About
Switch Green Electrical is a Forest Hill based domestic electrical company run by Joel. Callouts, small electrical tasks, full house rewires, consumer unit replacements and EV charge points installations are all services provided by Switch Green Electrical. Joel first became an electrician in 2003 and has been a sole trader since 2011. Joel runs his business on honesty and reliability. All work undertaken is carried out to the latest BS7671 standards.
'All Hands and Hearts' are a non profit volunteer based organisation. When a natural disaster strikes anywhere in the world they help rebuild and improve. Joel has first hand experience working as a volunteer for All Hands and Hearts in Nepal and Peru. Redundant and excess cable is collected from jobs undertaken and then scrapped. The value of the scrap cable collected is donated to All Hands And Hearts. Redundant cable usually gets thrown on the scrap heap but here the waste product is recycled into a good cause that helps disaster struck communities rebuild

Joel arrived on time, did the work - earth bonding wire to gas meter, installing light in garage, adding two double sockets in living room - with no fuss, minimum disruption and to the agreed price. He explained exactly what he was doing and tested everything thoroughly. A pleasant experience all round.

We had wiring for old wall lights that needed removing and making safe at the wall swich. Joel checked the wiring for us and discovered that the cables to the wall lights were connected to the circuit via a hidden junction box rather than behind the wall switch, which he explained to us clearly. This was before we moved in, so we didn't know how the wall lights had been fitted. As we are replacing the carpet in that room, he suggested looking under the floorboards for a junction box when the carpet is up and the floorboards can be lifted, and we agreed to get back in touch with him. He also replaced five wall switches for us. All the work was done quickly and neatly with minimum disruption to us

Joel has carried out a program of works for us, the latest of which was fitting outside lights and sockets to our balcony. Communication before, during and after carrying out the work has been excellent. He always arrives on time and most importantly for us the quality of Joel’s work is first-rate. Joel really did a fantastic job for us completing a full electrical re-wire of a 1960’s mid mod house in July and August. The works involved installing new wiring throughout the house, chasing in cables, installing plaster in downlights and pendants as well as new sockets throughout the house. He also installed a new fuse box and tested everything + certs. Joel is a an excellent electrician and great communicator, we discussed some complex stuff and he always gave great advice.

He was very professional, easy to communicate with, and his work was spot on. Especially with electrical work, you want someone you can trust to give you the right advice and Joel did just that. I have been highly impressed in my dealings with Joel Work done: *fault finding of power sockets and remedy *Add USB sockets *advise and fit fire and smoke detector alarms *fault finding chronic problem with ceiling light fitting *Advice re new ceiling light and fit. The quote process was a pleasant experience. Joel respectfully listened, appreciated and took on board my comments. The work was carried out efficiently at the agreed schedule and cost. It was a pleasure to have Joel work in my home. Everything works so haven't needed to call on aftercare which was offered.
