I am disappointed to read this review as I feel that I fully explained this when the problem was brought to my attention. The over lay fascia boards is a solid timber, in which the block work for the gable was in place and the soffit was fitted to top of the window, so we could not have taken them out, which I informed the customer of this on my visit. The window fitter advised the customer that if we had seen the need for more timber support and informed the customer to that affect then this problem would not have happen. Any timber support work for the bay was not in our scope of works as we did not receive any instructions for this work, solely the replacement of the roof because of the insulation in the loft we would not have seen this anyway. The roofing structure was sound when we replaced the roof which, at this point, was the end of our contract. The window fitters removed the window, three weeks later ( we have not had any communications or contact with this company when they took out the window ) which, as it seems was supporting the gable end so it might dropped. I would have thought that the customer would have asked them the window fitters if they had check before they took the window out if any additional supports were required as houses of this kind are built this way. IF WE HAD NOT CARRIED OUT THE ROOFING WORK, THIS PROBLEM WOULD STILL HAVE OCCURRED. I am sorry that the customer has taken this view and even though I thought I had fully explained the works that the customer feels that we as at fault. It was only when the window was removed that the problem occurred as we did not take the window out there is nothing we can do.
