Jim responded very promptly to my enquiry and turned up at the agreed time to change the lock on my uPVC door. He offered the option of mending the gears instead of replacing, which would have been a cheaper option, however I decided to go for a replacement as a longer term solution. Door lock replacement. I phoned with my request. He asked for an emailed photo, and he soon visited, arriving promptly at the agreed time. He was fully prepared. I contacted J F Locksmith early one morning about adding a secure lock to a side passage door. I was asked to email photos of the door and had a quote within minutes. Work started the same morning but the old door proved to be problematic. After careful thought an alternative solution was devised which overcame the problems perfectly. By the end of the same morning the work was completed to a high standard and we had a much improved side door.

I had a tricky situation where I needed to gain access to my property in fairly short order. Jim was extremely helpful, reasonable and courteous. He responded to my initial phone call and kept in touch via text with detailed arrangements. I have used this contractor twice this year and was very impressed with the service provided. The first time my front door needed realignment. Jim told me how much it would cost and came immediately as I couldn't close my front door at all. He was courteous and explained everything he was doing. There were no hidden charges at all and the problem was quickly resolved. Needless to say I contacted Jim again this time when my lock failed. He came by appointment this time and arrived on time and replaced the lock, even cutting an extra key without charge, in addition to the three already provided. I would definitely recommend him.

A church door 126 years old with a snapped off key in one of the locks nearly 30 years old. We needed the door open, working and secure. Jim was able to come out straight away on a Saturday morning, in fact we had to put him back slightly to give us time receive him. Snapped Keys in the lock can be difficult, but the broken piece was out within minutes. With this sorted, Jim then moved on to make sure that the locks worked correctly and were correctly aligned for smooth operation. Being very old doors, they were slightly warped and the one side of the door had slightly dropped a little. Both of the door lock holding plates were removed, lowered and countersunk better to prevent the locking mechanisms from catching or sticking. This involved chiseling out the door frame. So one broken key removed (original remit), Two holding plates repositioned and countersunk, two locks re-lubricated and checked for working operation and all for the same price and quoted for the original remit. Jim came out at short notice to see if he could resolve an issue with my elderly mother's uPVC porch door. It turned out to be an issue with the uPVC door and surrounding structure rather than a lock or adjustment issue, but Jim spent time checking it out and advising us. He also came out as soon as he could, which we appreciated.
