Laidlaw Electrical Ltd was established in May 2001 and is looking forward to being in business for many years to come. We specialise in domestic and LIGHT COMMERCIAL electrical work. Residential and Commercial Maintenance.’We are local, efficient and pride ourselves on getting the job done on time’.
We are an approved contractor of the National Inspection Council of Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC) which means we are part P compliant,We can also issue building control certificates where these are required by law. (this is law since January 2005).
All work conforms to the current edition of the IEE wiring regulations and codes of practice and all accessories will comply with the relevant British Standards. Quality workmanship and Customer Service go hand in hand.. We are proud of our record of delivering high quality customer service.

I contacted Grant with a wiring problem and he was able to fit me in the same day. Grant confirmed his fees before we agreed the work and everything was done swiftly and properly. A friendly guy, this is the second job Grant has done for us and I'm sure we'll see him again.

Grant did a few jobs for me; replacing mains interlinked smoke alarms, two extractor fans and three ceiling light fixtures which has significantly improved the lighting in these areas. Communication and planning was great throughout, he was polite and informative when checking the work that needed to be done and didn’t ask for a call out charge which I was being quoted elsewhere. He was helpful in guiding me on what light fixtures to get and reviewed these with me before I bought them. With the work itself he used dust sheets, warned me about noise and potential power cuts and cleaned up after himself to minimise the impact on me. I’m really happy with the high standard of work done. Everything was to schedule and budget, and I would highly recommend

They provided timely and reasonable quotes for the work, as well as providing guidance and support before the job to make sure that the installation went as smoothly as possible, including helping me to source difficult-to-find parts. On the day, they were on time, polite and very helpful, completing an excellent job really quickly. Would highly recommend Laidlaw for any electrical requirements.

Grant did a fantastic job exchanging halogen spots to LED throughout the house. He also installed new bathroom fans and fire alarms. We were very happy with the service, cost and timing and will definitely recommend Laidlaw Electrical.
