Lothian Domestics is a growing family-run business, established in 2015, now offering comprehensive domestic appliance repair services across Edinburgh, The Lothians, Glasgow, and a large portion of Central Scotland. We believe customer service is the cornerstone of any business and we aim for complete customer satisfaction. We have a fully transparent approach to pricing, which means we do not have any hidden charges or fees and all of our costs are explained clearly when you book a call.

For your peace of mind, our appliance engineers are all fully trained and insured for all work they carry out. Our engineers all have a wealth of knowledge when it comes to appliances and also carry a well stocked selection of parts in their van and this is why the vast majority of our jobs are completed on the first visit, resulting in a quicker turnaround for you. Every one of our appliance engineers are police vetted and carry company identification with them at all times.

The washing machine repair was completed expeditiously and much more cheaply than buying a new machine. The software informing me of the engineer’s progress towards the appointments is slick and the appointments were both made exactly to time. An earlier appointment was made when the new part arrived more quickly than expected. Very pleased. Will certainly use them again.

We were delighted with the service from Lothian Domestics Ltd. They provided a quick and excellent service. The young lad (Scott), who came to repair our washing machine was very professional and knew what he was doing. We thought he had a pleasant manner and he also went the extra mile to help us. (You don’t get that very often these days). I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needed their appliances fixed.

Our washing machine needed a new drum and seal. All communications were online which is not my first choice but the software made it easy to use. The company were clear about costs throughout, kept in touch via text, providing a contact number if needed. Our engineer, Scott, was efficient and friendly. The new drum he arrived with was the wrong one and this was immediately rectified. Extremely satisfied and would recommend to others.

Our landlord had booked Domestics LTD to come and fix a noise coming from the inside of the tumble dryer. The engineer had to come back today after on the original appointment the washing machine was bloking the tumble dryer and they couldn't access it. So today the same engineer came I had removed the washing machine and job was done in less than 20mins from arrival. Outstanding service 👏

On the face of, this Company seemed very professional and their Communication is first class. If you are unsure about what the problem is with your appliance, make sure it is working again before they leave because, in my experience, the water fountain/ice maker on my American fridge/freezer had stopped functioning. The engineer effected a repair and said I’d have ice within 24 hours. The ice didn’t materialise and they now want to charge me another £100 call-out to look at the ice maker - different job they say!! They’ll not be back in my house.

Thank you for your review. I want to clarify what actually happened as we have done nothing wrong. You raised a job and reported 2 issues, the water dispenser had stopped working and 2 weeks later the ice maker stopped producing ice. Our engineer attended and found the water issue was caused by a blockage in the water tank, and fixed that. Although our fixed labour charge only covers a single issue, he also took a look at the ice maker and found it switched off. He switched it back on and tested the ice maker and found no issue. Although this was a secondary issue and totally unrelated to the water tank repair, you were not charged for the ice maker issue and no repair was carried out on that either. You then contacted us and stated we hadn't fixed the ice maker, it was still faulty. We advised that the repair guarantee was only offered on actual repairs, we cannot offer a repair guarantee on issues we couldn't replicate and in this specific case, you were never charged for the ice maker issue either. You argued that because you originally thought the both issues were related, even though you know now they are not, that we should just cover both under guarantee and we refused. Our repair guarantee only covers faults we 1) charge for and 2) replicate and fix. We cannot possibly provide a repair guarantee on a fault we never repaired and never charged for either. We have done nothing wrong here.

Scott from Lothian Domestics Ltd - Samsung Repair Service attended my property today to help with an issue we had with our washing machine. The filter was stuck and could not be removed for cleaning, which in turn had stopped the drum spin from working properly. Easy to book an engineer visit; great communication about when our engineer would arrive; he arrived on time, and was very friendly and helpful. Machine was fixed very quickly, blockage in filter identified and removed. Machine back up and running, working perfectly again. Very pleased with the service we received.
