who carried out the majority of the work and was a pleasure to have working here (as also the rest of the team). Clearly much needed skills are being passed down the generations!

It was a real pleasure doing business with John and his son. John was the only roofer to go through his professional accreditations with me at quote stage. And right through to completion he kept me fully informed of what was happening and about any changes along the way. They have done a thoroughly professional job and the finished roof looks really exceptional; it's work of a very high standard – all for a fair price. The team also did some extra work for me while managing to shave some money of the original quote. Trustworthy, courteous and highly professional - a brilliant family firm.

Company undertook to replace both our flat roof and garage roof. John and his team are very professional and explained what the jobs entailed, the time it would take and the procedure and materials to be used. No deposit was required and payment was only on completion of the work. Would highly recommend this company.
