Serviced our oil boiler then the first time we used it the boiler set on fire, luckily I was in the room when it happened if this would of happened when it was set to come on using the timer when everyone were in bed there could of been fatalities. Our boiler was forty years old but like I say worked perfectly before the service, engineer came back to look at the boiler but said couldn’t find a fault as why the fire started. The engineer on his second visit found he had left a foreign body which was a one inch long plastic nozzle cap from his initial visit inside the boiler housing which Johnathan the owner of the company tells me is common practice but I’m not so sure? We will never know if this was the source of the fire but leaving something that is combustible inside a hot boiler doesn’t sit well with me. Company still harassed me for the service cost even threatening court action. To summarise nice people to deal with but sometimes in business you have to hold your hands up and say we could be at fault here and as a good will gesture for the sake of a service cost we’ll call it quits.

It is sometimes inevitable that a 40 year old boiler will develop faults before, during or after a service, maybe we could of condemned it but we had no reason to believe this was necessary at the time and I am certain having spoke to you that you would not of authorised us to do this. The small plastic nozzle holders that are routinely left inside oil boilers can not and did not cause a fire instead it was an old fractured component that was found to have leaked oil. If I thought for a second we were at fault you would not of been charged. We came out at a mutually agreed hourly rate to a very old boiler I believe I did everything I could to help your situation including giving you lots of advice and i provided quotes for a new boiler which I believe has been fitted by another company. You still have to pay for our time, I still have to pay my staff. I would be happy to discuss further with you if you need.

We've just had a Worcester Greenstar boiler installed by JB heating and the service was outstanding. They attended to do the fitting the very next day after quoting a very competitive price over the phone. I know they put themselves out to get to us so quickly and it was hugely appreciated as we had been without a boiler for a week in December. Matt - our engineer - and both his apprentices were polite, caring, knowledgeable, efficient and very tidy in their work. We also appreciated the expedited advice and quote we received from Jonathan and all the ladies that I talked to in the office were able to speedily and cheerfully help me with all my queries. Our new boiler is purring away efficiently and our house is a home again. We will certainly be using them for all our servicing and will be highly recommending them!
