We had a badly draining shower I called out LCA Maintenance as they were Checkatrde approved. They caused a flood that came through our Living room ceiling. Subsequently they came out twice but could not fix the draining issue and blamed it on the original installation 8 years previously They charged £551 and left a 9 ft square hole in our Lounge ceiling. I rang the MD and got through to the Plumber. He would not reduce the invoice as they had not charged us the original call out fee of £114. The call was stressful and argumentative. I said my only course was to write a poor review which LCA said would be slander (sic) and blackmail. However I think it my public duty to do so.

Thanks for your review, however unfortunately we are disappointed to read this is a total fabrication of the truth. On the first visit, our engineers pointed out that your original pipework is very old, cracked and yellowed, and you told us there had been a previous leak there before. We cleared the blockage we were called out for but due to this the water was then able to reach the cracks in the pipes that were pre-existing that caused the leak, which could not be caused by us. The shower tray was originally installed too low and the pipe was going uphill, this shower was never going to work as expected, which we advised to you on site. We did not charge for the original visit, we only charged £551 for re-running a section of the waste pipe and installing a new waste, we also reduced our labour cost for the 2nd visit to help you out as a gesture of good will. In regards to the ceiling, we had no other way of accessing the pipework, this was all explained to you on site. We could have arranged for someone to fix this, however there were constant disagreements about pricing. We tried to be reasonable and fair and provide the best service we could but unfortunately it cannot be helped if you are unwilling to listen to our advice. Please be aware, whilst we understand there are different sides to the story, these reviews are very damaging to us when not accurately depicted, but we pride ourselves on being an honest company and providing the best service to our customers.

Received text to say engineer was on his way to me to repair gas boiler t. Adam and a trainee turned up, listened to my problem patiently and set about testing my system. Found the fault which I probably created myself and solved the issue, excellent service. Would use again if needed.

Woke to a kitchen sink pipe breakage! It’s in the middle of CV19 and Bank Holiday Friday yet they got a plumber to us in just over an hour 30 mins later a working sink! My wife is shielded due to current circumstances and he wore PPE was understanding and careful. One of the best experiences we have had with a tradesman ever. Will definitely use LCA again.

Combi boiler

Combi boiler installed, loft tanks and pipework removed. They completed the installation on time for the agreed price, but we had to ask them to come back and remove the tanks. A minor issue is that although the new pipework is neat they didn’t clean up afterwards.
