Laidlaw Electrical Ltd was established in May 2001 and is looking forward to being in business for many years to come. We specialise in domestic and LIGHT COMMERCIAL electrical work. Residential and Commercial Maintenance.’We are local, efficient and pride ourselves on getting the job done on time’.
We are an approved contractor of the National Inspection Council of Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC) which means we are part P compliant,We can also issue building control certificates where these are required by law. (this is law since January 2005).
All work conforms to the current edition of the IEE wiring regulations and codes of practice and all accessories will comply with the relevant British Standards. Quality workmanship and Customer Service go hand in hand.. We are proud of our record of delivering high quality customer service.

When it comes to electrics you need a professional, and I do recommend Grant Laidlaw of Laidlaw Electrical. I have used his services for several years and would not use anyone else. He really knows his stuff, is reliable, trustworthy, clean, and tidy, turns up when he says he will, and has done all manner of jobs for me from small to major, all to a high standard. I always feel the job is safe in his hands. From time to time he has also been able to recommend tradesmen in other trades to me whom he knows personally, which has been very helpful.

Grant initially came out to give us a second opinion on a particularly questionable quote and EICR we’d received following moving house, and was highly recommended by my brother-in-law. He was thorough - identifying problems which had previously been missed, while also disputing the need for a full rewire and so saving us tens of thousands of pounds. His work was high quality, his communication excellent, and his pricing transparent; he also left our house in great shape once finished. We’ve already brought him back for another job (new garage sockets) as we were so pleased with his work.
